Headcannon: Reed loves Sue’s cooking. Sue is a terrible cook but Reed has a bland palate
Given the kind of guy Reed is, I half expect him to not care if food tastes good or not as long as it has enough nutrition and calories to sustain the body.
@@CTheng I do seem to remember a scene, from Civil War, I think, where Sue gives a breakdown of Reed's favourite meal and why he likes each part based on its nutritional value. I could be wrong though.
@@CTheng Reed seems like a food pill kind of guy.
...and Sue boils her ribs. smh 😄
@@HankChinaski27 TIps are for boiling(Salted of course,) but my god. RIBS?
"We'll find her Crystal. Medusa was last seen by Alicia yesterday." - Mr. Fantastic.
Ummm....
Sure, Reed was being super uncool, but you try telling the wife you DON’T want to go shopping with her and her gal pals!
@@jpboursaw4469 I think Bryan was referencing that Reed said that Alicia saw Medusa yesterday, and Alicia is blind.
Funny you should mention action figure butts. The current toyline of DC action figures made by Spin Master normally have butts that are just flat and used for copyright info, except one: Nightwing. They went out of their way to give him a finely sculpted butt.
Oh you've gotta be kidding me.
I don't know why, but know I want marvel to make a FF playset and give sue a nightwing butt, just as a reference to this one comic that is probably forgotten about. Also, I love that dc purposefully gave nightwing a fine butt.
Your Peter Parker voice and Batman voices are my favorites. Those poor Japanese kids get misplaced twice!!
Dude, her Batman voice reading Poision I'vy's love note?! "Sooner! Sooner! Sooner!" Kills me every time!
@@seandaeley7079 he sounds like he's on cokecaine
Nothing says Holiday shenanigans like a group of orphans.
"Charge it!" was used on an episode of the Flintstones from the 60s.
Duh. Duh Duh, charge it! Betty and Wilma's battle cry from the Flintstones.
They also did it in the 90s movie which I am unashamed to say I am very fond of lol
the artstyle does remind of flintstone and the jetsons
We like what we like, I’m a fan of GI Joe: Rise of Cobra 🖖🏾
"Dont encourage the shippers", too late. Spideytorch is my otp.
Sporch?
"Make it awkward; make 'em see it from the front." Sasha - 2021
All the CasCom fans with 3D Printers or who sculpt custom action figures: "Say no more. We got you, fam."
The Sasha figure collection will only have one figure, but an infinite number of wigs.
What scale you ask? Classic 3 3/4"? 8" Mego? 11.5" Barbie? 4.5" Playmates Star Trek? 10" or 12" Bratz?
Yes. All of them.
Just not life size, that's for the folks making Robot Sasha.
I believe the "charge it!" line is something Wilma and Betty shouted in The Flintstones. I can't recall if it was a single episode where they said it repeatedly or over a number of episodes. Always enjoy your vids!
It was one episode.
Oh, they said it repeatedly! Over a NUMBER of episodes! It's almost a catchphrase. Lol
RIP Darwin Cooke, man had such a style, and made such an adorable story.
Christopher Daniel Barnes is a classic, especially as Symbiote Spider-Man, but I love Josh Keaton and Yuri Lowenthal's takes, they understood the assignments.
I'm thin, but built, and have tone thighs and rear (even had a girl in highschool grab it, probably lifetime highlight), so I want my action figure to look like a quarter can bounce off it.
Lol I still randomly hear "I'll chase you to the ends of the Earth SHOCKER" from the symbiote Spider-Man arc in my head sometimes.
@@CasuallyComics So much energy in every word like "You can't escape ME!"
Plus, when Mary Jane's clone disappears and he screams "NOOoooOoOOOooOOO!" Or Spider-Carnage's "FORGIVE MEEEEAAAAAHHHH!"
@@CasuallyComics Christopher Daniel-Barnes is Spider-Man in the way Kevin Conroy is Batman. I don't believe it is a 90s' kid bias. It's a simple unrecognized fact!
I see Spider-Man more as a melodrama than a coming off age story or a wacky romp, so Barnes is my go to mental voice. I'm also 44, so that is part of it.
@@CasuallyComics Once you hear it, you can't unhear it! I fight with my friend about this all the time regarding Barnes vs. Keaton. Keaton is objectively the better Spider-Man, but I love Barnes because...reasons! He was a Disney Prince, after all!
I still love the shoes video lmao. Wow charge it! Is a deep Flintstones cut. Also Flash-man the best double entendre for the win lmao.
Love that Flinstone reminder👍🏾
Please do more videos on Cooke’s work. I love his style and was heartbroken when he passed. The New Frontier is what DC means to me.
This comic is just a simple feel good holiday story. No big event to worry about or continuity issues. It's something where I can just turn off my brain and enjoy it for what it is.
