I imagine the resergance of the Backrooms creepypasta via Kane Pixel's excellent found footage videos of that probably timed well with Anemoiapolis so I wonder how much of Anemoiapolis's popularity rose as a result of coinciding with Kane Pixel's videos going viral and reviving the Backrooms/Luminal space thing. :D

I'm glad you made this because not only did it sounds you had some sympathy to the people who enjoyed the peacefulness, you also made me realize the horror aspect of liminal spaces, which is solely that a liminal space is a place that should be filled with people or light, but has no people when it should, and that clicks something in a person's mind. I understand how scary that could be if i think really hard about it, but as an introvert, my fear of being alone is drowned by my desire _to be_ alone. If i had food and fresh water and some sort of entertainment, i would be able to last a long while by myself enjoying the loneliness
which in this game is broken by the fact that there is another entity following you, and that's the main horror aspect. it would be more scary if they put the Immortal Snail trait onto that entity and you would have to run away all the time, and you'll only be safe when you have finally escaped to the open air
Even before liminality became a trending topic on the internet, I used to have so many dreams when I was a child that I would be exploring places like these.
They were both spooky but fascinating, and I would wake up disappointed that it wasn't true. That there wasn't some kind of labyrinth beneath my school, that my church didn't have endless backrooms, etc

The whole liminal space thing has always had a very direct meaning when I see it or experience it, for almost all of them, to me at least, I get the feeling I shouldn't be here at this time, and/or I shouldn't be here alone. That's why I really wish someone would create a term for that specific video game unintended horror where you're in a no-longer populated multiplayer space, especially when you feel like you actually aren't alone.

Before I watched this, I downloaded and played the game to get a fresh experience. I'm ashamed to say I wimped out in the locker room before the shadow thing even appeared; I was just getting too freaked out to continue. Still, it's been a long, long time since I've been so scared by anything, let alone a video game. Kudos to the developer!
I was hoping you would review this, liminal spaces are such a big part of our lives. They've taken over my life almost, I cant stop thinking about them it's just so.. inteicing, like extremely important yet not well known.
I absolutely love how popular this game is becoming while only being in the beta stages, I've been following the creators progress for a few months now so anything to do with it excites me.
Sometimes it’s the concept itself that’s amazing. For example vampire survivors which experiences the same right now.
It’s beta demo costs 10~ dollary doo’s though. That’s not a fair price for a walking simulator you can watch online anyway.
I've been following this game for some time and I really miss the update to where there was music playing in the first couple of areas, the lazy river, water reservoir, and the missing dead body from the first update weren't there. (I just hope that dead body from the first update actually entails something rather it being some kind of cut content)

I just played this game recently, and I have to say my experience with the locker room was really similar. I actually had to quit and come back to it later because I couldn't get myself to finish it.. creepy stuff.

Anemoiapolosis remind of the backrooms though, the endless twist and turned halls with the buzzing light, trying to find the way out or to another area or level, having a feeling that something is chasing you or watching you, it's quite a nice game tho

if you wanna know what the intro song is well its called Giygas intro from earthbound
I’ll see if I can put it into better words this time I was with a family member and we were in this building looking for some thing but then we went to the back rooms of the building there was no one there maybe just a few staff but that was about it but when I looked to the right side of me I saw this place that looks like the back rooms I was just as mono yellow wall with a Mono yellow carpet would like a fluorescent light on the right side of the wall so I told the family member I was with let’s go explore that area so we went to explore it when you first walk into it it kinda looks like the back rooms but when you get past the hall way it looks like a Hotel when me and my family member exploring it eventually went back home and then we explored it another two times before he brought two other family members with us the next time So then we started exploring it more because there’s more of us and the only place that I remember in the dream is there was like this pool Area I wasn’t like one of those lemonade space areas that freak you out I just kind of gave me more of the feeling of loneliness because everything was modern nothing looks like it was left in the past I just I got the feeling of loneliness and then outside of the pool area there’s like a few doors that are hotel rooms and then we eventually started playing hide and seek in there for some reason don’t know why when we were playing for a while I saw some other people on there it wasn’t the staff but they were just other people so I brought them with us on our journey because that looks like they were exploring a place to and I just remember me and my family just aimlessly wandering and running in that place and then I had this feeling I feel like their place is infinite of just very big but the more we started exploring it the more I got that feeling and I still like this little hole in the wall that was at ground level so I looked in the hole I saw this Mini futuristic Office area for small people like people are like a half an inch tall some thing like that when I saw that I called my brother to look at this he came over and looked at it and he said that’s weird I wonder if that’s for and soon we started exploring the place more then the dream ended. but this is what the video made me think of my dream I had like a few days ago I try to put as much detail as I can but you can barely remember dreams most of the time.
Dreams and things like this are very interesting. For the backrooms part I think that is also part of most human fear, especially how the game in this video kind of reminds me of the pool level from the backrooms creepy pasta.
