    I’m a nurse.... I can’t sing but I remember staying way past my shift to hold the hand of my dying patient. He had no one. It’s these small little acts of kindness we nurses do that no one else sees. Bless these girls 😇

      Some of us do see...we love and adore you for the care that is unseen. My beloved daughter was in a coma after suffering a TBI, she had tubes in every orifice, her brain was so injured that it tried to squeeze out of her brain stem, she almost lost both legs and her right eye. She had teams of doctors, for her heart, lungs. bones, eyes, ….one bad report after another! It was an ICU nurse who spoke words of healing in my ears, it gave me strength and lifted me up so that I could withstand the fear that gripped my mothers heart, After staying right by her side for over 3 wks., even napping on the floor next to her ICU bed I made my way outside of the hospital for an hour. When I returned a nurse was holding her hand and weeping. I panicked and asked what's wrong? The nurse replied, "Nothing, she just reached out and grabbed my hand and I did not want to let go." I will never forget this extreme act of compassion that would of gone unseen if I had lingered a few moments longer. You are loved because you are love, some see.

      @Christopher Hughes I know nothing about you, your circumstances, your faith (or non faith), your age, health, etc. But something about your comment touched me in a way I can't even describe, so I don't need to know any of the above to care about another human being. Just please know that from this day on (October 19, 2020), you won't be as alone as you think, because you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I've already said two prayers for you, and will continue to pray for you. God is always with us, and He does hear our prayers and our cries. Sincerely, Joyce

      Syed Abdulhadi Jesus is THE way THE life and THE truth. The only way to the Father in Heaven is through Him. Jesus IS God Almighty and it is through HIM and HIM alone that you can even see the Father In Heaven. Father Abraham AND the prophet Muhammad, both know that Jesus is the way. Now. You would be wise to seek HIM and Him ALONE and repent of your sins.

      @catdogorboth7087 4 роки тому +16

      Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens. Wow you are the only one asking for attention. You are copying and pasting the same comment over and over again. No, not all nurses are horrible, there are definitely some out there, just like there are horrible cops, or political leaders, or people of all races. There are bad people no matter what. There is no profession that you can say everyone is bad, unless of course it is the type where you are breaking laws and things like that

    • @08emily89
      @08emily89 4 роки тому +8

      I’m so sorry you must have had bad experiences with nurses. There’s horrible people in all professions but there’s also the good. My mum was a nurse in a hospice, so caring for people that were dying, she did this for 35 years of 40 years spent being a nurse. A lot of nurses do things like this. Some will stay hours after their shift has finished to stay with someone so they’re not alone. They will arrange for them to see their pets one last time, or to see their son or daughters graduation. It’s cruel for you to say she only did this because she was being filmed. It’s very likely she did this to be kind. I hope the next time you or someone close to you needs a nurse you’re cared for well

      Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens. Wow that’s harsh. Out of curiosity why do you say that ? I’m only asking because I experienced the exact opposite with the nurses that came in & out of my life. This particular nurse works in a part of the hospital where people are dying(oncology ward)so one has to have a lot of compassion for the patients you help. Not one second of what Olivia did for Margaret Smith was for show, (the only people in the room with them while that was being filmed was another nurse checking on Margaret & the sweet lady’s best friend, who was the 1 filming the 2 of them singing together.)Not only did I see the same love & compassion 1st hand as a little girl, I spent the majority of my childhood in & out of the hospital on the children’s floor, but my mom works in palliative care, meaning hospice so she deals with this kind of thing regularly. She is one of the toughest, take no crap from anybody kind of nurse but she is absolutely full of care & compassion for her patients & no matter what, their needs ALWAYS are at the forefront of everything & she will do all she can to be sure she does all in her power to get each individual person anything they need or want. And I’m not saying this simply because she’s my mother but because I’ve seen what she’s done firsthand. So I have to disagree with you that nurses are horrible people, granted there are the odd few that get into the field for the money but the vast majority do this job & work insane hours because it’s what they love it’s a calling & they have a desire to help people & to ease pain & help someone feel better. How did you come to the conclusions nurses are the worst people on the planet ? I’m genuinely intrigued.

You show compassion, heart and love to others who need it, especially during times like this! You develop a bond and relationship that goes beyond nurse - patient. While I really wish I could have been there with him and for him I am happy for these two nurses that did this for him.

    All of my best friends are nurses and I'm an MA myself. Nurses are simply amazing.
    Aside from the medical field, I do a lot of youth ministry work and I sing and play guitar. (I'd rather sing with people because I get terrible stage fright but I've been known to do solos in the right situations😬) One of the most profound memories I have was joining a friend with her family after work one day still in my scrubs and her mother had gone in for a routine procedure and never regained consciousness. I stayed as long as I could into the night but had to go home. But I think next 2 days there trying to help if I could. By the 3rd day, the difficult decision had to be made and the church was told. I had grabbed another friend's guitar and I had been playing and singing with the family in her ICU room. Usually the nurses want it kept quiet but they let us do it and even opened her door so they could hear better. Next thing I know there's about 30 people there from church with more arriving and it was full chorus. It sounded amazing... I don't think I've had sustained goosebumps for as long an amount of time as that... This went on for hours and people would leave and be replaced by more people. I played until I couldn't feel my fingers anymore and then my friends uncle (brother of the patient) took over the guitar and we kept on. When his finger gave out, it was back to me. This went on from morning until about 2am the next night. The life support had been ended in the middle of all that singing but she kept breathing on her own so we kept singing. The patient's 2 kids (my friends) and I were still stuck on singing so we kept it up after people went to sleep. She was moved to the med-surge floor for comfort care but we'd gotten requests from some of the ICU patients and some of their families to go back up to ICU and sing some more. Their mom was dying but singing was what was holding them together. It was one of the most profound things I've ever experienced and I swear, I could have heard angels singing along at certain points. I'll never forget it or what it taught me.
