I don't comment often. I am a baby boomer. I was a teenager in the 1960s. The big thing to do then was to get involved, make a difference, be socially aware, stand up for what you believe in. Now all of that is well and good but in the end, what are all those hippies doing now, the ones that lived that is. I guess some of them are still trying to make a difference but I think most of them just fell in to step with earning a living, raising a family and wondering what happened. I used to overthink everything. That is exhausting and nothing gets done. Once you learn to prioritize and do the thing that is the priority, stuff gets easier, clearer, and manageable. You can get so engrossed in everything around you that you can lose sight of what is important. When you have one of those "Ah Ha" moments, all the chaff just floats away. Now I don't know if what I have said even relates to what you were asking but, I'm a senior citizen and I just say what I like. LOL

Just wanted to say that YOU are one of the few content creators that I pay attention to when a notification comes up or when I check in on my subscriptions daily. You're not going after the algorithm in that cheap way. You care about posting things that have substance. You're NOT relying on AI to create your content! I trust you to be that and actually get excited to watch any new video post, whether on this channel or your other channels.
"Performative outrage." Indeed! The REALLY, REALLY, REALLY asinine thing is that those people refuse to take into account what the "offender's" _intent_ was. It should matter whether or not someone _intended_ to be offensive, but sadly the overwhelming desire to be offended leaves no room for such rational, civil, mature behavior.
This should be the top comment. I've watched for the better part of a couple decades as intent has been more aggressively eroded as having even the vaguest importance in not just this context but every context be it legal, creative, philosophical, or just basic social interaction. My own life has been repeatedly damaged because of this intellectual cancer. It's why I laugh every time I hear someone yet again pull the "cancel culture isn't real" schtick. Especially when, like in Joe's case, they go on to detail examples of cancel culture. These days, we no longer care about what you meant and rather are purely obsessed with a kind of bastard lovechild between consequentialism and interpretive dance focused not on the dancer but the audiences' read. It's utterly bizarre people have yet to question something that takes agency completely away from the speaker and hands all of it to the receiver. What's the point in speaking if I have no control over my own word? It's like a societal equivalent to battered spouse syndrome.
I think there is some nuance here in that the hurt/pain/etc caused by the offensive behavior is in fact real regardless of the intent of the offender. But how we respond, how the offense is addressed SHOULD change depending on intent. After all, that’s why we have murder and manslaughter, right? Because we recognize that for the ultimate offense, intent absolutely matters. It matters in the littlest things too. But I think that some of the backlash in the form of “it doesn’t matter whether you intended to harm” is from folks who have had the difference weaponized against them, trying to dismiss their pain by appealing to intent. Lack of intent can’t be used to deny resultant harm.
Honestly I’ve wrestled with the same mental gymnastics. Then one day I realized I was spending so much energy focused on what people thought of me or what I say. I decided to just focus that energy on trying to be as empathetic and compassionate as I could. Like you said. Making someone mad is easy, but empathy is hard. The out come is far more valuable though. Sorry for the long comment. :) if you read this then I’ll end with thank you. Your channel has brought me more joy and inspiration then you could ever know. Damn it. I made it longer.
This was beautiful. I feel a very similar way. Especially the rant of people thinking they are so... powerful?... by being "the bad guy", saying it like it is. Having tact, caring for other's feelings, and trying to word things in a way that resonates with someone rather than offends them is a true talent.
I get great pleasure from listening to you talk like this. Thank you. It's nice to listen to someone without hearing the phrase "and you won't believe what happened next"...exit to commercial.
Love you too, buddy. The human relatability was a big reason for following. Personally, I don't want anyone looking at me ever and scoff at the idea of making money on fame. But.I recognize people gotta eat and try to reward productive artistry. Please keep sharing.
