My grandma used to sing this song to me...and my children...ALL the time! I lost my her in 06. It's been 8 years since that day and my heart is still shattered into a million pieces. She was the epitome of health, always the one driving HER friends around, extremely active and VERY young for her age (72). After a physical and some other tests we found out that she was a stage 4 cancer patient whose case was TERMINAL! I found out and a few days later went into premature labor (2 months too early). I know it was from the stress of knowing I was going to lose the only person (at that time) that I loved almost as much as my mother. She had ALWAYS been there, every time I called. To watch her wither away...to watch her SUFFER...was excruciating!! Trying to find something GOOD out of such a horrible time, I found pleasure sitting next to her and listening to her argue with my grandfather and her brother...both of whom had passed years earlier. She would get in such HUGE fights with them that it was humorous! I had to find some reason to smile thru my pain after all! On March 4th, 2006 she finally lost her battle and we lost her. It was my son's 3rd bday. I had already lost my paternal grandfather the DAY my son was born....moments before my baby boy came into this world. I lost my aunt on his 2nd bday. And then I had to lose my Gma on his 3rd bday!! Now we celebrate my sons bday as well as my gmas and gpas bdays into HEAVEN on the same day! That hole in my heart will NEVER heal...the pain just dulls a bit thru time. There were two things that brought me a LITTLE peace when she left us. First...she was at my mothers house under hospice care. When she passed my mom left the room to call hospice and when she came back my grandmother had a HUGE grin on her face...from ear to ear, showing all her teeth! It was beauty coming through during such loss and sadness. Secondly, just moments before we got the news that she passed, my "birthday boy" (age 3) got out of bed, came into the room my husband and I were in and said the following, "GG has to leave now. She said that she loves us and will always be with us. She will miss us. She says goodbye for now." Word for word. I wont EVER forget them! Literally 2 minutes later we got the call that she had died. Both my babies spoke to her on a REGULAR basis for YEARS! They told me things that I didn't even know until I asked my mother, who hadn't shared those stories with them. I also have a very close family friend who is a Medium. I am BLESSED to be able to use her in order to speak to my grandmother...which I try to do at least twice a year. It's so wonderful KNOWING that those we have lost are still HERE with us! I know many dont believe in psychics and mediums and all that stuff...but after what I have PERSONALLY witnessed, I am FIRM believer in them! Again, the things my children have shared with me and the things that my friend has said, all PROVE to me that she is still around. I wish I could talk to her myself though. Only once, since she passed, have I actually HEARD her voice. She said, "Hey sweetheart!" That was it. It was clear as day...like she was standing right beside me. I still SMELL her too from time to time. It's incredible the love that we can STILL feel from her, even 8 years after losing my gma! I would do anything to bring her back, but I know that's just not possible...so I will wait until I meet up with her in Heaven. I am sure she will be the one there (along with my mother, who will have prob passed prior to me) to take my hand and guide me to those Pearly Gates!! ~:)

So touching, reminds me of my wife's parents, they had a beautiful poem that they read to each other every night for their entire 61 years of marriage. My wife recited the poem to her mother as she was passing and with one of her last breaths she mouthed the last sentence with her!

He is in nursing home now.
I visit him with warm meal that I cook everyday and feed him.

My mom used to sing that to me as a baby but I did not grow up with her love I was taken away and adopted by a very abusive woman. I have since met my mom and we do have a good relationship!
