Vinegar should never be used on hardwood floor, the acid will eventually eat away the protective coating and if you use vinegar to clean your hardwood it will void the warranty if your floor came with one.

Unhelpful. What concentration of water to vinegar? Camera should have been on the surface being cleaned, not on the woman. Very amateurish.

Never, never, never use the abrasive side of a sponge to clean a wood floor, and especially NEVER use vinegar or water. Water warps and vinegar is an acid which will ruin the finish.

Modern finishes are typically polyurethane, which is impervious to vinegar. (You’re not cleaning the wood, you’re cleaning the finish.) There’s little chance of warping unless you flood the floor.

@@FrankGutowski-ls8jt we just got hardwood installed in our home 2 weeks ago and the supplier and installer both explicitly told us not to use vinegar to clean the floor as the acid in the vinegar will eat away the protective coating and void the warranty that came with the floor. Vinegar softens polyurethane over time.

This one recommends damp-mopping with vinegar. Others don’t.

Not one word about why use vinegar. It’s not a surfactant.
You’re not cleaning wood. You’re cleaning the finish, typically polyurethane.

I spilled a vinegar/baking soda mixture on my dark hardwood floors and it left a whitish stain/residue. Is there any way to remove it?
