Exactly. You don't have to be godlike to understand how to play a tower defense game, or a lot of other games for that matter. Also, you'd think that, for a game claiming to be inclusive to everyone, they'd add a mode that's actually, y'know, CHALLENGING for the OGs. I get that this is a beta, but they've had this long to fix shit up.
Really weird how they removed choose your seeds considering PvZ2 had levels where you couldn't pick your plants, like why make the whole game those levels?
and even then when they did it in pvz 2 there was usually a reason for it, either it was to make an interesting chalenge (no sunflowers, odd combination of plants, ect), or it was to introduce you to a plant you havent unlocked yet
Dave isn't crazy, and they put an energy bar like those soulless mobile games out there, there isn't freedom to choose your loadout anymore, literally unplayable
the most cursed part of this game is that the sun values and costs are no longer multiples of 25. i remember thinking pvz 1's small suns being cursed, but ive changed my mind.
Pvz2 is going to get an update soon that allows gold leaf and thyme warp to level up and be used in any world. Them and tomb tangler, the arena plant after levitater, will have a base cost of *40*
It turns out that Pvz3 is developed by a whole other team at popcap, this isn’t developed by Pvz2 developers whatsoever, to be honest they should take notes from the first two games and add some creative content that will keep the player base run on and on
I think that the chilly pepper, jalapeño, and cherry bomb should be unlockable plants and NOT power ups, also let the player pick their plants and make the levels harder or have a difficulty selector
I like how people be saying "oh the story not compelling" when pvz2 was legit about dave fighting through hoards and hoards of deadly zombies just to eat his taco again
Correction: it was about Dave traveling through time, fighting zombies across history, and nearly causing a temporal paradox that destroyed the universe just to eat his taco again. Yeah, PVZ2 was wild.
alright but fuck you if u believe that wasn’t the most compelling story line of all time. in all seriousness the gameplay itself was what made u want to play on, and the fact there were only three characters who come up very rarely in levels just to talk nonsense was perfect. the more intense plot in this game makes it worse
It's weird how the game goes through the effort of giving a bunch of tutorials when you'd expect the majority of players to know what to do by the THIRD game
It still needs the basic tutorial because it may happen that someone starts playing Pvz3 and never played any Pvz game before but not that much tutorials because 1 and 2 didn't have that much, why would the 3rd need?
You don't get it. Pvz3 is going after a whole different audience. But honestly I don't think anyone is that retarded to need all those tutorials. They're honestly and insult to the players intelligence.
honestly for how much people complained about the old pvz3, it was actually not that bad considering all the changes and the art style was actually acceptable and even good like with the portraits of the zombies and plant designs. it feels like theyve gone completely backwards with the progress by completely redoing everything and it still doesnt feel like it should be called pvz3 just yet. it would definitely need to be something on the scale of what pvz2 is to pvz1, which is a huge step up from what the previous game was.
The new art style in 3rd kills off the PvZ vibe esspecially that the plant’s eyes look psychopathic and time traveling for a sacred taco was a better story then “Dave” being kidnapped
The artstyle being changed is fine. In the grand scheme of things, that’s the most minor thing you can criticize about the game. The lives, tickets and consumable power-ups leave a bad taste in my mouth though. If I wanted to play with those mechanics, I’d play the Scapes games because that’s all those do. If they really want to make this game then call it PvZscapes because it doesn’t seem worthy to hold the PvZ3 title imo
The worst about this is that nothing happens. You always see the same location and get some dialogue. I'd prefer a PvZ Adventures-inspired Neighborville where you can actually build something and it also serves a function. I generally would enjoy it if the game took more of PvZ Adventures. It would bring massive changes.
At this point I liked old pvz3 more. Yes, it had a lot off problems like p2w and copying other games. But at least we had 39 plants and they were unique (at some point) that made me excited. Now we have 10 plants and only one out of them is new. Also I was like in those 2% of people that actually liked 3D design. You could see that they put a BIT of a heart to models. So yeah, Idk were will our franchise end….. BTW sorry for English it’s not my native language/:
i’ve heard other people say things like “this could very well be the death of the franchise right here.” to be honest, i agree with them. considering what has been happening to the franchise recently the past few years. this series i’ve been with the past 10 years, i might just quit the series when this game releases. i don’t wanna see it die like this. PvZ, PvZ2, Garden Warfare, GW2, Heroes, i have a ton of reasons to love each and every one of those games. every one. BfN was good, but also just mediocre. but at least it was playable. and could be fun. i have about 4 reasons to like PvZ3. and low hopes for the future.
