That's Awesome! Happy New Year, my friend!
I have GOT to get me one of these. Beautiful work Alex. Panel accent worked superbly. Great to see you enjoyed this one.
I didn t even painted it... aplyed the wash and a small filter tontone down the white and then a matt coat to get the plastic shine down... lot of fun...
The force is with you Alex. Lovely job.
AMAZING!!! Loved watching you use the Tamiya Panel Line Accent, can't wait to get some and use it on all my Gundams!!! And leaving it as additional grime really added to the dirty, weathered effect!!! Great work, buddy, really enjoyed watching u work!!!👍
Colonel Reb's Scale Models Thanks! its an amazing kit... and the panel line reall acted as a filter... leaving it white but not as white... i thought some of it should stay... thanks
Great Job Alex and a great looking model too, well done my friend.
The Force is with you Alex. Lovely job.
Thats a beautifful comment Corrie! Thank you for your kind words!
Nice build up my friend keep up with the good work
Well done!!!! You made a great job. 👍
stunning work I love this
Wow
Just saw this incredible job with the weathering on it 👍
I was skeptical at first because you were not painting per say as you went but came together nicely at the end
Awesome 👍😉
I'm quite happy it uses transfers and requires almost no paint 👍🏻
Big thumbs up. Nice job indeed Alex
Armour Empire Thank you for this one Mark! you have quite a colection of these also... saw yoir video today... thumbs up!

AlexModeling, For the sponging did you use the Tamiya Panel Line Accent as the paint?
+Barnabas Soh yes.. simple as that!
very cool video my friend on my Star wars build I,m air brushing them once built
Alex outstanding effort! :) I very much like!
zs films Thanks mate!

@@bb-yk8oe went ok liked wow it didnt need to be glued have not painted it or done the decals yet but happy with how the build went cheers for asking
Great work Alex, looks super cool! Cheers :)

AlexModeling
Happy New Year back to you and your loved ones! Cheers : )
Great job 👍
Nice work! You may wanna use next time a wash with abit more brownish tint on it, so its not pure black. But its up to you!👍🏼
Awesome kit! Great finish:D wish I had room for one of these XD
+Model Minutes its not as big as my 1/18th Sbd Dauntless! :)
AlexModeling I'll have to check it out!
Great build up..Apart from the sound issues
Hello . Good work as always..
Excelente trabajo Alex !! Muchas gracias por compartir tu amplia experiencia modelistica. Recibe como siempre, un muy fuerte abrazo. Felicidades !!!
Lic. G De Alva Gracias! para ti tb!
Hello Alex. You have the talent to build the diorama. Hope you had a great Christmas and got lots of
kits to build. From across the pond Ray L.
jbll36 Thank you! ;)
Sweet looking build sir
bigeddie1231 Thanks mate!
Awesome
it looks really fine 👍
+Tom 0815 A bit too weathered maybe
@@AlexModeling Alex more like not weathered enough. LOL
Just out of curiosity, since the colors for the X-Wing body is already molded in for you, what color did you use to paint the pilot and R2-D2 Figures?
Ficou muito bom! Espero que tenhas tido um bom Natal! Já agora boas entradas para ti e para os teus. :)
+Da Costa Origado Costa! Para ti tb e para os teus
Awesome, my dad got me 2 bandai kits. Excited to do it on my own. You guys got tips for first timers?
hi there! im a bit of a newbie and was looking into getting this kit for myself. i was wondering if u used the waterslide decals for this or was this the stickers? also what was that u used to brush the pilots dashboard? :)
Hey Alex, that vallejo acrylic matte varnish you used towards the end - was that aerosol? Applied with a regular brush? Or something you put in an air brush?
Did you use any other paints on the x-wing itself, or just the panel line accent?
Great vid and work. I was wondering what do you use to add detail to the lines in the model? I'm new to modelling and would appreciate the advice😀
It's Tamiya panel line accent
What kind of tools do you need? I just got this set and i'm a complete beginner
The Force was wqith you on that one Alex. Great model.
Corrie Rynberk Thanks!
Great work. I have built the Bandai R2-D2 and just picked up the X-wing and General Grievous kits.
I love the technique near the end that you used for paint chipping. Is that a piece of sponge you are using. And are you applying paint, paint wash, or panel line? (I mean on the wing edges, nose, etc.)
Again, great job.