That's definitely not overthinking. One shop could be gipping you and just using putty on top of the paint and over spraying with cheap paint on top of that, while another could have a body guy who just pulls out their tools and starts slowly and methodically pulling every dent using suction, maybe some heat from a heatgun and patience. Sidenote, just find a guy who does independent work, is reputed to do good work and they'll likely pull all those dents out cleanly. To do this, first you have to establish if any of the strikes removed or cracked paint. That's the go/no-go filter for this affair. So pull up a good flashlight, pop in the evening just before the sun sets and start inspecting. If you want an idea of what this person is supposed to do look up (without the quotes) "PDR" videos (most videos on YT will show the proper procedure). PDR stands for "paintless dent removal". They'll use various tools, from glue to levers and suction cups to make magic happen. I've had it done before and i personally feel that finding that one dude (or dudette) that does good job in your area and supporting them is a better option. Good luck! And it's not overthiking. :)
And then simultaneously it’s way too common that people enjoy making others angry just for the sake of making them angry. It feels like civility doesn’t exist in mainstream culture. We all need to be a little bit more kind towards each other. Both not needlessly offending others, or being so quick to be offended.
Me, an overthinker: hell yeah But seriously, when I post on social media I try to say something meaningful. I hate jumping on bandwagons and saying the same thing everyone around me is saying-not because I necessarily disagree, but because my adding to it adds nothing to the conversation and only serves to, well, virtue signal. But it's not often that I have anything particularly important to contribute, so I don't share much. Of course, I don't make my living on the internet, so this isn't really a problem for me. But I thought I'd share my perspective anyway.
With most of the people on the planet trying to be someone else, or project a presence that is not truly or inherently "them", I find someone who is unapologetically themselves (warts and all) to be a refreshing change. I find shock-jocks, click-bait generators and ïnfluencers repugnant on most levels. You should do more of these. As a philosophical person, I find sharing genuine considered opinions and encouraging others to share theirs (even on topics largely considered taboo), then considering the differences, allows me to develop a more expansive view or understanding of how we all perceive the world we live in.
I think its important to have some plan about what you want to say. After that you do have the benefit of editing. Never put yourself in the same category as tiktok. Some of those people really need to follow the first two steps i described, and some should never speak in the first place.
Joe, I'm an electronic engineer and between working for a large corporation (think of a lower case letter between 'H' & 'J') and being a one man show with my own biz for the last 20 years, there is this thing teams at that corporation used to fight (and usually fail at defeating) they (and now I) call 'Feature Creep', or better, 'Creeping Elegance'. There's nothing worse than having a great idea or product idea, simply great & elegant the way it is, and either you or someone else saying 'Hey! Let's make it do this too!' or 'Wouldn't it be great if it'd slice bread for ya too?... Yeah... I feel your pain of overthinking, Brother. To borrow from old English, "The bane of my existence" is the cry of the intelligent man about over-thinking... for some time now. 😒😏
I loved your thoughts on the ideas of making people mad and saying everything that comes to your mind. It reminded me of a conversation I had with a wonderful well-respected man who told me that weird stuff comes up in everyone's mind, it's what we do with it that determines what kind of person we are.
Joe, you hit the nail on the head. I am reminded every day that our generation has significantly different values than we do. Discipline, learning, and taking accountability for one’s actions has been replaced by a severe lack of respect for authority, relying on being able to Google the answers instead of retain knowledge, and blaming everyone else but themselves. Keep doing your part to educate the audience you’ve earned. Let the rest watch something else.
As a Millennial, not too far away from Gen Z, I can TOTALY resonate with you here. When I was in my teens we were all about shutting down bad people and using the internet to bring upon real justice to ones that had been getting away with it. But now it's like it's gone into overdrive, I'm always overthinking everything I post and I'm not even a creator. I'm 28 and I've already had words I've said shut down for fear of being too strong. I think the intention is great but at what point do we stop? Maybe we don't and maybe it's moving faster than ever as technology moves faster than ever. This deserves a whole podcast in itself... anyone want to start a podcast with me?
I love these so much. It's so hard nowadays to find someone who says "I'm just going to tell you my opinion" and make it the whole way through without getting angry about something (as you said, it's easy to get people upset), but your opinion is always so nuanced and well-thought-out, held tight where it should be and held loosely where it should be, it's just such a breath of fresh air to watch.
I think people want to hear more from you because they can relate. You're not a genius, a scientist or anything like that. You just get curious and like to share that. You do that with care and therefore viewers can follow your train of thought. It's enjoyable.
