I loved every bit of this movie seen it twice in theaters and will be going back again. Dont have theater PTSD here in Houston texas but everyone else 😷😷 be safe out there
The best piece of foreshadowing no one has picked up on: Peacemaker points out in the beginning, that Starfish is slang for a Butthole. The 2nd act, Ratcatcher threatens Thinker with a dozen rodents crawling up his ass. Then the literally movie ends with about a million rats, crawling into a giant starfish.
Amanda Waller: "This here is Andre, the Black Nerd. His super powers include unboxing toys and moves in hyper edits." Harley Quinn: "I like him already. Welcome to the Squad."
Best part. I literally cried laughing in the theater. Peacekeeper: "I've got a clear shot on the only one in the building." Shows a housekeeper with virtually no threat xD John Cena found his character.
I feel this. My husband and I thought we'd be so ready to go back to the theaters once we got fully vaccinated. Then we talked about it. At home: You have your own comfy couch, access to your own snacks, and can actually eat said snack while being unmasked. The weasel thing was weird AF to me. We both enjoyed the movie. It's delightfully fun and hilarious. Thanks for a fun story time, Andre.
Totally free plug: Alamo Drafthouse is responsible, and also has a layout that's inherently good for social distancing, with the "server lanes" creating a lot of space vertically. Plus I always feel better going to the movies at a place that's run by people who actually love movies.
Casting James Gunn as the director of The Suicide Squad made perfect sense. He already proved he knows how to direct a movie with a cast of characters mainstream movie watchers don't know and make it extremely watchable.
Since Suicide Squad 2016 was trying to replicate the use of music like in Guardians of the Galaxy 2014, but failed terribly. It’s like poetic karma that James Gunn was available at the time for DC to scoop him up and give his version of it!
Actually it was the other way around. WB told Gunn he can pick any character he wants. They probably expect him to pick one of the more famous ones ( even Superman was on the table) but Gunn told them he wanted to do The Suicide Squad.
18:04 “Macavity!”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I cannot tell you how much joy your review of CATS has given me- it is still one of my favorite videos/reviews of all time. Nice callback.
Amanda Waller is great. One of the scariest comic book movie characters. I'm more scare of her than Thanos and Darkside. She's just so cold and nasty, but at the side of the "good guys" so it makes it even worse. And Viola Davis plays her amazingly. I'm so scare of her that might be a little attracted to her.
@MS 92 I love Thanos as a villain but he’s a super powerful alien and Amanda Waller is more grounded in our reality. There are government bureaucrats that have that much power in our world and they do not always have the best interest for innocent people in how they do their jobs. Viola Davis does an amazing personifying such a person.
@Latest Obsession so pretty much batman and flash will be the iron man and spider-man of the dceu. Well would of preferred it if they just did flash (barry) and kid flash (wally).
I do wish Gunn handled Polka Dot Man's death better. It felt like a Chekhov's Gun moment where he mentioned having to release the polka dots daily. Could have made him sacrifice himself by blowing up rather than still being the butt of the joke. Great review as always.
I SOO feel you on that movie theater anxiety, Andre. It's exactly why I haven't been to the movies since Bloodshot last year. Wondering if the level of cleanliness is thorough or a just a rush job, would weight heavy on the mind. Plus I know as soon as I hear a cough or a sneeze, it's gonna make my eye twitch and just ruin the whole viewing experience. I have no problem doing the premium pay to watch theatrical releases at home. I just wish they would do it when it's released at the same time theatrically. That wait time is brutal when you trying to avoid spoilers. I'm definitely buying The Suicide Squad when it drops physically to support it, cause it REALLY deserves it!!!
The one thing I really liked about the film is all the music was Diegetic (where the characters are listening to it too) the only exception was harley's montage / combat sequence but I think that was what she was hearing in her head. just not in the actual room .
Bloodsport and Sebastian's budding friendship was one of my favorite arcs of this and maybe any superhero movie. I agree with you about the character and story moments being more entertaining than the gore or whatever. Really enjoyed Peter Capaldi hamming it up, too. He was clearly having the time of his life.
I got the vibe that Peacemaker didn’t enjoy killing Flag. I thought Cena actually had acting chops there as it looked like he was doing his “duty” but he was torn by it. So I think this may play a part in his series.
One thing that baffles me: How the hell did Peacemaker survive the entire collapsing facility falling on to his head? He was literally in the centre of the tower when Starro bust through
1:10 Actually yeh I agree with this, I actually had trouble even paying attention at the start bc I was worried about people sitting near me and there were still people coming into the theater and it made me insanely nervous. Same thing happened when I saw Jungle Cruise
In terms of Movie Theater anxiety as you said. I have always kept away from people even before COVID. The only time I've had a packed house was for Black Widow.
Most of the time when I used to see movies pre-2020 I was always in a room by my self because I went at the unpopular time. You'll be fine going to the theater. Just go on a week day at like 1PM
Depending where you live, you don't even have to do that. I've seen two movies in theaters recently (this and Black Widow), and both times it was a Saturday afternoon. Both times, there was only one other family in the entire theater.

