About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK and Escape to rural France to restore this beautiful building to its former glory.

I'm glad Supervisor Patrick showed you how to do all this! ❤
Lord Patrick 😂
He's like " Relax, I got this!"🤣🤣
Lord Patrick is the greatest.
😂😂😂😂😂 I thought the same thing!!! Patrick is the best digger on the crew, follow his lead, and the gardens will be exceptional 😂🎉😂🎉😂🎉
Patrick with his little nubby legs diggin lol so cute
These are best days of your lives lads. Tracey is absolutely amazing.I envy the relationship you all have.
Never envy, give thanks and bless it. Envy is one of the seven deadly sins or cardinal sins - Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath and Sloth.
The farmer next door is just amazing! Thank you so much for helping the garden come to life. It is a,so wonderful to see all of the people who have come to help. I’m so happy to see a Canadian as one of them. 🇨🇦🥰🇨🇦
Thanks Shelley 🥰🥰🥰
Wonder if he would give paid tours of his operation to guests. Agrotourism is big in the states.
Tracy reminds me of Zena , Warrior Princess . Beautiful, strong, with a big ❤️ heart.
Very true! 🥰🥰
I bet Patrick was pooped, he had a full day of supervising the digging. What a guy!
Thank you 🙏 ☺️
Patrick: Finally some proper material I can work with.
Haha. Yeah he’s rolled in it a few times 😂😂
Could be worse. It could be fox poop 💩 Now that stinks!!@@chateaudelalacelle
This channel deserves 2x as any subscribers. Hard working family.
Thank you so much 😀
Ash, remain the king of storytelling and letting us see the vision that you are working towards
ASHE...your enthusiasm for this incredble project is contagious and felt all the way to Charleston, SC. Team Chateau Lalacelle has literally raised this garden from the dead and I cannot wait to see it burst into life with the addition of the plants. I've said it before this is the HARDEST working group (and most humble) of any of the Chateau Vlogs...even the pups are kicking a== doing his part to tackle that mountain of topsoil! Merci as always for letting us come along!
Thank you so much for your kind words Ella 🥰
Awww Patrick was in his element,a organic rotavator for free😁
That composed manure is pure gold! Looks like Patrick will enjoy this phase of the garden the most.
Haha. He has been 😂😂
Look at that Patrick digging his way to Belqium!!
My husband came by the tv and asked me why i was so happy to see a little dachshund digging in cow@#$&. You just had to be there. Lol, Im still smiling seeing all that is happening in this enchanted garden. Glad that team Lacelle back together. Ash, your enthusiasm is so contagious. I love the idea of another poster that suggested a pair of statues of Patrick and Sasha hanging out in the garden. Can't wait for next vlog. 😊
Patrick's at it again!!! He's been sans worm-ridden soil for a few weeks now and he's able to indulge in his favorite past time....
Patrick looking excited today doing some digging has made my day.😊
A good start to the garden! What a great group of helpers you have! Good to see Rob again. He is a loyal friend and a super helper.
You have given Rob the 400 s for some as he worked so hard?
As a gardener myself, I'm positive that Shane is thrilled to design and help to install a formal chateau garden with you three owners, with Rob and Robert's (and Tanya's) help. It's not like you'd often find an opportunity like this in North America. You are together creating a beautiful artifact that will outlast most of us, and no doubt, will become a popular destination in the La Lacelle area. I also think your farmer neighbour is delighted to contribute to bringing the old chateau, a part of his heritage that was close to derelict, back to life. Go, team La Lacelle!
We are a long way from the dreadful day that that the stone wall collapsed. It is simply an amazing journey.
This is so great! I've been longing to see the tarps come off and the garden begin to be revealed. Every gardener's mouth waters over good composted manure...I call it garden chocolate. I hope Patrick finds that pot of gold he's been so diligently digging for. Bravo 2 Robs! So glad to see you back.
Thanks Maggie 🥰🥰🥰
The dog was a really good helper in the garden.
Patrick is making sure no varmints or vermin are in there.
