I love the sprites of the generics as well. Changing jobs and getting a new sprite was always a great feeling of accomplishment. Dragoon by far is my favorite sprite, with Ninja and Black Mage after.
Glad you agree and some nice choices! That is why I love Generics so much seeing the changes, custom names and so on.
I used to play one spot a lot in a lategame area... I forget the name.. it had a large kind of hill, in the center. You could get some pretty hard battles there, and I remember getting some battles with a team of dragoons or knights or something... sorry I forget the names and whatnot.
Baack when I was playing this game when it came out, and I was farming to train monsters, and poach them for items, get rare abilities, and all that. hahaha What a game!
I'm sure you'll know which zone I mean, with the huge hill in the center. Try the rare battle there if you haven't... iirc it was a pretty deadly squad that I did not expect.
I want to do a fresh playthrough of this game. I have only ever played the original PSX version, and I'm skeptical about the WOTL and whatever newer versions. I never took or saw any issue with the translations when I played it, so I think I'd rather just keep the form I know and love. I would use a PSX emulator, ePSXe, or maybe there's a better one now? It can be complicated to setup well, but once it's all setup, it's great.

I've done and uploaded all of the rare and cool battles for the most part so I do like that place you are talking about, I love this game and someone gave me the idea to upload the cool or special battles so I made it a mission.
WOTL is great too but some name changes and the difference in sounds can throw people off and if you play with the slowdown. Duckstation is the more modern and current PSX emulator but I say play and do what works for you.
I personally play WOTL more as I think its emulator is just solid and super easy to use. PPSSPP.

There's also one in a desert terrain. I like the special ones where you get an ally.

Have You got Dark knight mastered for everyone in your party? I started a new save focusing on make Ramza a Dark Knight since the first battle, and the requirements are so heavy that I ended up with a level 63 Ramza in chapter 2 that totally broke the game. I wish enemies in story battles had their levels and skill sets matching Ramza's current level. Seriously, get trought chapters 2 and 3 with Ramza alone.
Not for everyone but the vast majority of my characters do lol. I play and love this game too much. Oh wow nice that is quite the grind. You have a point though. There are only a few battles where the enemies scale with you but its mostly some monsters in required story battles but even then I can totally see your point.

Chapter 4 practically everything that I've shown so far is Chapter 4.

I know you figured out the answer but yeah that archer in particular is partially mix/maxed with a delevel and relevel lol.
I wish they would make a Marvel edition of FFT. I'd be trying to get Gambit & Rogue & my all time favorite, Loki..💚💛🖤🤩🥰😍
Never say never. I think they even made a tactical game with the Onimusha series too haha
