"Normally I'd say that's the biggest slap I've seen all week, but weirdly enough it wasn't" 😂😂😭😭 *outta* pocket for that Andre!!!🤣🤣🤣
It just happened as soon as I read it
@@soo1579 same 😂
😂😂😂
You're not wrong but it was still pretty hilarious 🤣🤣
if your reading this in like 5-10 years( or you don't follow the news at all), it was the will smith/chris rock slap at the Oscars.
Sony: Keeps trying to make the Sinister Six a thing.
Blade: "Some motherf@ckers are always tryin' to ice skate uphill."
Blade's timeless phrase proves to be true
It is so sad how true this is.
If WB can bank off of Suicide Squad, I don't see why not, Sinister Six are more iconic. No Way Home just did it too, you can tell they were scrambling to get 6.
@@Alex_Logan22 Because their stories are different. The Suicide Squad are villains with explosive leashes in their necks so they'll comply to do black ops assignments. The Sinister Six are villains united together to pursue their own selfish goals which usually killing Spider-Man.
@@parkerboy795
The point is both of them approach the movies from a villain-gone-antihero angle. It's been obvious since Venom that that's what Sony wants to do too.
I know the youtube algorithm is weird but I'm so happy to see you still uploading andre I'm glad you're still around & still going , big fan since 2014
I come check his channel periodically because I never get notified for his content or see it suggested. That’s with similar content going thru my feed so it’s definitely annoying. I’m just glad I can remember on my own, tho I can’t even remember where I put my keys regularly lol.
Same here, Andre is my UA-cam home 🏠
I have the bell on and his channel never shows up for me. I'm only here because I searched for this scene.
“He’s like Ant-man for bats. He’s Batman.”
You take that back!
Micheal Keaton is now the sole owner of both the GREATEST twist (revealing he's Liz's dad) and the WORST twist (showing up in this after credits scene) in Marvel history.
And showing up in the Flash movie!
I love that you go "yeah the movie is not good" but you still manage to make your review fun and energetic. you make it sound good just by talking about it
It’s great for a bad movie night
Morbius vs Legend of the Ten Rings is an interesting case study in taking a mostly unknown character in the midst of a franchise and trying to do a ground-up family style origin story for them in a PG-13 space for a normally R rated genre, as both vampires and kung fu often are. Both had a lot of ground to cover, both are fairly short, both have a time skip after the prologue, and yet the way each handles story structure and pacing is SO different
Interesting comparison there, I'd never thought to compare/contrast those movies.
I wouldn't say Kung Fu necessitates an R rating as badly as vampires. The Matrix movies were R rated but definitely not for their Kung Fu action.
Not many people loved Shang-Chi, but they’ll admit it was far better than this splat.
@@Alex_Logan22 I think pg-13 is equally doable for both genres, but a very difficult proposition, and on the whole you're better off making it R. I also think it was a lot easier to do before the MPAA got super queasy about blood. 90s pg-13 is way more violent than modern pg-13
@@z-beeblebrox
Animated/straight to DVD releases, or streaming/TV content, seem to get away with much more. The Batman also kinda shows you can go as far as you want with tone, sound design and implications.
DID U KNOW: Morbius has a cameo in 1998's Blade but it got "cut" out unfortunately. It can still be found in the blu-ray/DVD.
Nice
Andre is one of my favorite online critics because he TRIES to have fun. He never approaches a film with a sour or cynical attitude or shame others for enjoying stuff he might not *cough* MisAnthroPony *cough*
Never change, dude. P L E A S E
What a car crash of a movie for me, could have been so good. It had potential and scenes that were removed… I wonder what this movie was before removing scenes🤷🏽♂️
Car crashes are more entertaining than watching morbius. Don't insult car crashes.
@@BlueAmerican26 damn lol
That Macavity reference got me. I burst out laughing!
Actually comic Morbius has historically fought his own bloodthirst, and Mat Smith's character is a Morbius type living vampire in the comic as well. This movie's ironically very true to the comics.
Wtf is a "living vampire"?
@@markz9739
A vampire that's rooted in our world of science rather than the common supernatural/fantasy.