Extremely relatable. I am constantly plagued by ideas and thoughts that I want to actualize in some way, but it's the overthinking that overloads and prevents me from doing almost all of it. And for videos like this one and other TMI ones I've watched, I think there's a very high value in showing your person-ness. It's so easy to see creators and the like as flawless pillars of some sort, unable to see what is being struggled with or just how relatable their existence actually is. But I'm on the spectrum and overthinking is one half; the other half is being unable to shut up or find a stopping point. But I think some of that comes from the absence of thought delving in general life among most people and craving it. With the overwhelming mass of click-bait surface-thought content everywhere... it gets really hard to actually feel some connection and relatability to the world instead of only seeing ones own existence as an outlier. I've always been someone who sees small talk and casual existence as 'too easy'. I firmly believe exploring the nuances and details of just. being. human. is far too often ignored. I get it, thinking really hard about things whether it's intentional or not requires a lot of effort. And I agree with you on that sentiment; Isn't it better to put more thought into what you do? I do believe this is one of the best things for character development and self discovery, for further understanding the world and others, and to hone critical thinking and analysis skills. But I think this unspoken rule of not thinking so much is overly enforced by SO MANY SOCIETAL FACTORS, both ones controllable and uncontrollable. People being over worked, not getting cared for, not being educated well, not having any time for themselves to legitimately recover from just the daily stress of being alive. And as much as I love diving into topics and exploring it all and how much I believe that should be a normal practice in everyone's life, I don't see this changing any time soon. Shutting anyone down for having big thunks is a surface level thought/reaction and it's just to be expected. I just wish you and others felt safer about sharing the thinking side of things, because that's where I find comfort in being alive. I also believe this the jewel (or bane, if you prefer) of just being an intelligent human creature. Did I have a point or any sort of conclusion in that huge jumble of words? No idea, probably not. I know you were talking about more specific things regarding overthinking, but it just made me think of that concept in general. Anyway, I hope your own overthinking habits aren't too debilitating because boiiiiiii I sure do enjoy hearing your thoughts and seeing your creations. All of it certainly keeps me thinking, and sharing thinking about someone else's thinking makes thinking easier. I think
That you are so reflected on your role and set high standards on the content you produce is exactly why I subscribe to you. It is difficult to provide "healthy" content while competing with "fast food". Thank you, Joe. I'm going to reflect more on to what I give my attention now.
I couldn’t agree with you more regarding people posting nonsense just to get clicks. That’s 90% of the reason I watch your videos is to learn about things I might not have known. As far as the personal stuff goes I think you do a very good job sharing things just enough without overdoing it, I like that you do all of your normal videos and then every once in a while, throwing in the personal video to kind of catch us up on your personal thoughts and views. It’s the perfect blend ! Keep up the great work.

I missed out on a lifetime with the love of my life because I was so busy overthinking and second guessing myself. I feel you on this one Joe and appreciate your perspective.
Yeah i know that feeling. For me it sometimes goes as far as me having formulated something I think covers everything.. but then remembering that many people these day seemingly can't read more 100 characters before their brain starts acting. And they start reading stuff that isn't there.. and then complain about your post and when you're like "dude did you read the 3rd paragraph of my post?" And then they're often like convinced that i edited the post retrospectively .. even thou there is no (edited) marker.. So often I just don't post at all if I know i got better things to do than argue with somebody on that level. And I mean I even try to put in paragraphs to give some visual help to navigate my posts and try to cut the paragraph as short as possible.
lol, I literally did the thing you're talking about in this video; typed an entire response, then deleted it because I started overthinking whether or not it was worthwhile, or "valuable", or whatever. But I'm retyping this anyway, because I appreciate you talking about the struggle. I find it so hard to get beyond the narrative that was shoved into my brain while growing up that I shouldn't show things to folks until they're ready (whatever that means), & that my actions are so much more important than my thoughts that I should only ever let the work do the talking. But it feels like there's such a deluge of content pouring in from all sides all of the time, so talking about the stuff I've been working on before, during, and after I've worked on it seems like the only way to give it any life beyond the time I've spent on it. And getting beyond that early life conditioning is Hard. Thanks for sharing, and reminding me that the lessons I was raised on aren't necessarily correct, or useful for the world as it is today. And for reminding me that people do want to follow along with other peoples' lives/experiences.
