How To Connect IKEA Tradfri Remote & Bulb to Philips Hue Bridge - both remote & app work confirmed

There are multiple videos how to connect tradfri remote with this method but I wasn’t able use both remote and apps after following their steps. I found out this method allowing to use both remote and/or app to control ikea bulbs via ikea tradfri remotes!
Chapters:
00:00 First you need to reset the remote and pair it to Hue bridge
02:00 4 times short press on remote - red light will blinks
04:00 Phase 2:
05:00 Repair the bulbs if you paired them before after deleting them in the Philips hue app:
Phase 1:
First you need to reset the remote and pair it to Hue bridge
4 times short press on remote - red light will blinks
- important step: wait for 6-9 secs
-Go beside your hue bridge and hold the button while using hue bridge essential app - touch link button in the app at the same time
Phase 2:
Repair the bulbs if you paired them before after deleting them in the Philips hue app:
1. Delete bulb
2. Reset bulb (6 times toggle on/off the Ikea bulb(s))
3. Wait for blink
4. Important Step: Shut the light off by the physical switch and Turn back on
5. Pair bulb with remote - hold the button behind the remote beside the bulb
6. Important step: Turn off light by remote
7. Search for light in the hue app while the light is off by remote (not by the switch)

So helpful with the ikea remotes as they are the cheapest! Easy pairing with that app you referred now I can use them both via app and remote on hue bridge yay!!

Thank you. Took me a bunch of goes, not convinced I was doing anything wrong but was only working with switch or hue app. Now on both, though something of a lag with the Hue app updating status (in comparison to proper Hue bulbs)

Hey I just tried it with the styrbar remote and it seemed to work, then I added the lights (both colored e14 bulbs from ikea tradfri) back to the hue app and all of a sudden I couldnt use the remote to control the lights anymore, any idea why this happens?

This does not work for IKEA smart plug and switch. There must have been an update so it will never work with both hue and the switch

Amazing that worked like a charm now I can use both remote and app, please share more about these stuff. How does it work in HomeKit when using ikea bulb ??with hue bridge

Does this not work with regular hue bulbs? It seems to only let it pair with either the remote OR the app but not both

I have Ikea Rodret remote, and Tradfri on/off switch, this method does not work. Btw. there is free app, Hue Essentials which allows to use TouchLink feature for free.
How to be sure, that the remote succesfully paired with the Hue Bridge 1:05 ... ?

I don’t have Philips hue bulbs, but I have Philips power outlet and Philips hue portable light using with no issue on the same setup

Yes either you can use ikea hub (dirigera) or hue bridge for these zigbee devices