Its one of those electronic dark sponges... clean the execess paint first...im applying Tamyia panel line! :)
@@AlexModeling Thanks, brilliant idea and way easier than salt or hairspray techniques.
beautiful work my friend
waterloo745 Brotheeeer!! How are you crazy Irishman??!! I miss you man!!
missing you to sexy man
+waterloo745 Its only your eyes that deceive you you handsome devil!! AHAHAHAH!!!
i do not see you on face book,so i came searching you here.hope you had a great xmas and a happy new year to you
For you too brother! I don t have FB right now :)
¿Has tratado la maqueta antes de aplicar el panel line?
hey I just got the rogue one version for Christmas yesterday and was wandering how to did the decals so easily and perfectly.
+Scarecrow Syndrome This one has half decals on and half stickers
okay thank you. I didn't notice till after the video.
If it helps, I built the Bandai Snowspeeder. The decals weren't too bad. A little thick, but in register.
+Stephen Smith Thank you! I will check that one up!
Alex my brother I believe you got landing gear installed upside down , salut
Really? Let me take a look at it! Thanks!
Can I have the list of songs you used? the second one especially?
Luftangreifer Asap will check it on my folder and write it here ok? No problem.. its copyright free:)
Hi Men, nice wok!!!... Un your expirence for this model, Is it best apply a coat before the panel line?
One before sothat the wash can flow... a Clear one.. and another clear to seal all befire the mate
@@AlexModeling thanks!
Hey Alex, do you know if there's a model that is already painted and/or already stuck together? Greetings
+Ti St hello! I don t know but revell makes some dantastic snap fit kits. .. all you have to do is cut from sprue and snap fit thenpieces and... voila! :)
Awesome build. Only suggestion is, believe it or not, the exhaust port is actually flush to the floor of the trench..its not standing upright. Makes Luke's shot even that more impossible ;)
Andy Muscarello never olnoticed that... thank you! :) cheers
AlexModeling Since it is raised up a bit you could probably take your exhaust port and just plop it on the edge of your main base
s3files.core77.com/blog/images/lead_n_spotlight/lead_400_40400_.jpg
Andy Muscarello agree... thanks again
Do you use any micro set or microsol? Can I just use microsol without the micro set?
The details are fantastic. You made a toy look like a fine scale replica. Nice work.lm in a building slump and your videos are very inspiring.Thank You from America
+Danny Montoya Thanks! And thanks for watching! I hope you get oit of that phase your going through
Danny Montoya these are highly accurate models and not toys. snap fit or not..
These are not toys these are action figures well um action models.
Yep built all of these in the 80s,these are alot smaller.
Red 5, standing by
really loved this build, i have been hesitating in buying one off these kits ;-) but now i think i will let me go and buy some lmao
Dude these are the kits I go too in between other builds. When im waiting on something to dry or am just burnt out on traditional kits I use these to keep doing something. As they really are that easy to put togeather. The plastic is well made and the details, even on their 144th scale is impeccable.
I take it that you don't have any proper references. I built this same kit. However it doesn't have the same decals as yours does. The new Ban Dai kits are of Red 1 and the only thing that they allow you to modify is the call number stripes. The stickers are horrible as are the decals. The vinyl stands out like a sore thumb and the decals don't stick to the plastic once dry! I now have vinyl chevrons and decal stripes that I had to cobble together so that they would look at least half way decent. I might STILL remove them even though I clear coated them and repaint them so that they will be correct and hopefully the same colour as the red between the two mediums are not exact.
You did a great job until you realized that the wing assembly was upside down!! Don't feel bad - my vision is bad now but I had to pull the laser canons apart at least TWO of them so that I could put them together right, I didn't know that they had different shapes on the ends so I wondered why they wouldn't go together until I got to the last one and saw that it too wouldn't go together! UGH!! Whoever designed this that way should have it shoved up their ass!!! They should've made all the laser canons the same so that it wouldn't make a difference how you assembled them until you got to gluing them to the wings. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us. Keep on building - it IS a dying art!
i was also wandering how you got the black paint to be so water-like and able to use it so easily?
+Scarecrow Syndrome Dilute ot with X20 Tamyia thynner
Hi Alex, in your opinion, what kind of paint do you use to paint the plastic so it doesn't get too brittle and where do you think is the best place to get them? At offline such as Amazon or at your local hobby shop, which is becoming harder to harder to find these days.
I like tamyia paints very much.. and i 99% of time go to my local hobbie shop! :)
which do you think is cheaper though, online or in in stores? and is it the same with the brush that you got there though?