That load of FREE manure is priceless! What a gift. We always got a load of chicken "droppings" from a local farmer in the Fall & let it sit outside all Winter to "cure". Can barely wait for plants.
Glad to see Project Manager Patrick "checking you work" so conscientiously. Carry on, men, and Tracy.
Oh Patrick must be in heaven….look at all that soil!😊
Welcome back Rob! Welcome Robert! Big thank you to the farmer who donated the manure! You all are doing a fabulous job!
No disrespect here Ash, you’re like a child that’s had too much sugar. Full of energy, joy and happiness as your garden comes together. Fantastic job and if your home is anything to go by the garden will be stunning 🤩
This project has made Patrick so happy 🎉 Again so much work but it’s just looking more lovely at every stage!! 🎉
Thanks so much! 😊
Garden will be lovely. Will be fun having the freedom of putting your own stamp on the chateau. Explore and let your imagination run wild!!
Completely agree with you ❤🎉
Love your Patrick he is so in his element. Always a little sad to see each episode come to a close, thank you for sharing .
Patrick is making sure you get it right. The fountain is lovely ❤
This is so exciting. To feel that I am even the tiniest part of the restoration of the chateau and its grounds is for me richly rewarding.
Thanks Brett 🥰
So good to see everyone back at the chateau🎉
It’s amazing 🥰🥰
Sorry I missed the live chat today, guys! Great editing as always, Terry- lately I’ve really noticed your musical selections are perfect for the scenes they accompany. This garden will be your family’s legacy, and reflect your choices and tastes for many years to come. I love that Rob is back and has brought you another Rob to boot! Wee Patrick is digging away like a seasoned earth mover! Shane is the perfect person for teaching you the ropes re soil conditions, micro climates and plants for the right conditions. This is all so exciting to watch and I’m so impatient to see the plants placed in the garden. The fountains are beautiful and so is Ash’s enthusiasm and happiness! Love you guys! ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you as always Rita 🥰🥰🥰
Oh my gosh, it is getting exciting now that the garden is being dressed. Welcome back, Rob and Shane, and welcome Robert. You go, guys and gals!❤
Man alive, this is super exciting!!!!! Patrick is living his best digging life😊 So great to see Rob and thanks for bringing Robert with you! Shane we are happy to have your knowledge, we are learning too😊 THE FOUNTAINS!!!!!! YES YES and thank you❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Jo 🥰
Great progress in the formal garden. So happy for the Lalacelle team, seeing the fruits of all the hard work coming together.🥰🥰😘😘
Thanks so much!
What an exciting vlog, the garden is a beehive of activity. Patrick is in heaven 🤣🤣🤣. Shane’s vision is taking shape and it is going to look amazing. Sooooo happy to see Rob back, he is like family. Welcome Robert.
Thanks Claudette 🥰
@@chateaudelalacelle I forgot to mention Tanya, she is an awesome friend to have 💗
The farmer is a gem of a neighbor ❤❤❤❤❤Patrick definitely a hard worker as well 😂😂😂Looking forward to seeing the garden come alive 😍😘
I like the simplicity of the fountains…so plants are the showcase.
Those fountains are brilliant, not too plain and not overboard with decoration. I would have them if I had a garden, bit difficult with living on a narrow boat.
PATRICK NEEDS A RAISE!!! 🥰🎶❤️🎶🐶🇨🇦🏰🇫🇷
Patrick is such a a hard worker. Love it
Great music on this episode! Loving all the progress!! It’s especially nice to see little Patrick in the background helping out. My little wiener dog Chloe passed a few weeks ago, she was 15 1/2 years old. Patrick looks like he has a good life!
Thanks so much! 🥰
You must have taken great care of her, that’s a ripe old age for the breed, sorry for your loss.
@@judithbecker564 thank you. I fed her a homemade diet. We adored her. She is very missed. Thank you for your condolences! I love seeing Patrick, it makes me happy. She was a red smooth like he is.
Throw Patrick a few bones in the pile to hunt 😊
Patrick is in his element. Love seeing him dig. He must be exhausted by the end of the day.
Welcome back Rob. So glad to see you joining the crew again.