@@markz9739 Most vampires are either undead creatures or people that can still exist and have personalities and thoughts, or they are a race of creatures that don't have a body system that works the same as most living creatures. These vampires are typically magical creatures or at least somewhat demonic, and they may even identify as a separate species. The "Morbius the Living Vampire" thing is because Morbius got turned into a vampiric creature due to scientific means and mixing DNA rather than through a vampire bite or making some demonic deal that changes him completely (looking at you Dio). This makes him have several vampire powers due to the bat DNA and the bloodlust, but he still is technically a human that is still alive. If you brought in a vampire like the ones that Blade fought in his movie to the clinic to see if they were alive, even if they talked to you and everything like that, their heart, body temperature, circulatory system, and all of the other important body systems would be the same as a cadaver or corpse. Morbius on the other hand has all of his body systems working just fine, has a normal body temperature, and his fluids like blood or spit aren't just straight up poison. Morbius also doesn't have magical weaknesses like silver, garlic, or holy water because he was transformed in a scientific manner. Another interesting thing to note, due to this scientific procedure, Morbius doesn't get burned by sunlight as typical vampires do, he is just somewhat sensitive to it and his powers become somewhat weaker. This is the best way that I can explain it, but let me know if you have any other questions.
That how I felt and I like that actually give him a better reason to be Morbius.
Vulture in the MCU- I will do anything for my family including kill and steal because I love them so much
Vulture in the Sonyverse- Who cares about my stupid family, vampires are more important
His family left him.
Spider-Man and his entire corner of the Marvel Universe has always been and always be my favorite piece of fiction ever! That being said...I have never been so saddened by a movie while enjoying the cheese all at once in my life. Overall it was disappointing for me. Definitely not great. At the VERY least the Venom movies can be "turn of your brain" fun. This doesn't even reach those heights as well as the Venom films, but I definitely have to say the after credits are what rubbed me the wrong way more than the movie itself. Gonna have to see it again once it has its home release for my final thoughts, but Sony?..What are ya'll doing? 😭 At least Matt Smith had fun.
matt smith is the best
@@KingsNJenssons yep
Considering how Venom 2 and Morbius were made to be "efficient", I'm expecting the entire Kraven the Hunter movie to fit into one trailer.
When you mentioned the blue blood-like fluid I immediately thought about Blade and the blue serum he used to curb his hunger!
Yuup
Yea that was a flaw in his logic, since blue is a common alternative blood color even in R rated movies. Plus this movie had plenty of red/black CG blood whenever they could show it, not to mention real blood bags. It wasn't anywhere near as offensive as some of the earlier X-Men movies where Wolverine would slaughter people with clean claws and zero blood/limbs.
Really? I thought of Luke Skywalker. Those space-walrus-cows!!
I solved why Vulture goes to the Venom-verse. Clone-Venom. That little piece of Venom will definitely-probably grow into a whole Venom. A spare Venom running around the MCU creates an imbalance, and Vulture getting sucked into the Venom-verse stabilizes the imbalance. The multiverse doesn't care that he's in the wrong dimension, only that the math works out.
There's an easier outlook. Strange has no idea what the hell he's talking about, he admits his lack of multiverse knowledge to both Peter and Wanda, and was wrong about all the villains knowing Spidey's identity (Electro didn't), plus others like Gwen who knew did not come.
With all the crazy rumors and cameos going on for Dr. Strange 2, practically anything goes with little in the way of rules. MCU writers have already messed up Raimi's lore so those characters would theoretically not be the same variants we grew up watching, so its not like Marvel has it all figured out either. They started strong with Loki, but stumbled with No Way Home.
It figures that Morbius would suck in theatres and Moon Knight would do good on streaming 😂
Lol
Lowley is the Leto without cash
"We don't talk about Milo." Encanto 2 coming soon! 😂🤣🧛🏼♂
Andre is really good at making this film seem interesting.
It tried to do Venom Let there be Carnage, fast pace to get to the post credit scene; but atleast Venom let there be Carnage still wanted to entertain its audience even though the post credit scene hype was lost after NWH
I think the big hype was dropped after NWH, but the drop of Venom left kept a glimmer of something there.
@@Dan-ch8kv still though, not the glimmer we wanted and kinda doesn’t make sense
What movie should I talk about next week?
A certain blue blur? 🤔🤔🤔
Sonic 2 of course
Sonic 2, no brainer here! 😉
Teenage mutant ninja turtles 1990
Sonic 2
Thanks so much for doing what you do, Andre. Your videos have made me laugh throughout the years and I love hearing you talk for a long time about movies/shows. You’re just so uplifting and entertaining and your vids never fail to make me smile even after a hard day. Just thanks! Keep up the good work!
If I go to theaters to watch this it'll be because of Mat Smith. Andre you sold me on his performance. At least he had fun!
Andre you should do a review for Blade. Still a fun time 25 years later.
That birthday gift analogy at the end was clever. 😂
- J. Stokes
I was wearing the exact same Venom t-shirt when I first watched this video.
btw, this vampire came across less like a man-bat hybrid and more like a straight up Dracula-esque Strigoi type vampire from Romanian mythology.
This is genuinely the best take on “Morbius” I have encountered so far.
Thanks for your videos Andre! You are always fun and entertaining to watch. No matter how long your videos. Been watching your channel for a long long time, and you seem to be one of the most happy and genuine creators on the platform.