Well.. online is always a bit cheaper there are no middle men... but on local shops you sometimes get that small discount or product you saw and... il take it... you know?
Yes, I have heard of many people say that before. Oh, this came to my mind, did you use water decals or stickers and what you recommend modelers to use for this kit?
I used both! I wanted the decal quality but also to try the stickers.. good quality both
Excelente tu trabajo, la base donde colocaste el X-Wing viene en el kit o lo consigues aparte?
Saludos,
A parte! Gracias!
DUCARALEO MANO!!! 💪💪💪
É um BR?
É PT
Oops, desculpe.
Sem problema! É país irmão! Forte abraço
What brushes did you use, when you were washing panel lines? BTW nice build :)
Chwalimir would like to know this as well
Im kinda new with weathering and things. Can you list down the things that u used in the video?
+Hay - Z hello... i used tamyia panel line acentuator black (that black enamel wash you see me aplly), and the tamyia weathering sets... there is the A,B,C,Dand i think E... each one has separate weathering powders... i used the SOOT one...
Name of last song?
Hey Alex, did you happen to use clear coat for any of the decals that you made?
that you put on the plastic models? Not made. sorry.
LINJ638 yes i did! :)
Would the stickers on top would be affected as well?
Did you manage use up all the stickers and decals on there or both?
Separate question, I don't know if I am asking this right, but which part did you use stickers and which part did you use it for decals?
Hi, could you kindly tell me what kind of paint did you use to paint the X-Wing?
I just used a bit of tamyia whyte. .. but mainly it was no paint. .. just the pieces
Honestly you can use the provided decals/stickers and wash amd your done.
Hi, I want to know is did you just glue the decals on there? If so, what kind of glue or solution did you actually use?
Some were stickers other decals... and for the decals i used Humbrol Decalfix! :)
and can you use Microsol and Microset solution for decals? and for modelling, what kind of brushes do you use? and if so, how thin are they?
Well.. all i can tell you is that for decals you should use microset and microsol... as for the brushes... if you see my videos.. for detail i use double 0 or triple 0
exelent video , saludos friend
+arq daniel fleiman Saludos compañero!
what is the brush and the paint that your are using at 10:55?
What kind of glue did you use on this kit??
Tamyia liquid cement glue! :)
Like
Did you paint that or just strictly use Panel line?
Only the panel lines! Just to have fun!
@@AlexModeling awesome thanx I don't have an airbrush but have been modeling for years yours came out great!
What matters is that you have fun! :)
Only a question: how is possibile such an engineering Marvel? I remember the awful AMT kit, and then from the Far East arrive the definitive X fighter
Alessio De Carolis beacause the kit is from bandai
Bandai is awsome!
You are right, I remember their 1/48 WWII kits in the early'70, and they alread were from another planet!
Do you have to use the glue?
+Ccavazo No.. i used it only as a garantee... its a snap fit... and a very good one!
did u use the stickers or water decals?
+Dion Sybico both:)
What adhesive are you using?
+DesiderataTruth Tamyia extra thin glue
where to get the base board please?
It was from any old monogram kit! Same theme.
Just a comment for the algorithm
What do you recommend as a glue? I am just jumping back into modeling after many years.
I can recomend you Revell contacta with that aplicator. Its a great glue and bonds very well and some liquid cement like Tamyia extra thin cement ot the one im using ok? Have fun!
what kind of wash are you using?
+Myc Sculptures Tamya enamel Acent panel line :)
Thank you! great job!
Myc Sculptures thank you!
10:29 What’s that? It’s like ink? Because in my country I don’t found this paint
Alejo Padilla Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color
Alejo Padilla It’s only in Japan, so you’ll have to get it on Amazon or somewhere online
Sorry about the late reply and thank you Madly for answering... Yes Alejo you can find iT on Amazon or Ebay this product is japanese. If you want me to BE really honest if you get a drop of good oil Paint and thinned it with white spirit ir Zippo fluid you can obtain not the same result but also... The same result😁
AlexModeling Thanks man, now i can finish my x-wing
Alejo Padilla Which version did you get?
I wouldn't want any ground crew from the Rebel Alliance working on my X-Wing if they sent it out looking like that for the Battle of Yavin. Either they take zero pride in their work or it's excessive use of weathering.
Or (wait for it)... Its a syfy model! 👍😊 Thank you! 😊
0:07 welcome to watchmojo
Can I have the standing pilot? Hahaha
Man, 1/72 is mighty small. Please consider ditching the "music". Otherwise good job.