Patrick is in Dachshund paradise with all that digging to be done!
So many willing hands surely gets the job done faster..but Patrick is the best! 😂
Always 🥰🥰
So glad to see everyone, Hard at work. Little Patrick is gonna need his owe statute for all his hard undying love of the garden. Lol
We'll done guys.
I bet Patrick thinks all his Christmas’s have come at once with all that topsoil. 😂Good to see you Rob, great to meet you Robert. Life is definitely coming up roses. ❤
Loving the music, foot taping while watching people with wheelbarrows haha
Thanks Alison 🥰
Oh boy Patrick is going to need a bath! He is digging in that manure certain there has to be a pony in there somewhere!
Moooo 🐄
I think Mom needs a charm bracelet with wheelbarrow and paintbrush charms.
Haha. And a spade! 🥰🥰
It is not possible not to like your vlogs❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you 🙏 ☺️
your mother, a pioneer woman. what a worker bee. she can do everything and anything. beautiful..
J'adore voir Patrick s'en prendre au tranche bordure de Terry et jouer les terrassiers.
Il finira par vous déterrer une taupe au moins !
Bravo pour votre persévérance et le sérieux de votre travail !!!
Merci 🥰🥰🥰
Your farmer neighbor deserves 👏🏻👏🏻for donation of so much beautifully composted manure. I’m sure he feels honoured to help. Very excited to see a few beds get planted now that your fountains, planters and other ornamental pieces have been installed.
Patrick must be absolutely exhausted at the end of the day especially with all the digging he must do for his dad's garden!!!! Its going to be gorgeous!!!
SIMPLY AMAZING PROGRESS AND VISION FOR THE CHATEAU!!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🏰🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🎶❤️🎶🥰
Yay Rob's back. We missed your handsome, smiling face! & you brought reinforcements, another Rob, double yay! & a fountain, oh the fountain. Beautiful! Beautiful understated elegance! What a great choice yous made. Let's not forget Patrick. Always on the job. Now the artistry & fun begins. With the gift from your awesome neighbor & Shane being on hand the walled garden is going to finally come to life!😊
See yous soon
Patrick's looking at you digging thinking he could have done that 😊
Patrick the "supervisor" spreading some dirt by digging into the pile.
Haha. Yeah he’s been useful for some holes 🥰🥰
I love Patrick’s work ethic. Nothing is ever too hard for him to have a go at. He seems to love helping with all the gardening.
I really hope you add a cement dachshund and terrier to the garden, maybe on either side at the bottom of the stairs. It would be so sweet to feature your two wonderful dogs, everyone loves them and it would be a very charming addition.
Please consider it!! ❤
🐕🐶🐩🐶🐕🐩🐶🐕
Thank you 🙏 ☺️
yes please do!
I see Patrick has inspected all the new soil... and approved it. And Tracy bless her is working hard... got more energy than I do that's for sure. The garden will be lovely... all the work and care that is going into it will make it superb...
So nice of you. Thank you 🙏 ☺️
Glad you have an experienced gardener helping you learn balance in the garden to make sure your garden is healthy and easy to maintain. Great to have so many hands to make the work lighter and of course the worm hunter Patrick feeding his flock :) great teamwork #teamlalacelle maybe a greenhouse in future so you can grow plants and flowers on your own as expensive to buy ready grown every year is an idea :)
Blessed to have architect helping to arrange all the stuff
Ohboyohboyohboy, things in the garden are getting really exciting now. Glad you have extra hands on deck to help with the soil and compost distribution. Can’t wait to see the plants going in. Yay!
I see Tonya helping too!!! That’s great. Make sure to follow Patrick’s directions. He knows best!
I love to see Patrick helping in the garden. He’s so cute!
💕I see Patrick’s not started digging in the manure Yet💕Maybe he’s waiting for it to be mixed in a bit 😂 If you smell it inside the home you’ll know💕
Shane talks about compost and soil like a soil scientist/conservationist. 👍
Shayne is great! He’s so knowledgeable 🥰
Supervisor Patrick is so fun to watch. Now the real work getting the garden in line with Terry's vision is starting. I am excited for you all, and ready to see what you bought for it.