You are totally right it is getting very difficult to express your self as opposed to whatever theme... respect does not even matter anymore, even with respect you can end up in trouble... it is getting out of hands.. especially in US, Canada and Spain ... and you are one of the good guys in the youtubeniverse
Aw Joe, you’re so relatable! I too overthink to the point of atrophy sometimes, and it has cost me a lot through my life. Trying to become more of a man of action, day by day. I do agree with some of the previous comments though - what the world needs is more thoughtful content, like yours… but that also doesn’t mean you can’t goof off a bit once in a while too 😊
I'm struggling with the "why would anyone want to see or hear me" thoughts as I record stuff to start up my channel. Cool to know that someone I admire struggles with those thoughts as he ironically creates content that I enjoy while feeling those things. Make me feel some sort of hope and it's encouraging. Keep up the great work, Joe!
I’m just glad you’re taking some time and energy to think about how all this works best for you, because we are really lucky you for all the great work you do.
Joe! The world needs this video. I support free speech, but free speech doesn't mean we should piss people off and share every stupid thought. We need to take more responsibility for our thoughts and what we share, the same way that we need to take more responsibility of our own emotions and not blame others for how we feel. Thanks for being a voice of reason mate! You make my world more sane. 🙏
I relate. Sometimes I write a post about something ... but then cancel it. Sometimes that's enough, and ends up as a therapy for me (only). Nothing wrong with that.
I know that laugh after the wart comment. i overthink and when given a chance I overexplain. i appreciate the transparency and that you're trying to do more than all those people I couldn't be bothered to watch.
Totally agree that itis easy to anger people. I also find the "Edge Lord" saying things that are shocking for shocking sake stupidly easy and values. These people need to find a personality.
I really appreciate your thoughts and your work, I always look forward to your videos. You've got it right; people need to care more, not less, about what comes out of their mouths. If more people did this, the world would be a more understanding place. Keep doing your thing fella!
I overthink everything. I’m trying really hard not to but it’s now so ingrained in my brain that I can’t change it. It can hold me back. Sometimes I just go for it and damn the consequences.
I've had a similar experience on social media in general, woth an arc that started 22 years ago on Live Journal. The more current chapter is easiest to dissect. When Instagram was new, we were real people sharing real life. I made friends there and have watched them and their kids grow up and go to college. As a course instructor in grad school, I filtered my presence because I feared my students might discover my private life. Years later, a violent stalker left me feeling afraid to be seen at all. Between those two experiences of being uncomfortably visible, I rarely share any publicly frank and unfiltered glimpse of who I am any more. I hear you, and it makes sense. Also, I so enjoy your content and brainmeats, I've long thought it would be fun to bump into you somewhere and raise a pint together among friends. So yea, if you want to share more unfiltered glimpses of your thoughts, opinions, and motivations, I'm for it. Honestly, I support whatever makes you feel heard and most comfortable.
I can't put my finger on it why, but I look forward to your videos more than any others. Your main channel especially, but I still watch all of your TMIs as soon as you post them. Keep doing what you do!
Joe, you have a wonderfully thoughtful thinky brain, and I appreciate the thoughts you are willing to share. My brain tends to run extra thinky too, and I have decided to no longer define it as "overthinking" as that term feels very dismissive of the very normal functioning of my brain. "Overthinking" has too often been used when I have shared a truth that someone just didn't want to hear. Whether people like it or not, the world benefits greatly from the wisdom of thoughful thinky brains. Monotropism rules 🤘
Hey Joe, for me the simple truth is that I love to hear you talk and ramble. You have a bright mind and you present interesting stuff. I for one, salute you. Ramble away, kind sir.
I absolutely agree with you Joe. People overshare and don't think about what they are saying before they put it out there. And I agree with @Creativeisolation opinion.
I have a million "over thought it" moments. Perhaps the biggest was not taking an interest in computers for fear of following my older brother. After I started my job as a scientist, I realized the programming was the most useful and rewarding part of the job. I've spent years making up for that mistake
Dude in a world of influencer scabs, funny pets, and robo Readers over stolen content... I consider you a wonderful breath of fresh air. Thank you for overthinking
Your experiencing the same thing painters go through, you start painting for fun, then paint for the thrill, then with an idea and purpose forgetting you started painting for fun questioning the other artists that never stopped painting for fun.