The only games I still play in the franchise are gw, gw2, the og pvz, and heroes. bfn was bad compared to the other pvz shooters, pvz 2 to me just doesnt feel like a pvz game, and do I really need to explain pvz 3
The people that made the first game and the main story of the second game should team up, fix this train-wreck of a franchise, revive PVZ, and stop dreaming because that'll never happen.
Honestly the fact they are holding out and even attempting to change things up based on feedback gives me a bit of hope. I know it's very very unlikely but I'm hoping this game pulls a Sonic Movie and becomes good. They reworked the art style completely, that can't have been easy and I feel like if they didn't care they wouldn't have gone that far. I think what they could be doing with the test is seeing where the fans want them to go from here. "Okay, we reworked the art style, let's see how they like it and what we can fix next." If we can get them to fix some of the worst aspects of this, unable to change plants, the lives system, the way the layout looks like gardenscapes. I feel like this could actually become a pretty good game once they have a solid foundation to add to that they KNOW people will like. I'll probably be completely wrong about this because who knows how much can, or will be changed at this stage. But if they continue to improve and constantly ask for feedback with tests like this? Honestly if they at least show change like they did in this most recent beta, and it's taking feedback into consideration.. I'm cautiously optimistic.
We had normal day and night cycles, then going into time travel, I’m wondering what another concept could be in the franchise. Space? (May be cliche but Star Wars knockoff like using star fruit as shooting stars like in PVZ heroes.) But the basic idea is 2 games has good concepts and good executions. So a concept like this is good but a little dry in terms of what can be done. Limited and even not being able to pick your plants, that’s crossing a line. What they could do is implement things like…..say call on a plant hero for assistance, use peny as a way to push back the zombies. Stuff like that.
Idk I just wanted to voice my opinion. The thing with this game it had a lot of good potential but what they did was…kinda bad in terms of game play. I don’t mean like the game looks or plays bad. I mean what they did for players. 5 lives and then you wait 30 minutes. Copying other games in terms of play style like having lives or having several million tutorials (when there’s literally 2 other games of this) and stuff like that. My opinion is this game had potential if they played their cards a lot better.
The reason I think they don’t let you see the zombies before the start of the level is cause you can’t pick plants so there’s no point. Normally you could see what zombies are in the level and pick plants accordingly, but since they come prepicked now they think showing the zombies before the level is pointless
I'm ok with the artstyle for the plants. What I'm really not a fan of is how the zombies look. Their faces looks like different zombies that aren't from the PVZ franchise. Their eating animation is a bit over the top for me. I feel like this is the perfect version for kids to play. It's a very kid-like game. Not so much for a sequal from the previous 2 PvZ. It starts off from an all new storyline with brand new people. I'm hoping to see more improvements on this game. Not that it's bad. It could've been better. I also love the mechanics you talked about. Really new and creative
There are a lot of improvement over the Alpha version, however, the levels just feels so bland, like these are genuinely some of the most uncreative levels up there. I really hope that they make longer and more diverse levels like in PVZ 2 that has some very creative levels in it.
Wow your Oppinion is very Based and justify how the game works i liked it, i should say though that i Miss minigame in pvz3 i only play the current Beta so IM sorry if i didn't know there is minigame in demo version but with the lack of zombie in the Beta i understand why there is no minigame in pvz3 current Beta so i hope they creatively enough to added minigame, And i hope that PopCap watch this video.
I think you put it perfectly at the end "the problem was this game was labeled as pvz 3 and not some sort of side story" the problem is they made pvz 3, they by default are putting VERY heavy expectations on it comparing it to the likes of pvz 1 and 2 (before they destroyed it). i look at this game and see a shitty mobile game compared to pvz 1 and 2. its graphics are a total down grade compared to both, thats a problem. its general look and gui? looks like shitty mobile games like homescape. its tutorials are fucking disgusting, crazy dave never told you what a single plant or zombie did.you played the game found out yourself through trial and error. oh i got a cactus plant? and theres a balloon zombie? maybe i'll need to use it! not the game reminding you for 4 fucking levels how to counter the same zombie and telling you what every plant does. its brain dead. on its own the game is fine could use some fixing but its fine its a mobile game. but your putting it next to its perfect predecessors of pvz 1 and 2.
