Most of us remember JFK because of his tragic death, but his powerful words should also live in our memories. Some people risk their lives for the betterment of society - and regardless of their short-lived life on this planet, they leave behind immortal ideas that will continue to thrive as long as we share them. So far this video is not getting clicked on or getting many views...Does anyone think I should change the title? I don't want it to be cheesy, but maybe there is something more catchy?
You again wonder why it is he was killed. It was because, he was a visionary. A man who understood the responsibility we had as a world. He understood what we were becoming and wished to slow it down or stop it. Wanting to lead us towards peace, but also personal freedom. So again, you ask why he was killed?
All great leaders make mistakes. We are all smart and dumb at the same time. Like all men he didn't always do what was right, however, he set the nation marching on a great path. This is a path we should resume today.
Jim Jones well technically you’re wrong about 2 of those things. The bay of pigs was an Eisenhower era hold over that JFK had really little say over as he was lied to multiple times by the intelligence community and JFK planned on pulling U.S troops out of Vietnam by September 1964 and they were only there in the first place because again it was Eisenhower era hold over since 1957. JFK inherited a senate that was constantly in gridlock and a very dishonest intelligence agency and inherited many failings of the Eisenhower administration. Makes you think how much more he would’ve accomplished if he’d won re-election and then his brother Robert winning the 1968 presidential election.
@Jim Jones the forces at work were behind the military issues, his dissent to these plans is what got him killed. Really no excuse for not seeing this with the info we have today.
The irony when talking about Kennedy to think Trump is in the same category is absurd. One is an educated man who inspired a nation to achieve absolute greatness and lead the world. The other is isolating America, does not understand basic science (or maths or literature for that matter). Not saying Bush or Obama had it, but Trump is the absolute antithesis of American greatness through science and knowledge and hard work...

Another great video by After skool. Thanks so much for sharing this one. JFK was a great Patriot. Hard to believe he held the same office that's now held by Trump.
adam roberts, show me a single speech from trump that is this inspiring, and this well articulated and that has no bragging or anything where he mentions his own "great" achievements then come back to me and instead mentions mankinds achievements as a whole.
@@Dimitri88888888 I didn't say that he gave an equally inspiring speech, I just said that saying trump isn't a patriot is unfair, most presidents (all presidents except for Clinton in fact) have loved this country. And I also highlighted the fact that they shared a lot of views, typical liberal
adam roberts, dude i don't get why you called me a "typical liberal" lol. I would of voted republican if I had the chance but I just can't fucking take trump seriously. Theory: The stereotype of american patriotism came from this speech. I say this because... well listen to it! JFK was encouraging every american out there to get off the sofa and be productive! And it was very moving... Now if i'm wrong and american patriotism came from a different source well....... I stand corrected
Wow! How strong and powerful is this speech. I didnt know it in all extension. I'm happy to get in this video. Nice job @AfterSkool. Well done, JFK. It shows us the mindset of a people who is looking to the future with the right intention and courage. Good for us to have had previous leaders like JFK and his colleagues. I cannot prove if man reach the moon, and this is not the case here, but the attitude to face the unknow. How many technologies we have today because the science decided to develop tools to go outer space. Congratulations @AfterSkool.
I have wondered for years what JFK meant by "Do the other thing," Thank you for this vid. Now, I know the entire message. Thank you. May the Dream be with you."
Just one thing, it's widely regarded that the catalyst for the industrial revolution was born in the English Midlands where canals are plentiful and we combined with fire to create steam that drove all the early mechanical processes.
We do it not because it is easy, we do it because we want to find out how much we can accomplish, and despite the others alleging that we cannot achieve it, that we cannot be the best that we can offer, that we cannot be honorable, have dignity, and pursue truth, nobility and goodness of the kind that is helpful to everybody in an age where we see people abuse power, abuse relationships, abuse knowledge, we do it anyway. Why? Why choose to do something great? Why do something good? Why work so hard? Because we believe that we have something, anything, inside of us to offer, which we believe will help the people around us, our families, our friends, and our relatives. Because no man lives alone, and no man comes on the list of great people if they ignore the principle of sacrifice, and abide by the law of living the average life. We do it because it IS hard, if it was easy, wouldn't everybody do it?

Wow, what an amazing orator I had never known how deep and amazing the words of JFK were i realized just now why everyone felt cheated out on a brighter future with the assassination of our president John Fitzgerald Kennedy and his son who had the same genes ideas and words and leadership that flowed so freely and effortlessly as did his Father John.
It's a shame that we in Europe (Austria) don't had/ have such inspiring leaders. They seems invaluable to a peoples ambitions when the 'horizon' is the moon or more aptly put 'beyond the stars' instead of fighting for against the wage gap or to reduce CO2 emissions to some set ambitious value, which are nonetheless ambitious goals but frankly they are on the ground and not in the stars.

What happened to that mentality of human progress? Everyone in our world today seems to want to regress and go back to nationalism, war, segregation and greed.
