1:45 Workaround to having the other person logged into your Tesla account: The other person can also just send the location via text to the driver who just opens the location in maps and then sends it to their car in the same manner you described.
The real question is: Why are you still using an iPhone when you have a Tesla? iPhones are total trash and when you have evolved and bought a Tesla, it's time to graduate to an Android phone.
I hated when the arrow is in the opposite direction when I drive.(This depends on which direction I drive to) Is there a way to change that besides flip the map around the way I want it, but it quickly switch back again after 3 seconds... Thank you!
In the UK I have purchased full and await the beta but my model Y only on the odd occasion enters navigate to destination, 95% of the time it just gives me the navigation without it. This is on motorways. Any idea why?
Since last Tesla model 3 upgrade (11 I believe), I noticed that if I’m navigating, map defaults to navigate with north on the compass and not showing the Direction I’m going to
Is it possible to set a specific supercharger station As favorite, which than will be preferred in the route planning, if it is on my way? (Very informative Video, by the way, thanks)
Really dumb question, after all the custom nav work, what are steps to go to live nav. Where the system tracks your movements. Mine just sits there or actually goes black?
I have a 2021 and my navigation isnt navigating me back. It's a one way option. and it navigates me with only 12% left. How do I get round trip information
I recently took a 175 mile trip and took roads that were not on my original planned directions from the Tesla. It really improved the the trip. When I went to return home the maps wanted to take me home the way it had originally planned for the trip only in reverse. Being a pilot, Garmin's GPS has a "bread crumb" trail that you can reverse and follow your exact coarse back. Is there a way to reverse your coarse on the Tesla to follow the way you came in reverse?
Originally loved the Navigation until it failed us on a recent trip. We typed in the address rather than the name of the place. It took us on a wild goose chase into territory better suited for a Jeep. Finally came across a human who confirmed how lost we were. We missed our appointment and forfeited a $150 deposit.
Is there a way to change a route or set a specific route? When I use the navigate home, the FSD option always takes the exit before the one I want it to take. It is supposed to be faster by about 1 minute, but it is a lot more stop lights and turns.
Could you show how to add an app in my Tesla? I am trying to add a navigation system that is better than the standard Tesla navigation. Also, How do I turn off the radio? Thank you!
how do you use navigation to travel from point a to point b and back (a round trip) where point b does not have a supercharger within say a 100 miles or more? navigation is great when its 1 way but not so much round trip, especially with no way to recharge. I have just such a common trip especially in winter where when I would arrive at point b there would not be enough charge to make it back to a supercharger. I'm hoping there will be a way to minimize time spent at each supercharger, reduce the charging times. Thanks
I've noticed the stop sign/red light warning options are no longer showing in the Autopilot options. Is that due to WA laws or because I don't have the FSD?
Awesome video, as usual, I learned more from your video than trying to glean info from the Owners Manual to trial and error sitting in my car. Elon has said, "WayPoints" are coming. Geez, why is that taking so long?
Hey, Cody, since you asked for questions, I have one for you... suppose you witnessed or got into an accident. How would you share Tesla cam video with another driver, the police, your insurance company, etc. There are several different types of USB drives, several different types of cell phones, and PC and Apple computers, so it may not be a simple answer. Thanks.
Good stuff- I have a question. If you are in the model Y going around 50 mph, slightly touch the brake ,move the right stalk up ,will it go into N neutral? I have not tried because if it works then you need to get back in drive. Thanks ! Jeff
Question : Can we have some clarification on Tesla charging infrastructure being available for others.....(such as our (supplementary) MG ZS EV in Australia) being able to use destination and Superchargers ?
I just picked up the model y performance. For some reason every time I get a new update my heat goes out and does not work or is not recognized by my Tesla app on my phone but after a few hours it somehow rectifies itself? It seems like the firmware is having trouble or has a delay in recognizing the difference between heat and AC?
There is currently only one voice. It would be fairly trivial for Tesla to add new voices down the road so additional options are inevitable. They currently have other priorities but on an infinite timeline...

Elon has downplayed enhancements to the Navigation display stating that the ultimate goal is to eliminate the display altogether when the car is fully autonomous. He implied that Tesla is not going to waste engineering manpower improving a feature set that they intend to phase out asap. The physical monitor will remain mostly for entertainment and climate control but the navigation display won’t need to be front and center.
Andrew Leavitt Apple CarPlay or Android Auto requires little to no Tesla manpower and would be a nice placeholder if and when Tesla does implement FSD / Full Autonomy that of which half of Tesla owners won’t even have or get.
@@entertainment72 The reason that Tesla doesn’t have CarPlay or Android Auto has NOTHING to do with engineering manpower. Tesla has their own App Store with in-app purchases and subscriptions in the works. No reason to share a penny of that with Apple or Google. Tesla isn’t giving away billions of dollars because you are in love with your smart phone. That’s how they became the biggest car manufacturer in less than a decade!
Andrew Leavitt simply put their navigation is 2nd class rate and leaves A LOT to be desired, at least where I live. Not having 3D navigation in a car of this tech and price is highway robbery. Just having the Google topography isn’t enough to fool anyone, they need actual Google/Waze or Apple quality navigation. I really like my 2020 Model 3 however Navigation was a HUGE disappointment, 2021 is around the corner, come on Tesla! Great video. Speaking of turn by turn voice over , I like having mine on so I don’t miss a turn. But then sometimes , I come in the car and setup my destination, and few minutes in, I realize it’s muted. Does this ever happened to you. Any trick to avoid having it muted... because I’m not muting it myself and I’m really wondering what can cause that. Maybe does it mute it self after receiving a call ... sounds like a bug honestly.
There are screen shots online of a beta update in which the monitor uses the full color spectrum in the navigation display. It was only released on China. The only downside to vibrant color and greater detail is the potential for driver distraction. Several states have statutes that limit what can be displayed in the cabin when the car is in motion and Tesla must abide by the strictest of those regulations. Similarly you can’t watch movies or UA-cam unless the car is shifted into Park.
The answer lies in your definition of “turn off”. The short answer is that you can not truly power off the Model 3 completely via software. Even if you go to the control menu under Safety and Security and select “power down” the car only goes into deep sleep (hibernation mode). To manually remove all power you must disconnect the 12v battery and the main power harness below the rear seat. The only benefit I can think of in turning the car “off” would be battery preservation during long term storage such as airport parking or service. Why are you wanting to turn it off?
@@drdrew3 I was think like you turn off an ICE car. I never meant to disconnect the battery. I know how to power up a parked Tesla. The “turned off” is at the end of your ride...going into the grocery store et. al.