When I saw Plants vs Zombies 2 get released almost 10 years ago, a thought came to my mind that the game was very good and well-made (if not the best) that it would be very hard for EA and PopCap to make another sequel, as they would need to make a better version of an already best game, and it's kinda happening right now with PvZ 3. PvZ 1 and 2 are so incredibly made that you could see the team struggle to make something very unique and different but still be a good game at the same time. And I feel like the design has really downgraded too quick that I could even say that PvZ Heroes could be considered as the real sequel than the actual third game. PvZ 2 was very good that it made almost all players shift from the first to the second game. As for PvZ 3's case, looking at just the betas it would be a real struggle for PopCap to make the players move from the second game to the third game as the new sequel's reception has been really bad which would cause a lot of players to just stick to the first and second games.
@@bryll4 rlly mixed when it comes to the lvling system, for one it makes gameplay easier but a lot more boring and it's pretty much used more for extras like penny's pursuit or the arena, the other part is that you would probably need to go pass a paywall wherein it would cost tons of coins and diamonds just to master some of the plants
Plants vs Zombies garden warfare 1 and 2 are also timeless classics, the third game is definitely not. Pretty strange how in both the TD games And the shooter games, the first two are amazing but the third is shit.
@@RGC_animation came back to the game recently, honestly leveling isn't even that bad, gives you something to use coins on other than powerups and since levels are generally made to be beaten without leveling it generaly only serves to make the game a bit easier
The entire experience of the PVZ3 Beta is streamlined to be as brutally monetizable as possible. Short easy levels make naive children think "wow, I'm really good at this game, I should play more while I'm on a winning streak!", where the lives system says "woah there son, if you want to play more, you need dad's credit card!". Even the taco tickets are just a way to make children feel like they're playing a game when they're really doing a completely automatable process. The super easy way to make profits while not locking content behind a paywall is cosmetics. However, the lives system let's them put "free to play" on the app store, when it's only "free to play" and not "free to enjoy". Overall just really scummy business stuff
The first time I played pvz 1 and saw a gargantuar, I was terrified as it just destroyed my hypnoshroom without a second thought, and then started tearing through the rest of my defenses. If I had had a whole tutorial level explain to me what a gargantuar is it just wouldn’t hit the same
Honestly I think the major issue is that they're trying to make something new or unique instead of relating it back to the style or gameplay of the original game. That's not entirely a bad thing and there are plenty of things that can come from trying new stuff like with the ways that levels can vary in environments which is cool and a very great way of changing the gameplay to force people to adapt strategy, again that is cool because now you're forced to think about your envirment and experiment however they ruin it by adding in systems they did not need and tampering with what already worked. Plus Crazy Dave is not crazy so 0/0
I feel like most of the pvz fan base complanes over minor things and will search for any nitpick to go Ea BaD even though popcap said it themselves it isn't EA fault at all. I like this guy because his complaints were genuine criticism not just EA bad and nitpicks.
Late but agree with the bring back the almanac the almanac is supposed to be for players who don't understand zombie mechanics and what they do and how much defense they and is crucial for the game
I got my 7 year old brother to play pvz 1 recently and he figured it out in like 2 minutes and he didnt even bother to read what the tutorial was saying! He just started planting stuff and lost a bunch of times but he loved it!!!! If there was a "lives" system in pvz1, im sure my brother wouldve quit insanely quick. Being able to just restart the levels over and over and learning as you go is what makes it fun!!! You literally dont need a tutorial in this game at all. It is the THIRD game!!! Its the same mechanics and everything as the last two games!!!!
Also yeah, not being able to choose your plants is literally hand holding because the game is telling you which plants you need to beat the level instead of letting you see which zombies are coming and then having to make a strategy with the given seed slots and then maybe your strategy doesnt work so then youre able to restart the level and pick a whole new set of plants and thats whats fun about it!!! The way Popcap is doing this is taking all the fun out of the game. Also im still not a fan of the 3Dish art style of this game. The last 2 games were 2D so... maybe itll grow on me idk... They could just change the art style again and make pvz3 2D tho :) Popcap is just trying to change pvz too much... stop it
Imma disagree with the music... it feels rather basic and didn't really have variety within it and somewhat felt lifeless... PVZ1 managed to have enjoyable music to play along the game but feels the same in each world but still feels different in eevry area or level you play... while Pvz 2 wen't all out and made the music a lot more different from every world and made different music in each flag just to match in the intensity of the battle, the fact that you feel something in the final wave in every world makes it feel special especially in modern day... but this? it just feels basic and barely even have a difference, the fact that I don't remember any kind of music in pvz 3 just the old remixed ost they used...