Hi Joe. I discovered your channel only a month ago or so and I have practically binge watched you ever since. I am starting to worry that I will run out of videos. Haha. I stumbled on this video and I have to say, I got a little emotional. Thank you for being so honest. It saddened me to hear you say that you don’t feel that people want to hear what you say. I think you are informative, hilarious and educational in all of the topics I am interested in (you do practically cover everything). I have heard you come up with some ideas that I have only thought myself. I’m like, “I get this guy” I am a musician of over 20 years and you can see from my UA-cam channel that I have struggled on this online journey. I can’t seem to find the right things to post or the motivation to post. I admire that you actually did it and are doing well. It is the hard work that scares me. Like you say in the video, I have been over thinking it for years and here I am. I turn 40 next year and I feel like UA-cam has passed me by. I would love to really make a go at it but don’t know what to do. I totally agree with you that it should be informative. I think part of the reason I resit instagram, UA-cam, etc. is because I am not interested in the clicks and likes, and the pointless content that is filling peoples minds. I started a channel called World To Rights around COVID times interviewing people impartially about their opinions on what’s going on. Again, that didn’t last long. My plan was to keep that going through all subject and build it. But I didn’t. Anyway, I didn’t expect that to turn into a rant. Maybe it was after watching your honest video I just let it out. I never comment on UA-cam videos, I am part of the silent majority. But I thought I should say great work and please keep it up. I think you’re the best channel I have found on UA-cam. Signing off from rainy Manchester, England 🤘
I think those of us who want to create, who want to add something new to the world, something of value, also run the biggest risk of bottoming out, flatlining, overthinking and immobilizing themselves through that process. The effort I have to put into managing my own limp-dicking around, monitoring my flatlining tendencies and trying to stay ahead of that curve is often excruciating, frustrating and absolutely impossible to get a grip on. That is I think because our premise is one of perfection, and that quest for perfection is a major killjoy. That is why these seemingly effortless vlogs about the trivials in life are made with such ease. And I'm jumping to conclusions here, oversimplifying someone else's effort to express themselves, so maybe I owe _you, person_ an apology, but this verbal diarrhea doesn't require any second thought, just one simple idea, and the absence of any deeper thought or filter other than the Nike tag line _Just do it!_ And I agree with you, that is not what this medium is at its best at. I love your thought process, your contemplations, the research you put into your work, but I also missed some of these more off the cuff sort of outings like this one, so clearly I am wrong about most of what I just wrote, and the truth lies somewhere between the verbal diarrhea and the overthinking and debilitating perfectionism you and many more of us suffer from. *Good is good enough, your thoughts are welcomed by many, you are allowed to exist and to express yourself, you are of value, you need to be heard, and you do change the world. I say this to myself normally and now I say it to you. As an affirmation. Thank you for sharing!*
That's why it's so important to keep up with what is happening in the world. I live in the Netherlands and have a subscription to 1 high quality news paper. I also follow tons of decent journalists. AND I follow dozens and dozens of researchers that do research on the topics I'm interested in. Because I'm super focussend on a specific topic it's easier to follow all the relevant scientists in that topic. Pro tip for Dutch people: FollowTheMoney, decorrespondent, and a couple other independent journalists are awesome.
I started making videos in the FPV space 6 or so years back. I made videos for me and never wanted to make it my profession. I never thought that I could ever replace my 9-5. the stresses of just that made me walk away. I applaud you for making that jump and feel your overthinking.
When i caught myself overthinking, it is a sign that my soul is out of balance. Thinking about something, takes the same amount of energy as actually doing it, but with added dissatisfaction and lower self-esteem. I have several regrets about overthinking something to the point of quitting, or fear of even starting them. My proudest moments are released in real-time, relying on my trusted intuition. Thankfully other people seem to remember them more as well. No matter how much time i spent overthinking, i am always limited by my current state of mind and environment. In contrast my gut reaction uses all of my life experience, and it is more objective and wider.
What is powerful about the second channel is that you can have more freedom, knowing that the main channel allows you to bring something to the discussion this channel allows you to express yourself. I trust you to be a positive influence here even without thinking.