Keep up the good work!
You always make awesome content, but that Charlotte's web reference you did for Milo had me in stitches!
100% spot on accurate review....couldn't agree more with your review...you perfectly articulated my sentiments
I have no plans to see the movie, but I'm so glad you did. This was great fun.
That Hollywood joke was awesome 😂 love your videos!
You've always been extremely good at giving nuanced opinions while being fun to watch.
The effect of Morbius moving around and jumping and flying is like someone played the game Prototype and just tried to copy that.
THAT’S what it reminded me of! Prototype and Infamous - they all use that same style of effect
I thought it was fine overall, it only got in the way when it was both Leto and Smith fighting each other since it doubled the effects. I really loved his first group takedown where he dodged a bullet and proceeds to kill everyone within a split second, great bullet time execution.
The director said that he saw his daughter playing Pokémon then decided to use the affects.
@@Raccon_Detective. I have no idea if that’s truth or not, but either way that’s a disservice to Pokémon!
@@commandermercury6654
He said it himself, he said that he liked them which is why he used the affects.
UA-cam recomentmdations is getting good now 🤣 the way you narrated this gave me life jajajaja.
I could either go to the theater and watch this movie and get the full emotionless experience...Or I could just sit on my couch and enjoy Andre's hilarious commentary.
Why does morbius say he’s venom? That part still baffles me lol. Love to see you upload, I’m quick to click! Thanks for the great, also hilarious break down. It’s not often I chuckle out load to these but I certainly did this time.
To remind us that better movies exist lol
To scare them away so that he can take over their lab without killing them.

Lolllllllll
I’ve been waiting for this hahaha
Best review I've seen!
Love your videos huge fan ❤️✨
Thank you, Andre! The way people were talking about this film I went in expecting The Room, CATS, or Fan4stic. Then when it was over I was like, “Ok, that was….. fine.” Was it great? No. But it had like you said commitment from the actors (especially the MVP Matt Smith), and some unique cinematography choices. All in all it was serviceable in my opinion!
I'm calling it Snorbius. The only good thing about this movie was the Across the Spider-Verse sneak peek before the movie. Everything else felt like something right out of 2002-2004 and not one of the good ones from that era.
it may not appeal to comic book fans but it appeals to people who are obsessed with vampire media and grew up on content like the vampire diaries twilight and shows like buffy the vampire slayer and even those who grew up on the original dracula movie with Keanu and wynonna rider would probably get a kick out of morbius
Just because it’s not for comic book fans doesn’t make it a bad movie it’s just for someone else
this movie isn’t for comic fans or Spider-Man fans it’s for vampire fans
Vampires are cool and badass
@@madnessarcade7447 If it wasn't for comic book fans or Spider-Man fans, then they shouldn't have made it about Morbius.
you tlkin about the milo slap made me realize how much ive missed you.
20:56 AMEN. Also, this just occurred to me as you were RIGHTLY big uppin "Blade": I usually don't like "special edition" movies, but I would not mind AT ALL if they re-released the first movie with updated effects. Especially the shiny, floaty blood blobs towards the finale.
Never gonna happen, but would be interesting to see!
Andre, Your energy you put in these videos is unmatched 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man, I'd listen to you talk about any movie tbh
This was a great review. You did a good job. I didn't mind being spoiled, I'm probably not going to see this movie.
what happen to the care bear ratings lol? Love the content!!!
I can totally see how the watercolor effect would not be everyone's cup of tea, but honestly I totally loved it. It gave me the vibe that using the powers diminishes the concrete sense of reality and makes it more fluid and impressionistic. Some combination of using abnormal senses (like the echolocation) and moving too quickly to process everything with normal precision.
2:39 I see what you did there! 🤣🤣🤣💀
I haven't seen this movie, but I have heard what the after credits scenes are and it sounds like it makes so little sense. First off, why would Vulture be teleported to this new Sonyverse after the ending of NWH. Second, how did he build his own wings? If memory serves, he did not make his previous suit, but instead The Tinkerer did as evident when he asked him if his new suit was ready near the end of Homecoming. Third, why would he instantly go to Morbius? Does he know something about the multiverse? Shouldn't his biggest priority be to get home? Please correct me if these were actually addressed in the movie, but judging by the reactions, it doesn't sound like they were.
1. I’m pretty sure this was meant to come out before nwh and they never fixed the movie unlike Marvel Studios that did actually put in the effort for some things to fix the continuity. Also Kevin Feige (the producer responsible for the MCU) had little to no involvement in this movie. No joke he’s the reason why there’s so much good continuity in the MCU! 2. Okay it’s possible he worked with the tinkerer on the wings and taught him a few things about his wings incase he ever had to make any repairs outside of contact range. But the movie never hinted of his technical knowledge or if he memorized the plans of the wings. 3. It does seem like he’d wanna get home ASAP to make sure his daughter’s okay. It’s possible given Morbius is a scientist he thinks he might be able to help him get home but I dunno.