This feels like a very grounded review. I like how this a mixture of possitive and negative comments to keep the video from being too far in either extreme for too long. Thanks for making a review so I don't have to play a game full of tutorials
Popcap still has one last chance and time to make things right and I hope that Popcap can take our feedback seriously. Here are my main problems with PvZ3: The Life System takes away the challenging factors as Popcap knows that people will stop playing if the life system blocks them from attempting to complete the hard challenge. The Taco Ticket System is pointless as PvZ1, PvZ2 and other games shows that you can progress the story without using these tickets. While I love that each of the worlds play with the game mechanics, throughout the 50 levels, we only got lack of plants and too many basic enemies excluding Bowling Zombie and Rock and Roll Imp but they appear at the last few levels of the beta. This make progression boring. Too many tutorials, it is even annoying for me who have experience playing PvZ1 and PvZ2 to be told something I have already know. As mention on this video, PvZ1 and PvZ2 doesn't need 50 levels to teach a player. PvZ1 did a good job of creating a level disguise as a tutorial by allowing the players to experiment and try to figure it out using simple and easy to learn mechanics. Too many Locked and Loaded levels which takes away the challenges from PvZ2 such as Save Our Seeds, Dave's Mold Colonies etc. Choose your Seeds is a fun mechanic that allows the player to experiment their setups and other plant combinations. If PvZ3 allows the player to experiment their game and mechanics more freely like how PvZ1 and PvZ2 does and promotes problem solving like other Tower Defense games, it would be a better game.
this artstyle is probably the worst direction they could've taken the franchise in. I like that they added human characters but the rest just looks too simplified without any innovation that couldn't have been done for pvz2.
I like the riverbanks concept! But the tutorials are so long and the storyline was just not it. A good concept is for Crazy Dave, Douglas, and Patrice (?) to again defeat Zomboss but he travels across the globe. Like a sandy desert with different mechanics (dust devil ambush that switches plants) or the Japanese area with Cherry Blossom Ambush that both affects plants and zombies, or a city area with a road that squashes a zombie or plant, a night only area that has a fog bomb ambush (Plantern return maybe), there are so many things that can be done here
Me the whole time: wait... When did they announce PvZ3? The original PvZ3 remembers me on the facebook game. Liked it, as it was more like most other are, like a path and you build your towers along it. Enemies can't dmg your towers, but can use buffs or debuffs
I like the new plant designs, i think they’re really cute! But considering you can’t choose your seeds and most of the zombies are basic; i prefer the first 2.
Trying to get 300 sun in pvz1 : hard work Trying to get 300 sun in pvz2 : * accidentally spams goldbloom sun shroom and enlighten mint* Trying to get 300 sun in pvz3 : dies
I feel like with Battle For Neightborville, it was wacky and weird however I think there where some pretty cool features that I wish was in Garden Warfare 1 and 2. But with PvZ 3 it feels like there is very little good to take away from it, at least also because its a mainline game
For me the art-style is a very mixed bag. Like the sunflower and most of the plants look fantastic. But the actual ground you place them on looks so under-detailed and flat that it feels out of place, it looks like it’s made of clay instead of grass. Same goes for a lot of the backgrounds and UI, which take up way too much of the screen in my opinion.
I really want to make a video to show what they COULD fix. As a PvZ veteran for mostly 9 years, I have a lot of ideas to put, especially removing all the 20 tutorial levels and put mostly 1-3.
Ooh boy, this was recommended to me and I thought it must have been a recent review, only to notice at the end that it's a year old. A few of the details changed for the better, but the big important points are sadly the same.
“How does the artstyle hold up? Compared to the previous 2, this is a direct upgrade” A. The first games artstyle was classic everyone knows it B. The seconds artstyle was a refined version of the previous game plus new plus. Plus the music from the previous games are better than 3. And yes the artstyle IS similar to a soulless corporation. It has clearly been minimalized to attract a younger demographic. The artstyle and music from the previous 2 is no doubt superior in every way compared to 3.
