- Combat Mission Black Sea portrays a fictional full spectrum conventional war in Ukraine between Ukrainian and NATO forces against a Russian Federation invasion. Armor, infantry, artillery, air support, and even electronic warfare are simulated in intricate detail to produce the most realistic "battalion and below" tactical scale-simulation available.

That was some of the best use of artillery support I have ever seen! I have never been able to truly figure out how to time my missions to coincide with my troop movement. Good job!
Thanks man ! Yea sometimes it can be hard bc of how long it takes for indirect to come in (esp at the higher difficulty levels) but if you can figure it out , it’s a great help , just have to keep it in mind and try to plan for the use of that indirect before the mission even starts.
Guessing you are/were an Infantry PL or PSG and have plenty experience constructing OPORDS. There's no way in hell an everyday civi would be able to coordinate an assault that perfectly, let alone know the capabilities and limitations of all the weapon systems involved.

Was a 19D Section Leader, although I've worn a few different hats. I am indeed familiar with the construction of an OPORD, although what I'm doing with this game obviously isn't anywhere near the complexity of those. Still fun to play around with. I had a driver puke in the CCTT one time, it was wonderful.
@@blueballz2521 explains. I'm sure that driver earned a good amount of "motorpool PT" for puking in there lol.

Your strategy and tactics are on point. Never seen this game before. You definitely do it justice. I’ve been watching graviteam, which is great, but this is next level shit! Keep it up 👍 if possible can you use some choppers in close support? I’d also love to see how you integrate air and antiaircraft elements. Oh by the way ‘Who Dares Wins’!

There is air support in this game, but you cannot control it directly, as you control your troops or tanks. You just call a mission on a grid and it does it's job. It's not even animated, you just hear some explosions and may see you adversaries catch a bomb from nowhere.

Wow, this was very well done and extremely entertaining, Outstanding! I foresee a bright future on YT if you keep up this level of production. CMBS is my personal favorite and I am excited to see more of it as well as the other CMs you play. Also, I recommend reaching out to Usually Hapless and getting into some PvP with him…. he is a CM veteran and would love some new competition for sure.

Love the video and the use of realistic military tactics. At one point in the future, a video beaking down the use of, and theory behind the positioning of SBF positions and avenues of attack would be interesting.
Great AAR. Especially liked the close coordination. You might however want to split your squads when establishing a BP in buildings. Have had some instances where half a squad was wiped out by one RPG.
I want to say your videos of Combat Mission are absolutely phenomenal. I have always liked the game but no one has ever been able to showcase what is going on in the battle like you. I also appreciate your expertise in combat and maneuver, I am assuming your ex-military. Either way well done.

1 question, does combat mission let infantry squads deploy smoke at range with their m203/320s? I only have Red Thunder, so I'm not sure how grenade launcher smoke is implemented.

the only way infantry can deploy smoke in cm is via hand thrown smoke grenades

Ive been considering it lately, would love to do some player versus player. I might get my pee pee smacked, but would be fun I'm sure. Im not on The Few Good Men, but I am on the Discord, and plan to find an opponent there when able.

I’m convinced that luck played a huge role in not taking any casualties. No, I don’t pvp a whole lot. Might have to try “valley of ashes”, I’ll check it out, although I’m already working on next few videos.

Are you using 'Hunt', 'Assault', or 'Quick' to clear the buildings? I find that the ammo issue is a bigger deal for the Strykers, especially the Mk19's. The Javelins really give the US a big (almost unfair) advantage in this one.
I think most of the time I use quick , but once in a building, I usually transition them to hunt. I get mixed results with all 3 commands, so I try to either shock or kill the enemy before entering , if I enter at all.
I play a lot of Shock Force 2, it's my first Combat Mission game. I'm thinking of getting Black Sea, although I gotta admit, even the less equipped Syrians and Jihadists(Unconventional) still give me a run for my money! Not sure if I'm ready to fight a better equipped foe! :) Are you using any mods in this video? Graphical or anything?
Subscribed. Read thru comments and confirmed own assumption clearly ex military. Have to ask though, are you ex movie production too? Can't get over the wide screen view without so much as a compass turning up on screen. Really top quality tactics and equally top quality presentation. Excellent stuff.

Yes it has , but , as of December 21 , we are still using them. They should be completely gone by 2022. I think the money that they were using to maintain those systems is now being put into the newer lethality package for the Stryker units , javelin on turret , 30mm cannon ect.
I get the impression that the AI is pretty bad. Looks like they din't even bother to show any resistence
More like the arty and direct fire support was very heavy. The enemy was throughly suppressed, and that allowed the infantry to move up safely.
Great game but way to expensive .