I can’t wait to see the plants go in. The work you’ve all put into this garden is monumental. From taking down trees and removing the enormous roots to where you are now is mind boggling. Congratulations!!! ❤
Love the fountains you picked, they are perfect. The way the garden is coming along is impressive. We'll done to all of you.
Thanks so much 🥰
What a phenomenal gift the manure. Black gold. Bless the farmer.
Oh la la ! I can't wait ❤ first it was gravel extravaganza now the fountains ! It's really coming together ❤
The garden is going to be breathtakingly beautiful! The kindness of your dairy farm neighbor his heartwarming. Seeing Tanya from BricoMarc was lovely as well. Excited to see the next episode.❤
love the squirrel bench into the entrance of the walled garden
Looks like Patrick is helping with the manure too!
Always 😂😂🥰🥰
Wow we all need a farmer next door and a Patrick !! ❤️❤️ it’s coming together guys the fountain…. Well what can you say…. Fabulous !! Can’t wait to see it working ❤❤
Watching people work is very entertaining. I’m hooked
Patrick in awe and disbelief of his very own dirt pile...🐾❤🌹
Tracy...and men...you all are incredible...what a huge undertaking...what a beautiful centre piece for this historic old chataeu
Thanks Diane 🥰
What exactly is the plan to keep Sir Patrick from digging in the formal gardens once they’re done? 🤔😂
Haha. A baby gate 😂😂
I was thinking the same thing. My neighbors dug up my whole front yard going after a mole! It’s what they were bred to do. It’s in their DNA.
Great progress, the fountains are SO ELEGANT & STYLISH as are the urns for plants - very well chosen indeed 👍🙂. Well done all.
Thanks so much! 😊
🇨🇦Watching this video, all the hard work everyone does my goodness. Who needs a gym membership when you have the garden at Chateau de LaLacelle!!!🤦♀️😅
Patrick is a hatd worker❤. Puppy power!

Ps Patrick deserves a treat or ten 😂😂
Oh my God! Such a wonderful helping extra team. It s exciting to see the quick progress. Every day brings in something new and beautiful.
Congratulations! Probably looking forward to enjoying a nice drink or party in your walled garden, arent you?
I was sitting here laughing at little Patrick saying, look at how cute that little s*** is lol sorry for the curse word 😁 but he's so darling! Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
Ooo! Its all happening now, the fountains are gorgeous. I bet the manure smells lovely 😂
Nice to see Rob back again.
Its a real treat watching Shane work 😊 Looking forward to seeing the plant ❤ 😊 👋
SO many exciting things happening! The garden, Rob, ROB!, Shane,….. what a video and an exciting time for all❤️
So nice to see Rob again for the "summer shift."
I must have missed an earlier episode with Shane. Clearly American, but where is he from, and how do you know him? You're lucky to have him on board for guidance.
Very excited to see the next few episodes.!
Dang! I just missed the chat! Rob squared! R² I love it! ❤
I am so glad that a discover this show from the very beginning. That a beautiful garden this will be. I am 74 and my time for gardening is over. I now live in a beautiful apartment complex that has beautiful gardens around us. I remember when my dad received pig manure from my uncle, he had the best vegetable garden in the neighborhood. We Dutch emigrated are great growers of various plants.
Looking forward to see what’s next.🇨🇦😊
This is so exciting! I've been waiting for this! This garden is going to be so beautiful! Amazing how a big pile of cow sh** will make those plants take off! My grandmother had a garden of a half acre of Dahlia and Canas. She used cow poop, from the dairy farm to fertilizer them. They were gorgeous!
Happy to see Rob back! And welcome Robert! Shane is very knowledgeable and is a tremendous asset to the garden. I really am excited to see the plants as I am a gardener.
I like Shane's hat.👍 He'd fit right in here in Texas.
The gift of composted manure is incredible. That's down right neighborly!👍👍
Welcome back Rob!
I love the glimpses of Patrick. Makes me smile every time.