You know I don't even know why I said it was a direct upgrade, that was a complete slip of the tongue. I meant to say it was good enough. I think I was trying to refer to being a direct upgrade from the original PvZ3
Bambooshoot in his original PVZ debut, PVZ adventures was a beast, he shot slow, but did massive damage and splash, and he looked way cooler and normal than his new redesign, I miss PVZ adventures it had more original plants like Beet, Flaming Pea, Popcorn, Asparagus, Chilly Pepper and much much more new zombies, so many original zombies, idk why they don't reuse zombies like Barrel Zombie, Conga Line, Ice Block Zombie, Mall Cop Zombie, IMPostor, Cool Hat Zombie, Weight Lifter Zombie etc. A lot of old content that can easily be added like that old you can be a zombie game mode on PVZ adventures, I really wish more PVZ UA-cam would talk about that game
About the lawnmowers, I think you have to take into mind that well yes, 5 lawnmowers can make it too easy. But what about extremely restricting challenges where you need sacrafice mowers? In most Pvz1 and Pvz2 challenges, you need to sacrafice mowers. Sure this isn’t intended gameplay, but Plants Vs Zombies is a tower defence and you should be able to play it however you want. I would much prefer if: We have 5 mowers or The single mower can target 5 lanes Have two difficulties that change that.
When I saw this video, I was shocked to see just how professional this is! With the effort, production value, and funny and sometimes dry/sarcastic humor these videos deserve a lot more attention. Good job! To critique some things you say, some of the stuff the story sets up feels a lot more fetch questy than the first games which had simple goals (survive, get the taco). We COULD have had maybe some sort of zombie free haven we want to get to, this is why we keep traveling. This is why you'd recruit people, you want to play possible side optional levels for recruits that may help you, or just give you more content! I agree that the gimmicks are very cool though. My issue is that the levels are short to the degree that either they don't impact you, or it becomes unfair. Art looks... fine? Not a huge fan. Not mad about it, not happy about it. Other than that.... yep I pretty much fully agree
One of the things i can think of to improve levels on pvz 3 is to maybe reuse the old level mapping of pvz2 (that includes the stars as challenges) since i really like the old mapping of pvz2 (many challenges, more levels and a better mapping than the current pvz2 level mapping). Idk 'bout you guys since this is my personal opinion as someone who played pvz2 after the first release
By far the worst part about this is the pre-picked plants. The whole point of PvZ 1 (and 2 to an extent) was to collect more and more plants as the levels went on to slowly build a collection to choose from for a specific level. Not only does this go against the whole concept of the game, but it prevents people from attempting challenges like “0 sun” or “3 seed slots” thus removing an entire layer of replayability.
This feels like a really dumbed down version for 2 year olds. The 25 per sun was never a problem in previous games so the only reason I could think of them making it 1 per sun is to make it easier for 2 year olds.
the artstyle is a point of contention but can we talk about the animations? zombies no longer eat plants, peashooters shoot sideways, and every limb feels like a rubber band with how stretched and warped they get. for a tower defense game, i feel like snappier animations work better than bouncy ones. this game just feels too kiddy, like replacing more practical playgrounds with plastic-y foam-floored ones.
The issues with the tutorials are interesting because George Fan once did a GDC talk (Called "How I Got My Mom to Play Through Plants vs. Zombies") Where he talked about how to make interesting and good tutorials.
As much as I hated seeing Chomper and snowpea as money costing plants I even hate it more seeing jalapeño and cherrybomb as powerups Seriously at the very least they could’ve chosen plants that weren’t classics like healthseeker and shadowshroom Just anything that didn’t appear in the first.
My requests to devs: 1) Make the game complete, with Almanac, etc. 2) Make it not a mini game. I want to decide all by myself, not follow tutorials, because following something is boring 3) Make graphics more realistic and less cartoony 4) Don't forget about common sense for example zombies usually go to people for their brains, they won't go to volcano. Don't try to copy previous games, make the game so like it's new, with common sense, players are not robots.
