that JLC dead beat is a true gem for less then 6000 imo. The movement maker with a unique balance wheel. I think there are others that use a similar tech but it still very very watchmakery special. Love it
Hi Bill. One critique is that I think you rely a lot on GPHG. Yes, it's a good source of information. But it's just like the Oscars. If you don't participate, you don't get nominated. Also, just because a movie won an Oscar, doesn't mean it's good(The movie might be dog trash, but the make-up artist won an award). But you know all this, but people out there might not.
Hi Rasmus, I cannot think of a better single source for excellent information about different watches. I am well aware of depending on any single source, but so many beginners will see a ton of yelping about Rolex, Omega, The Holy Trinity and ... the usual suspects that they'll never know about watches by Habring2, Laurent Ferrier, FP Journe, Ferdinand Berthoud, Christopher Ward and a host of really excellent horology...many of which are more affordable than 'the usual suspects.' As a recent member of the GPHG Academy myself, I will let them know-this is the point that Rasmus makes! Take care, Bill
Great video Bill. I have two of the "Best Ever!" watches, one in hand and the other coming in the next couple of weeks. I would also love to own an A Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk someday, although I don't really see that happening. It's nice to dream though. Best regards, Brian
"Every watch we wear is a used watch", brilliant, Bill.
It doesn't take much to go from Brand New to Used, Gasparm. Take care, Bill

I think Bill uses the CPHG as an easy source of information and all watches are shown in details on movement including prices.