I think your videos are fabulous and you as a person are down to earth and draw us normal people in. You don't want the bandwagon dumpster fire people and if people are hateful over the dumbest things, I hate it for them that they clearly let their ego control their life. Stay the awesome person you are and love your shows!!! ❤ I used to overthink and over analyze everything until I realized that at the end of my days here, no one's opinion down here matters anyway so if they love me great, if they don't love me well good luck to them. 😏
Hi Joe. All of the things that you talk about in this narrative are things I love about your work. Overthinking can sometimes cause us to stray from our true values. Just be you because you’re great! (And based off your success, it’s working just fine)
I loved this! Warts and all! 😉 With age, I have gotten much better at not overthinking as much. I'm much better at leaving my comfort zone. In my 30s, I passed up an awesome opportunity for a job in San Francisco because I overthought it and asked for others' opinions. It's one of my regrets in life. It's also the thing that pushed me to do things that make me uncomfortable. I don't want life to pass me by. I want to live it to my fullest ability.
Hi Joe. Thanks for putting this out! It was greatly enjoyable to me. I struggle with overthinking all the time... and also trying not to offend anyone at all. These days, all you have to do is blink your eyes the wrong way and someone gets offended. Many Americans do not understand what true hard times are, (think Stalingrad in WW2). We are at the point of occupying ourselves with attempting to find something to pick on and tear-down... and it's usually stuff that absolutely does not matter. I don't have a YT channel, (yet), and I'd really like to find a more effective way of dealing with the hate and vitriol that's out there... about nothing! I don't know how you do it. Thanks again.
Dude, l really like you. I like your sense of humour, I share your interests, I admire your views on life. I hope you find a way to share yourself with us and be completely comfortable doing it. Myself, I run a role play group, and that requires a lot of thought because just throwing one encounter after another at the party makes no sense, there has to be verisimilitude or else I feel cheap. So I think about it a lot and I think it pays off. Anyway, thank you for sharing your time with us in the well thought out way you do. Love you too dude.
Joe, you are a voice of reason. There is a shortage of quiet contemplation in the world; please keep doing what you do. It is appreciated. Thank you!
Completely agree!!!!!

Yep
I second this wholeheartedly! Happy to see more of you, Joe!
Existential angst is a common trait of moral, ethical people... I guess that''s why I like your videos.

I feel your pain. Just be yourself. People who can't cope with that are not worth your time.
@@Overeasyeggsoee Joe's not a douche bag. Your comment is not relevant here.
" overwhelming desire to be offended" - That's it. I'll steal that, if you don't mind. Sums it up perfectly.
ODBO - there you go! We have a term to describe the world today!
@@royvarleyNOOO making it an acronym is part of the problem! 😂
Thoughts and prayers.
Most everyone loves a good yarn.... I can remember listening for hours of Jean Shepherd talking childhood memories way back in the early '60's.
Hearing you talk about how exhausted you are reminded me of that song Madeline Kahn sang in a certain Mel Brooks movie.
Love you too, buddy. The human relatability was a big reason for following. Personally, I don't want anyone looking at me ever and scoff at the idea of making money on fame. But.I recognize people gotta eat and try to reward productive artistry. Please keep sharing.
We love you too Joe. 🤗
Joe's new standard intro to the TMI channel is "So I haven't done one of these in a while..."
I saw the comment you mentioned, and was thought it was nuts. It feels impossible to make everyone happy all the time.
Same. I'm currently overthinking which body shop to use for hail damage repairs
Thanks to this, I'm now planning to overthink overthinking next week 😅
Thank you Joe! I look forward to all of your videos and thoughts. I think you are a true gem in the sea of UA-cam uniformity.
I hope we all can agree that society as a whole has become a lot more sensitive to things that we shouldn't be sensitive too.
And then simultaneously it’s way too common that people enjoy making others angry just for the sake of making them angry. It feels like civility doesn’t exist in mainstream culture. We all need to be a little bit more kind towards each other. Both not needlessly offending others, or being so quick to be offended.
Me, an overthinker: hell yeah
But seriously, when I post on social media I try to say something meaningful.
"There is nothing easier in this world than to make people mad"
*mid-roll ad hits*
*instantly rages*
Anxiety and overthinking are some of my greatest strengths, I've learned to embrace it
Joe, you hit the nail on the head.
If you only knew what us Boomers really thought of you. You'd be shocked! You bunch of mamby pambys.
All together now " you kids get off of my lawn." Love you Joe
I appreciate the hard work you put into your content.