Lanta, bless you. I appreciate it too.
This has everything you'd expect from a Spider-Man Christmas special of this era.
If I were to have an action figure I would want to be mysteriously jacked like Prince Adam.
As a thicc thigh enthusiast I approve of all your voices.
Gotta make sure those lives are saved.
@@thebandwagonfanpodcast ah I see you 😂
I find it telling that a story from 2003 was referencing continuity from the 60’s rather than later. Almost like marvel was grudgingly acknowledging modern continuity was an incomprehensible mess.
I've only seen a few episodes of the 90s series and I still hear the voices from the show when I read the comics.
The show was pure gold.
🤣🤣🤣
seeing Darwin Cooke doing Marvel breaks my brain. Kinda the same feeling of confusion I get when I see for example, Mark Bagley or John Romita Jr doing DC. It just feels weird
Two in one week. We're being spoiled.
Have you looked at Yellowjacket's first appearances? It's seriously f'd up. I'm not talking about the early '80s controversy where he hit Jan, which the writer said wasn't what he had intended--I mean his first appearance and the wedding. I'm not sure I even want to know what Royboy was thinking with that one.
LOL! The baby-sans crying voices were fantastic.
I'm DYING, never heard of that shoes thing, but dear god did that ever improve my day. Also, ladies be shooooping!
This issue was one of the earliest I ever read as a kid and I really enjoyed it! I actually really loved the idea of the Tangled Web series since it feels like it builds a lot more around Spidey's corner in the Marvel Universe. The two standout issues that are "The Thousand" and "Double Shots"
Josh Keaton from the Spectacular Spider-Man is my favorite voice for Spidey
I laughed out loud at Spider San killed Santa! So this worked for me. You can tell how old it is though because would you be able to have a character smoking around kids nowadays?
I love your Spider-Man voice1 It is the only Spider-Man voice over I have ever heard, so it has no competition. But coming first in a field of one is still a win.
The actor who voiced Peter Parker/Spider-man's in the 90's cartoon is Christopher Daniel Barnes, who also played Greg Brady in the 90's Brady Bunch movies!
I'd love to see a Spider-Man show like this :,)
Hahaha I was never into Tangled Web, but this seems like a good wholesome story. I like the cartoonie design, but then again I also liked the TV show Super Hero Squad too. Web of Spider man was my fav Spidey comic.
I like to think Jameson was losing and gaining random kids as he took them through the city to Macys. I love the Flash Spiderman with a chainsaw, give me that as an action figure. Lol.
The 90s Spiderman voice actor is hard to beat and it wasn't the first Spidey show I saw. They were more dramatic back then and I ate it all up.
Favorite Sasha Quote: "A thick thigh enthusiast"
This was interesting. It's kind of a quintessential Christmas story and I love it.
I think the kids crying in that later panel integrated regular mall children coming to see Santa in with the Japanese orphans.
As for my favourite Spidey voice, I think it has to Neil Patrick Harris's, if for no other reason than being able to say that Doogie Howser did indeed voice Spider-Man once.
The moment she mentioned 90’s cartoon Spider-Man all I could hear in my head was, “SHOCKER!! YOU CAN’T ESCAPE ME!!! I’LL CHASE YOU TO THE EEENDS OF THE EEARTH!!!! SHOOOOOCKEEEEEEEEEEERRRRR!!!!!”
DC and Marvel used to churn out oversized holiday specials decades ago which cheered me to no end.
Hey, Christopher Daniel Barnes is my fave Spidey VA, too! I still hear his voice when i read Spider-Man comics to this day
"Charge it" is a Flintstones joke.
Of course Ben Grimm can't glaze a ham! HE'S JEWISH! It's trefe, not kosher! Oy gevalt.
My favorite spidey voice is Dan Gilvezan who played him in Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, because much like you, it was the first one I heard as a kid.
if they were to recast spider-man for an animated series sasha would be my first choice, the voice is just too funny
"..last seen by Alicia yesterday." Seriously, Reed?
My favourite Spider-Man voice is either the one from the 1980's Spider-Man/Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends, or, the 1967 cartoon. These were the first two I heard/saw.
YES! That song is early internet gold. U was thinking the exact same thing the second u said it. Best line in that video is "Fiscal responsibility."
Favorite Spider-Man voice for me is also Spider-Man TAS from the 90s. Also tied for favorite theme song w X-MEN TAS. The original from the first couple seasons, not the last season or two.
I know he really only did it for ten min in a movie, but Chris Pine’s voice fit Spider-Man very well. My favorite is Yuri Lowenthal.
Great, now I want to know how Invisible Woman glazes ham. Thanks Sasha...
The best issue with Rhino is Silver Surfer V3 54, Ron Marz's first Marvel comic. One of my all-time favs.
Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Japanese orphan and Bokksu sponsorship. Make sense to me.
All that missing is a pun from me like, How fantastic winnings combination….
While it's not a single issue story, my favorite Spider-Man Christmas story is during Peter David's Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man (around the time of The Death of Jean Dewolff story). There was a subplot through a bunch of issues of a burglar dressed up as Santa breaking into apartments and robbing them. It ended in an issue that was all about this story so the cover had Santa wearing sunglasses and holding a gun with the caption "You Better Watch Out".
My fave Spidey voice will always be Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends (original)...Like with Batman from the Animated Series, that's the voice I hear when I read the comics!
"Mmm hypnosis"
Kinda wish her eyes were swirly. Like it took a genius to be like yeah here's a tell-tale sign!
Medusa: @.@
This is not the first time Flash has dressed up as Spider-Man. The first time he did it was way back in ASM #5 to scare Peter, but he ended up getting kidnapped by Dr. Doom!
Yay!! Don't know why, but i seem to recall having several comics w/ Spidey swinging around during yuletide snowstorms. It's a Spidey thing lol.
- Flash Thompson as Spider Man
- Call him Flash Man
- Keep thinking of Harry Flashman from the "Flashman" series of novels by George Fraser
- Visualize Flash Thompson as Spiderman with a big 19th century mustache and a British accent causing mayhem all around him. 😳
I’m older than you, so when I heard the phrase “ Charge it!” I immediately thought of the Flintstone’s when Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble would say that as they stormed off on a shopping trip.
5:11 “THEY WERE ROOMATES” 💀
I cackled.
My favorite Spider-Man voice actor used to be Josh Keaton because the Spec SM cartoon was *so* good. But I've played the PS4 game so many times that Yuri Lowenthal is now my favorite and the voice I hear in my head when I read Spidey comics.
I happen to be the person that "Joe" the Security Guard was based on.... That's Jason Bone giving me crap as my boss at Macy's.
Spider-Man and Johnny Storm have a tumultuous relationship back in the Lee/Ditko era, but so did *Peter Parker* and Johnny Storm. They have a relationship that was just as much of a rivalry that was completely separate from the Spidey/Johnny relationship.
The Voice from Spider-Man the Animated Series is also my favorite but I grew up with it
My favorite voice artist was the one from Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends (he also played Spidey in the 70's Live Action series
I love Tangled Web. Severance Package is such a neat Kingpin story.
The same cuz I don't think an action figure can handle that much junk in the trunk
This is one of my favourite comics ever. I read it every Christmas so it might be my most read Spider-man comic. The Invisible woman is drawn with a large 'kaboose' during the fight scenes which I always thought was funny. At the time I liked The Spider-man voice from the ps1 games.
'Twas The Fight Before Christmas?' Great, now I want to see a Spider-Man meets the Powerpuff Girls story.
Oh please. Sasha's Pete Parker is the funniest (best may vary) voice in YT, right there with her Batman voice. When I first heard that voice, what, almost 2 years ago I couldn't stop laughing. Same with Batman. At first you kinda think she's foolin' but she is not foolin'.
“Medusa was last seen by Alicia yesterday” does he mean Alicia Masters, nice to see her re- WAIT A MINUTE
I really like Tobey Maguire's as Spiderman. He really personifies that Nerdy version of Peter. I feel like most of the other ones come off way too cool for the character. Though I do think does a good job encapsulating that quippy nature of Spiderman w/o being too cringy.
I remember reading this as a kid and getting miffed at the Wasp when she said she always hated Spider-Man. It just lowered my opinion of her which is a weird thing to say in hindsight.
The aforementioned Spider-Man Tangled Web #4 is 1 of 2 most thought-provoking single issue comic books I've ever read.
The second book is Fantastic Four #285: thirteen-year-old fan, Tommy Hanson, set himself ablaze while trying to become his favorite hero (guess which F4 member).
Favorite Spidey VO is Josh Keaton from Spectacular Spider-Man
The voice I always hear is Rino Romano
And sometimes your voice for him when he's acting extra nerdy
I recently learned that the guy who voiced 90s Spiderman, Christopher Daniel Barnes, is also the voice of Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid.
Now I just want a little mermaid redub where all the lines are from 90s Spider-Man lol
9:26 Sasha can definitely pull off an evil laugh.
My favorite spidey voice is Josh Keaton.
how did I miss this when it came out? Love Darwin Cooke (rest with pencils), goofy fun. Dug the festive music at the end!
You should do Franklin Richards and Rachel Summers kid. I thought they had one in some future. That's all I remember.
Glad you covered this classic spidey has some of the best Christmas stories next to this I'd also recommend the King in Black doctor doom and iron man have to fight symbiote santa
Another winner! My only drawback with the channel is that you don’t put enough content out.
