In the Greek mythology, ‘the story of Thebes’, where Cadmus (the founder of Thebes) was cursed by both gods Ares and Hephaestus, the former for killing his serpent, the latter for marrying his unfaithful wife. Labdacus, who was the grandson of Cadmus, killed one of the dragons belonging to the Greek goddess Hera , bringing a curse on his family. Laius, who was the son of Labdacus, cursed by the Pelops, the father of the son Laius had abducted. The Oracle of Apollo at Delphi prophesied that the only way to save his kingdom he should remain childless, so when the child was born, Laius and his wife Jocasta, wishing to thwart the prophecy, order a shepherd to kill the baby however the baby survives and his name is Oedipus… Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex and Antigone depict how a curse and a prophecy are intertwined and unavoidable no matter what actions the character chooses and how strongly he or she believes they can escape the fate…

According to folklore Macbeth was cursed from beginning conven to witches objected to Shakespeare using real incarnations so they put curse on play . The legend has it play first performance around 1606 was riddled with disaster. In the play Shakespeare made Macbeth and his wife murderd aged king Duncan, when he come to visit them in their castle.