I think people want to hear more from you because they can relate. You're not a genius, a scientist or anything like that. You just get curious and like to share that. You do that with care and therefore viewers can follow your train of thought. It's enjoyable.
Thank you for this intelligent , heartfelt, post. You are a great guy, Joe, and I really enjoy what you do!
Speaking of a good yarn... "A Prairie Home Companion" w/Garrison Keillor was a classic.
for some folks if they're not bitching they're not happy
Because it makes feel like they’re doing something.
'approaching' middle age..........oh bless your heart
Thanks Joe!
I’ve definitely been feeling that ‘world is changing without you’ vibe
Always appreciate your thoughts!
I think
Joe, you're going deep, and f***ing honest, and I love it. #realtalk
That you are so reflected on your role and set high standards on the content you produce is exactly why I subscribe to you. It is difficult to provide "healthy" content while competing with "fast food".
Thank you, Joe. I'm going to reflect more on to what I give my attention now.
Thanks, Joe!
Love you!
Keep doing everything you feel like you wanna do, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it!
Great vid. Watched for many years, never subscribed or commented until now. Too much over thinking. - another gen-x Joe from Texas ( now in WI). Thanks for all you do. You will never be cancelled in my house.
I missed out on a lifetime with the love of my life because I was so busy overthinking and second guessing myself. I feel you on this one Joe and appreciate your perspective.
I hear a lot of me in you. Overthinking, getting overwhelmed, self doubt, and in my case - self sabotage. 🙃
Truer words were never spoken Joe.. awesome video.❤
There is a clear difference between click bate and promoting your channel . Joe does little promotion but absolutely NO click bate. Love you, Joe.
lol, I literally did the thing you're talking about in this video; typed an entire response, then deleted it because I started overthinking whether or not it was worthwhile, or "valuable", or whatever.
Wonderful to hear a succesdful content creator express this need for substance, afterthought, and need for meaning. Keep up the good work!
You contemplate your options and what you're going to say but while you're busy thinking your chances slip away!
haha, not me, sitting here for an hour typing, deleting, re-typing, deleting again, repeatedly. Nossir. I hope things are well, Joe.
You have integrity, Joe. Very few people care about integrity, these days, or even know what it means.
I was just thinking about an ode to a house yesterday, and here you are with an ode, how coincidental
Joe. We want to hear more from you. For the record. It's OK to have to hear that from time to time. Keep going. ❤
I really appreciate your thoughts and your work, I always look forward to your videos. You've got it right; people need to care more, not less, about what comes out of their mouths. If more people did this, the world would be a more understanding place. Keep doing your thing fella!
I prefer the thinking posts. Thank you for what you do.
This is like listening to my own brain. So relatable.
I like how you end all your videos with “luv you guys”. We love you too Joe!
I have a million "over thought it" moments. Perhaps the biggest was not taking an interest in computers for fear of following my older brother. After I started my job as a scientist, I realized the programming was the most useful and rewarding part of the job. I've spent years making up for that mistake
Dude, I
The reasons I enjoy your channels are because you put thought into them, and have a point, and exhibit the artist in you.
Dude in a world of influencer scabs, funny pets, and robo Readers over stolen content... I consider you a wonderful breath of fresh air. Thank you for overthinking
There is nothing more difficult than trying to have a conversation with people who cannot see beyond themselves.
I’m like, “I get this guy”
I am a musician of over 20 years and you can see from my UA-cam channel that I have struggled on this online journey.
Love your reflection & share on the real reality Joe ... rings true.
I definitely overthink too much. Especially when I was younger and with that being said I’m not your age yet, so I know I’ll start again soon 😭😭
thanks...been breathin' for years...gettin' pretty good at it as well
I think your videos are fabulous and you as a person are down to earth and draw us normal people in. You don't want the bandwagon dumpster fire people and if people are hateful over the dumbest things, I hate it for them that they clearly let their ego control their life. Stay the awesome person you are and love your shows!!! ❤
I used to overthink and over analyze everything until I realized that at the end of my days here, no one's opinion down here matters anyway so if they love me great, if they don't love me well good luck to them. 😏
Not easy being a regular citizen, Joe. ❤
Joe, been with you for a long while. Do you man. You're content is too tier! These rants of yours are good too!
i don't say many things... but your words in this video are exactly why i follow you!
Overthinking has stifled my professional life
