I thought "what does this girl know". Turns out you know a lot. Fixed my Haier based on just your vid. Thank you.
I'm a research and development technician for medical companies. I know how to take apart things and rebuild medical devices for brain aneurysms and products relating to electrophysiology. I didn't go to school for it...I learn best by taking things apart.
Well done!
What you wanted to replace was the overload switch (that was working as it was supposed to).
The part with the broken disk is the actual start relay. THAT was causing the overload switch turn off the compressor (either turn it off or have it burn out).
Love the video! I have to do the same thing to my camp fridge. So glad I found your video.
Excellent tutorial
Love your candor and sense of humor!
Had the same problem with my Fridge and fixed it based on this video, thanks much!
I have the same exact fridge. Thankfully someone made this video
I agree it was a nightmare to open this box, I almost give up. Was awful! The black box that they have send you, is just in case you didn’t have enough removing from the motor I guess!
although u were very thorough, and i can certainly understand your frustration, its really not that difficult, its only when when we have no experience on anything really that we feel the engineers just dont know anything, as an automotive mechanic I feel exactly the same way reality I feel they do it in order for us to send the vehicles back to them as opposed to our backyard mechanics doing their own work
The overload relay always rattles its normal in this type of Relays, and yes your relay its Ok. I am 100% sure that was not the problem,
Thank you for taking the time to share the info...and the links:>)

Thanks - Saved me a Ton of time!
Turns out there's a recall on these Haier Refrigerators for that part. I received a recall letter and called Haier. They are sending the part to my home and have scheduled a tech to come out and replace it. I think the reason it is now sold as a kit, is because of a design change. Probably changed the value of the capacitor. So the "fix" is a revamped design and they probably include the cover and screws, washers etc. So one does not have to use any of the original parts and my guess is that the covers probably snap if you're not as careful as the OP. Great video and very helpful.
Wow....that doesn't surprise me. Thanks for the update!
Thank you for saying that ,I got the same setup took 20 min to remove
The cover definitely needs to be redesigned. It is too small to fit all the wires it must contain after doing the repair. Should have never made it past quality control. This repair did not fix my refrigerator which is only 2 years old so I’m going to keep looking for the reason as to why the refrigerator and freezer doesn’t cool.
Yanked off my black cover ,the shit is so hard to remove ,but regardless, a big thank you yo you. Your video was really helpful
I had same compressor issue but with Samsung fridge freezer. I was hoping it was the overload protector since it was making a noise when it was shaken. However later in this video it was shown the replacement device was also making a noise when it was shaken. Anyway, I bought a replacement overload protector and that was also making a noise when shaken so no surprise when my fridge freezer didn’t work after installing device. I checked the thermostat after that but that was ok too. So gave up and bought a new fridge freezer in the end.
Replace alll the start components. Relay//overload and capacitor
Refrigerator parts are hard to come by in Japan. It's like looking for water in the desert. I'm an electrician, but I don't get it.
In Japan, manufacturers are very influential. Manufacturers are more focused on getting people to buy refrigerators than selling parts.
"Thanks to that, refrigerators and home appliances are thrown away deep in the mountains." The government has regulated illegal dumping by law. But in vain. Well, I'm going to look for a refrigerator deep in the mountains and pick up the parts. just kidding.🤣
Well, there are compatible parts and successor parts for parts. You can also find them by searching for characteristics such as current, voltage, and starting method.
sometime when two plastic pieces are on together for so long they kinda glue on togather!!
Take a picture
i love your video very nice love it
Hi mrs. I have the same Haier Fridge only 2 years old, model HA10TG31SB the relay not working and I have to by the all kit cost me $67.86 including tax .I swear the same you did because it very hard to remove the black cover the relay and overload kid.I do swear about it china made not good. The relay only $10 dollar but we have to buy the all kid we don't need it.Any way you are very handy women.
Everything/ had ice(over cooling)how to clear the problem.
Thanks
Saran.
Okay so I have a #%&@@* dam Haier and has same problem. Sat in garage for a year and now looking at it. Yep the dam cover is hard to remove. After research found there is a recall on it. Hope I don't end up doing it myself with expensive parts!!!! We'll see how it goes, thanks for tips and new swear words.
Got this fridge free,!! $679 @Home depot right now, any way there was a recall like you said and they sent me the part free....thank you
I bought both of those parts, replaced them and have installed them. The fridge now compressor now runs for a short time, begins to cool then cuts off. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT ELSE IT MIGHT BE??
I have no idea. I would do some research. I only made my fridge work based off of watching videos and doing some homework.
Best of luck. Hopefully someone that does know stumbles on your question and gets back to you.
Hi
all u have to do is pull straight back, wiggleit out
You do not have to remove the tray to get to the relay, that black cover over the relay can be a pain to get off tho. I paid $50 for the kit..lol, I'm going to have to ride their ass then because I shouldn't have had to paid that either.. Hopefully I can get reimbursed..
I'm have the same problem , but I'm not good at putting things together, right now I don't have a refrigerator , I'm to poor. And that 4 real it sad .
The best thing you can do is call the company and complain. Tell them that they need to sell just the relay alone and not the entire $45 kit. All I can say is that I got really really lucky that I talked to a young man that understood I was poor. I wasn't rude to him, but was very frustrated that I had to pay that much when all I needed was a small part. You can also complain that for $45 you can just find a better fridge on Craigslist AND a better brand.
Truly sorry to anyone who owns this piece of crap china made thing....
they sent me a recall notice lol cant find my recipt for the rebate lol bought this fridge i think 2 years ago havent had a problem with it but i wont buy another one
I haven't gotten a recall, but it doesn't surprise me that it has been recalled. Yeah, don't buy Haier!
@@alienheston5748 recalled models are HA10TG31SS, SW, and SB
13:59 Big surprise this thing is made in china so is a piece of shit😂😂

Haha I'm doing research to fix this Haier mini fridge at a pawn shop for 20 bucks lol but love the vid, agreed, a lot of videos have similar things that point the people who made these fridges are idiots!
Are You Married ??