Maybe vulture need a Disney plus series to tie in his character to morbius, venom and spider man
For real. The new Vulture suit even looked like a BETTER suit. And wasn't the first one built with Chitauri tech? Was there an invasion in this universe, too? It feels like they're trying way too hard to make these two separate universes where it would've required less hand-waving to just have everything in the same connected world.
The director has basically confirmed that they made wrong assumptions about how NWH would work when making the post-credit scene, and have scrambled to try and still make it work (including this Vulture being declared the Sony-verse Vulture, not the MCU one)
How did Vulture even Know who Morbius is? How did MCU Vulture, in this New universe, even Find Morbius at all?
Thanks for another amazing video Andre, just went to see the movie today & honestly I'm one of the 2% out there that actually enjoyed it. 😂 I loved the early 2000s feel of it, very Underworld vibes. It really wasn't as bad as people are making it out to be.
It’s the Venom T-Shirt for me , I can’t wait for your review of Sonic 2
Great video and honest review. I hope to see your review of moon Knight. Series.
I'm just looking forward to your Sonic 2 video!!
Right Andre, Blade deserves props for getting the MCU ball rolling but Hollywood doesn't want to do that they want to give credit to Iron Man. Nope, give credit to Blade.
Blade basically showed that superheroes could make money. It's the reason X-Men got made, and the raimi movies(which made all the money). Which spawned the mcu(which made even more of all the money) Which spawned where we are now.
Your birthday card analogy was SPOT ON
I have that exact same Venom shirt you’re wearing
All thr giblets! You're the best Andre!
Okay at this point can we get a Bommerang Solo movie please Great video 👏🏻🙏🏻also can’t wait for that sonic review 👍🏻
this one of the best reviews about this movie on UA-cam. most of these reviewers are just bombing this to bomb it some are defending just to defend it. its just is what it is. it wasn't that bad
Marc Bernardin said the same thing- it felt the older pre MCU super hero films. I haven’t watched it yet but now that I rewatch the trailers and listen to reviews I can see that.
BLACK NERD YOUR THE BEST UA-camR EVER
Great work Andre. Yes. U are correct. Just like Venom this feels like a 90's era hero film. Yes. The after credits are..(sigh). Well, I give Sony props for working hard to build their "Sonyverse". "After credits" pay offs are not their forte. It is nice to see Morbius on the big screen though and I like Jerod Leto Morbius way better than as the Joker. BUT. Great video Andre. Thanks. I'm looking forward to watching your opinion of Sonic 2 buddy.
When you were talking about the “I am venom scene” an ad for Morbius interrupted with that exact scene 😂
Oh and yes. I thought the same thing about efficiency. I literally said in the theatre " Wait what?. Ok. were doing this huh. Let's gooooooo!"

Hi Andre hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
You should do a review of Ambulance!
Rotten tomatoes has put this down as a positive review taking your quote of “is this a movie you should see, yes”
when he dances in front of the mirror was the song "I Think We're Alone Now"?
13:50 lol 😂 what did you say
Andre you are the best
😂😂 good stuff
My theory for why Vulture got transported but seemingly no one else did: Aside from Tony Stark, Adrian Tommes was the only person from the MCU who found out Peter was Spider-Man on his own. Everyone else was either told by someone or shown directly by seeing Peter maskless. Strange's spell might have made Adrian forget Peter, but not the evidence/actions that lead to him piecing it together, so he'd potentially remember on his own, and gets transported out of the MCU because of that.
So this leaves just one question.....in the Morbius/Venom-verse, did Tony Stark's corpse get transported too?
I would honestly love it if you talked about the Blade trilogy
everything everywhere all at once= the best multi-dimensional villain entrance every

Thank you for acknowledging blade.
Lol thank you for saving my time :)
MCU: HEY WHY IS OUR VULTURE IS IN YOUR MOVIE!
Sony: WE JUST WANT A SINISTER SIX MOVIE LET GIVE US THIE MOMENTS! 😭
Dumb theory time: Doctor Strange's spell didn't erase people's memories of Peter Parker, it just swapped the people who knew for versions of them in the Multiverse that didn't know about his secret. Vulture probably switched with someone else who was also in jail and didn't know anything about Peter Parker.
But there was not a adrian toomes, to swap with?
i like this theory
But before the final spell, pretty much the whole world knew who Peter Parker was. So everyone was replaced?
It did erase peoples memories tho that was the whole point