Honestly all bad things aside, i love the new art style, it really looks cartoony and fun, i just find the Peashooter's eyes quite strange, but im getting used to it
I’m a pvz veteran of maybe over a decade. I’ve played pvz 1, 2, gw, gw2, heroes, bfn, but don’t want to touch this because I knew after that they made bfn, the shit had hit the fan. If they have an actual god tier redemption with the gw3 that we’re all hoping for, then pvz will be at its highest.
it’s honestly becoming so sad to me, i remember playing this game as a child playing for years cus i was so shit at pvz but wanted to complete 2, best memories of my life. seeing this absolute shit that they’re making is honestly depressing

just give us the option to skip the tutorial.
@@LakesideTrey Nah, this would insta-kill the whole app.

honestly for how much people complained about the old pvz3, it was actually not that bad considering all the changes and the art style was actually acceptable and even good like with the portraits of the zombies and plant designs.
it feels like theyve gone completely backwards with the progress by completely redoing everything and it still doesnt feel like it should be called pvz3 just yet. it would definitely need to be something on the scale of what pvz2 is to pvz1, which is a huge step up from what the previous game was.
old pvz3 artstyle....
pvz baby edition
The new art style in 3rd kills off the PvZ vibe esspecially that the plant’s eyes look psychopathic and time traveling for a sacred taco was a better story then “Dave” being kidnapped
I honestly don't like the artstyle of pvz 3 it's overly cartoony like it's a game for 5 year olds
The old demo had way better gameplay, but the artstyle was... questionable.
If they really want to make this game then call it PvZscapes because it doesn’t seem worthy to hold the PvZ3 title imo
yea, those were really bad changes for a PvZ game.
and personally, i really like the art style
The worst about this is that nothing happens. You always see the same location and get some dialogue. I'd prefer a PvZ Adventures-inspired Neighborville where you can actually build something and it also serves a function. I generally would enjoy it if the game took more of PvZ Adventures. It would bring massive changes.

Comments like this give me hope.
We had normal day and night cycles, then going into time travel, I’m wondering what another concept could be in the franchise.
Space? (May be cliche but Star Wars knockoff like using star fruit as shooting stars like in PVZ heroes.)
But the basic idea is 2 games has good concepts and good executions.
They don't even "Eat" They just bitch slap the plants.

There are a lot of improvement over the Alpha version, however, the levels just feels so bland, like these are genuinely some of the most uncreative levels up there. I really hope that they make longer and more diverse levels like in PVZ 2 that has some very creative levels in it.
Ok im going to be honest i dont think a lot of people picked up on this but you structured this video like the act man (in a good way)
Nailed it
The fact that sun is not multiples of 25 or at least even 50 like in 2, makes it unplayable, the un-25 numbers were cool only in pvz heroes

PVZH gonna make a comeback in the times of hardship for PVZ.

Going with your idea that it could have been renamed and PopCap called it a spin-off, a good name for this game would be Plants Vs. Zombies: Mini
The first time I played pvz 1 and saw a gargantuar, I was terrified as it just destroyed my hypnoshroom without a second thought, and then started tearing through the rest of my defenses. If I had had a whole tutorial level explain to me what a gargantuar is it just wouldn’t hit the same
the moment i saw the 25/50 system was gone i lost all hope for this game like idk why i just find the one sun two sun system so bland
Plus Crazy Dave is not crazy so 0/0
I think the old lawnmower mechanic should be an easy mode for those who aren't that well versed with pvz
The thing I don’t get is WHY DID THEY REMOVE PLANT FOOD the could have expanded it but no, we got some dumb grapeshot ripoff

They could just change the art style again and make pvz3 2D tho :)
Popcap is just trying to change pvz too much... stop it
I kind of hated playing the game because I couldn't choose my plants but the art style is really good tho.
I still don't understand why they removed the normal 5 lawnmowers and replaced them with 1 robot thing
oh my god they didn't change anything since it spft launched

i just wished there were more worlds in PvZ2
Opinion respected
This feels like a very grounded review. I like how this a mixture of possitive and negative comments to keep the video from being too far in either extreme for too long. Thanks for making a review so I don't have to play a game full of tutorials
Popcap still has one last chance and time to make things right and I hope that Popcap can take our feedback seriously.
Here are my main problems with PvZ3:
The Life System takes away the challenging factors as Popcap knows that people will stop playing if the life system blocks them from attempting to complete the hard challenge.