Once a week for such great stuff is a long time to wait! I want more!
(I realize you’re a wife & mother and your time is limited. And after all family always comes first! Merry Christmas!)
I found the story to be a light bit of fun- nothing world shattering but enjoyable. As for my caboose if they can make it how it was about 30 years ago, I'd like that.
My favourite Spider-Man voice was Neil Patrick Harris from the 2003 cartoon that no one seems to remember.
I remember it & was about to say the same thing! He’s got a good emotional range in his voice.
"Boost it!"
Gonna say it with that charge it energy.
Whoa, throwback with the Shoes song!
Doom and Namor are always fighting Reed on who gets Sues ham lol
Aaaaaaaaaaaargh! Sasha! LOL I swear, I think I have this comic, or the Valentine's Special one, or maybe both. Now i have to go through my comic book boxes. LOL Darwin Cooke was a master of the comic art form and he is missed. I'm so glad you went over this story, I have to have it, because I remember reading it, don't i? I'm going to be digging through comic boxes over the holidays aren't I? LOL Serves me right for not having them in order. I am crazy in love with the artwork, and I honestly love these kind of books that focus on a different aspect or give the background characters more focus type of stories. I wish there were more books like this at Marvel and DC. All that said, if they made an action figure of me, I'd want a butt like Nightwings lol
Thanks for this awesome side quest (my search through the comic boxes), for reminding me of Darwyn Cooke and such a cute classic tale. If I don't have it, I will get it. LOL I love your channel and your reviews and recaps. Happy Holidays to you and yours. Can't wait to see what you've got in store for 2022. JLA/Legion would be cool. I'm totally buying it, cuz I love the Legion. Just a suggestion. :D
Ooh, I read Flowers for Algernon in high school and I have heard that there's a Rhino story that was inspired by it. If you should fall down that rabbit hole and make a video on it, I wouldn't be mad.
Merry Christmas Sasha and Happy Holidays!
Darwyn Cooke is missed. Being an older gentleman I would just like my ass back, looking a little bit like Kermit the Frog back there. You know for my action figure.
Fave Spidey voice is Josh Keaton from Spectacular Spider-Man
Referring to your question about favorite Spider-Man voice, I have to go old-school and say the voice of the first Spider-Man cartoon: your fellow Canadian, Paul Soles (RIP). Walloping Web-snappers...
10:15 "HEYPETERYOUWANNASEEMYNEWCHAINSAWANDSPIDERMASK?!"
"Charge it!" is a reference to the episode of the Flintstones that lampooned the (at the time of its recording) growing use of credit cards. Betty and Wilma got cards and went on a spree, running into stores yelling the phrase. It was definitely an episode of it's time, but a fun callback if one remembers it (mostly at this point from syndication as kids).
The level of sassy Sascha in this video is *chef's kiss*
I enjoy Drake Bell's Spiderman (it was the first I heard) especially since he's palys Black Spider in Young Justice. Fun little meta wink.
"NO CANADIAN BILLS" sign next to the cash register.
Hey! (looks at how much our Canadian dollar is worth today) Ok, you're right.
Happy Holidays Sasha and family! 🎀 🎄
Crystal unicorns to all and to all a good night! 🦄 ☃️
Fav Spidey voice is the Paul Soles.
I have to say thank you for the Shoes clip. That video is a huge influence in mine and my sister's lives and my boyfriend refused to watch it. Because of your clip he was FORCED TO!! MWUAHAHA! OMG SHOES!
Whenever someone mentions Crystal I can only think of that time when she and Pietro had sex on a carpet, where she told him to glow slow for the first time in his life. And whenever someone mentions Janet I just remember that she had sex with Magneto, at that point in time, her friends dad.
I think you and fellow comic book UA-camr Linkara are neck and neck for my favorite Spider-Man voice!
Merry Christmas... There's an omninus from Dark Horse Comics of Jin Starlin's DREADSTAR... May 18th...
Like most anthology series, Tangled Web was a mixed bag. Some months it was good, other months it was just average or downright awful. But that was the fun part of it. I always get it mixed up with Webspinners, another Spidey anthology book.
The Rucka story about the hitman reporting to Kingpin is a classic. Flowers For Rhino is pretty good. And Behind The Moustache is one of the best single issues all about J. Jonah Jameson.
REED: Spider-Man!! Robbing a Department Store!! At Christmas time!! What brought you to this loooooowwwly state!?!
SPIDEY: It was…it was…SOAP POISIONING!!!!
ALL: Grooooooannnnn!!
Happy-happy-joy-joy all, and to all an action figure! Or casual wear. ‘Cos really, Anson Mount, who played Black Bolt in the TV series can rock it, but does Bolt actually NEED more breakable things in his life?