You are my favorite. Yes, I have anxiety at the theatre - plus rage - as the folks who are going are on phones - laughing and talking - its worse than it was before. Love your review! I have watched it three times.
The birds were a reference to Savant being a Birds of Prey villain in the comics and Black Canary is a team member, so the birds are both Canaries with black tipped wings
I really enjoyed the movie. Watched it right after Space Jam.Was surprised so many characters died before the opening credits. As terrifying as Waller is, she seemed a little bit softer this time. She wasn't so quick to flick the kill switch this time around, I know it's because she wanted to use whoever survived for other missions, but I felt like in the last movie she didn't give so many warnings. Legit surprised that she didn't ice her whole team in the end like she did the last time. I had no idea Peacemaker was getting his own show, but they got to explain how he's still alive. He was shot in the neck. I know John Cena got a thick neck, but from the time he was shot to the time the surviving squad members were helicoptered out, I don't see how he lived. He should have bleed out. The star of the movie for me was clearly Sebastian.
I was honestly surprised when Flagg was killed off. When I saw Harley wink at him and him smiling back, I was expecting them to be flirting or trying to hook up later.
Andre my Man...i love these not the standard review/thoughts/rambling/trying to explain segment's cuz You bring this pure energy and charisma and hilariousness and that makes this review's oryginal and god-damned funny😂😅totally Your own so please don't stop❤
This!! Exactly this was my experience with Black Widow! I feel anxious going to a movie theater. There were so many random coughs around me that quickly pulled me out of the experience. The next day I got it on Disney+.

"are these other people behaving?" "What do I do if they aren't being safe?" "Will some one confront me because I'm accidentally not behaving safely?" Doesn't gel with the whole Free Guy mood.
I love your theatre anxiety explanation more than review itself 😅. Best encapsulates what a lot of people are feeling. I live in India and will wait to watch it online legally.
I fully agree with the feeling of pressure going to theaters again. The Suicide Squad was my 1st theater movie since 1917. I only go to theaters with seat reservations, just knowing where people were assigned to seat ahead of getting to the theater was reassuring. That being said..the movie was awesome!!
This movie was my first in a theatre since September. I wore my mask the whole time and did get nervous from time to time so I get the lack of immersion thing. We do have strict capacity limits here right now, though, which was nice. I saw Free Guy earlier this week and was a bit more relaxed but also kind of not since people were closer to me there given that it was a smaller theatre (saw TSS in IMAX).
Yes. I have movie theater anxiety. My coworkers wanted to see black widow in theaters I was like ok ☹. I knew the people I was with her vaxxed so I got a little relief. IDK how I feel about so many characters dying
I kind of wish I had HBO Max because having half the advertised cast get killed before we got much of a chance to really explore some of the extent of their abilities really threw me for a loop, especially Captain Boomerang, I was hoping to see more of a dynamic between Harley, Rick, and Boomer since they were the holdovers. The movie is full of great characters, moments, and scenes, but I'm not sure if I enjoyed the actual story, and I want another viewing now that I know what to expect and can keep my expectations in check.
I definitely have movie theater anxiety now. It makes me nervous because I want to see Shang Chi, but it's only in theaters for 45 days. That's 45 days where I'll probably be totally spoiled unless I go to see it.
Yes, Free Guy and Marvel's What If...? are coming. Just gimme a little time to catch up. Thanks for watching!
I'm sure your super powers can handle the task. Your reviews are awesome.

My take away from Suicide Squad: we now have the technology for a live action/CGI Street Sharks movie!

Can Vin Desil be in there somewhere? He did the commercial back in the day 😂

YESSSSSSS!!!!! Let's give the Street Sharks and Extreme Dinosaurs big-budget reboots and a crossover!!!!
The movie had WAY more heart than I expected too. It had quite a few moments that were very sweet.

10/10 review already
Can you please talk about Kevin Smith's Master of the Universe show and the upcoming CG He-Man Show?
I teared a little bit when Ratcatcher 2 said "My father loved me. I wish I could give that to you." She's the best T_T
I agree after what peacemaker did i wasnt to sure about the peacemaker show
Great review! You brought back the excitement of this movie all over again!