Like a sandy desert with different mechanics (dust devil ambush that switches plants) or the Japanese area with Cherry Blossom Ambush that both affects plants and zombies, or a city area with a road that squashes a zombie or plant, a night only area that has a fog bomb ambush (Plantern return maybe), there are so many things that can be done here
15:03 The fact that you only had fun with 3 levels when there are 50 levels is a bad sign
I agree and i notice a cool thing... The zombies have gender now. idk why i like it but it's a cool feature
Trying to get 300 sun in pvz1 : hard work
Trying to get 300 sun in pvz2 : * accidentally spams goldbloom sun shroom and enlighten mint*
Trying to get 300 sun in pvz3 : dies
I feel like with Battle For Neightborville, it was wacky and weird however I think there where some pretty cool features that I wish was in Garden Warfare 1 and 2. But with PvZ 3 it feels like there is very little good to take away from it, at least also because its a mainline game
okay but I just want to say, Sunflower's animation in this game when it produces sun is so cute
Compared to the previous 2, this is a direct upgrade”
A. The first games artstyle was classic everyone knows it
@@Slimeakku Oh thanks for clarifying. I was a tiny bit upset at that comment as I grew up playing PvZ.
We still love the original one (PVZ 1)
Dont we?
despite the graphics going back to 2D, nothing still beats the 2nd game’s artstyle
22:55 I dislike the fact I can’t use blover as a plant, why would I not wanna place blover for no reason on my lawn????
About the lawnmowers, I think you have to take into mind that
well yes, 5 lawnmowers can make it too easy.
I would much prefer if:
We have 5 mowers or
The single mower can target 5 lanes
Have two difficulties that change that.
Not putting sunflowers in the back should be a sin
Pvz2 is probably the best game right now
I honestly don't like the fact that they change the art style every game. I would be fine with them just keeping the plants vs zombies 2 art style.
This is a good review I hope they consider much of what you said
4:06 "and wall nut makes funny noises"
As a Pea-Nut user, I'm dying of Laughter
While I may disagree with you with the lawnmowers being gone, the rest of this video is spot on
When I saw this video, I was shocked to see just how professional this is!
Some of the stuff you said here he already said (like the levels being short)
It's insane how I literally haven't heard of this game once until this video
This feels like a really dumbed down version for 2 year olds. The 25 per sun was never a problem in previous games so the only reason I could think of them making it 1 per sun is to make it easier for 2 year olds.
Pvz2 is not timeless it's about time
I love the music in PVZ1 where the music got more instruments depending on how many zombies are on the field
I hope popcap don't die because i don't care about anything i only care about to play the game
the artstyle is a point of contention but can we talk about the animations? zombies no longer eat plants, peashooters shoot sideways, and every limb feels like a rubber band with how stretched and warped they get. for a tower defense game, i feel like snappier animations work better than bouncy ones. this game just feels too kiddy, like replacing more practical playgrounds with plastic-y foam-floored ones.
I agree and i dont know too if they are gonna fix the issues but i hope they do anyways are you excited for this game?
The issues with the tutorials are interesting because George Fan once did a GDC talk (Called "How I Got My Mom to Play Through Plants vs. Zombies") Where he talked about how to make interesting and good tutorials.
Great video, I definitely agree with you
As much as I hated seeing Chomper and snowpea as money costing plants I even hate it more seeing jalapeño and cherrybomb as powerups Seriously at the very least they could’ve chosen plants that weren’t classics like healthseeker and shadowshroom Just anything that didn’t appear in the first.
Amazing video!
My requests to devs:
1) Make the game complete, with Almanac, etc.
2) Make it not a mini game. I want to decide all by myself, not follow tutorials, because following something is boring
3) Make graphics more realistic and less cartoony
4) Don't forget about common sense for example zombies usually go to people for their brains, they won't go to volcano. Don't try to copy previous games, make the game so like it's new, with common sense, players are not robots.
I love this pvz3 version but I also loved the old artstyle and gameplay more but this is okay
Question how the hell is sun shroom going to work if sunflower is 1 sun
“Lives counter”
Well thats sucks
I hope that in the full version you can pick your own plants. That's one of the biggest problems to me.
no more crazy dave = no more fun to play
I’d just like to be able to try the third game rather then just hear about it for 4 years then get nothing
Honestly all bad things aside, i love the new art style, it really looks cartoony and fun, i just find the Peashooter's eyes quite strange, but im getting used to it
Still hate the overly cartoonish art style. I wish they would go back to the pvz1 style.
