Oh, Man!!! I've been working on building up my equipment for the last couple of years and I'm almost there..... I don't have a good interface and the new recorder I have doesn't have near the preamps I need. I've got a pretty good gaming laptop (bought it so I'd have the power to utilize good recording software). Honestly, I'd love to get an Apollo Solo, a couple of more drums and cymbals to add to my kit and a Peavey T-60 guitar. I'm stoked about getting back to recording and I'm looking forward to seeing it happen soon! My name is Brian Hubble and I'm from Grove, Oklahoma.
Awesome video. I love how it encapsulates the whole process from set-up to conception through the execution. The full track payoff at the end was great!
Santiago Jaramillo Toro, from Colombia and my dream mobile recording setup is: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 or solo (is the only brand I ever use), a Arturia Microlab MIDI controller, Reaper as my DAW with the plugins I already have and a Kiesel Osiris 7 strings with fishman fluence on it!!!
Thomas M. from Portsmouth, VA. Dream rig is small enough to fit in a backpack. Currently using a EVO8, a medium juiced laptop, helix native, and some Bose ear buds. I love the compact aspect of this travel rig because it works great while deployed on a US Navy ship floating out in the ocean.
I'm Steve Hoole, Gadren City Michigan. Really the same computer and interface, The arturia mini keyboard ,the ltd HEAD SH-1007 Evertune and audio technica M-50x for headphones
Hayden Hohns, Norway My dream rig is a portable one as you have here, and I'm partway there. I currently have an Ibanez EHB1000 (headless bass) and I believe it fits into a Mono guitar case. My plan is to buy the dual electric guitar case they sell, so I can then fit a light/ergonomic guitar in it (e.g., an Ibanez S series) along with the aforementioned headless bass. So that's bass/guitar sorted, then a nice Macbook Pro and the UA Apollo Arrow/Solo interface with some nice headphones. My Sennheisers are quite nice so I'll probably stick with those (HD50 model from memory?). Then with the MIDI controller, I'm unsure of, but maybe something small, but either keyboard-shaped or a grid-like one can suit. So this rig has: a) an electric guitar; b) a bass guitar; and c) a MIDI controller for adding in pads/basic keys/orchestra and punching in some drums. Maximum features for a (relatively) small size! :)
Rodiebob Rockwall, Tx I am currently using an older operating system box I built with an Jamlab maudio interface, it had a rack onboard, with Cubase and some Ableton for a daw.. I am about to build another so i can migrate all of my old stuff. Looking at a ratcheted up tablet or notebook with absurd Ram, Running 10 optimized for recording.. I think Prosonus USB with Midi, four Channels in/out is what I have procrastinated about.. That unit you are tickling is pretty solid.. Everything I have looked at claim it has large stones.. When I built my daw back in the day i stayed away from notebooks due to the amount of box to notebook comparison and longevity.. Take yours or apart of yours with you is mandatory im sure.. The lil controller looks fun..Lol..Cool retro drums it was pimping! Tight wires Bro!
Joe from new york, a beefed up macbook pro crammed with plugins, UA apollo interface, OP-1, sennheiser headphones, and a kiesel headless for traveling ease
Jason, Killeen, TX, Apollo solo, gaming laptop with stickers from all of the places I’ve toured (so zero stickers), hello kitty acoustic guitar with an evertune bridge and painted on fishman pickups, and one wireless earbud because the other one is hiding somewhere.
Patricio Posse, Miami FL. Dream setup for the go: Apollo Solo, My Jackson RR1 or my Les Paul Axcess, those bose look great! and an AKG 414 into a MacBook pro, Logic Pro X and probably Amplitube 5 or ML Sound lab plugins! It would be a great addition for my channel! Wish me luck!
Rick Hollis, Gold Coast Australia. Seeing as I can't afford to use Pro Tools anymore after using it for 20+ years, I'm on the hunt for a new DAW. If I had a UA Solo interface to use with my MacBook, I'd be able to use Luna and that would complete my dream mobile setup right now. Hell, the guys at UA would even get a really cool demo out of it.
Chris, Cardiff, UK I love the simplicity of this, just me, a macbook, this interface, a pair of Amphion two18 studio monitos + amp500 for killer sound and Neural DSP plugins for tones of course!
Apollo Solo and Luna sounds awesome!! My name is Nishant and I'm from Kathmandu, Nepal. I usually carry my Laptop, audio interface ( currently using M-Audio M-Track 2x2M), a pair of headphones and my mobile phone for recording.
Hey, I'm Diego E. Martinez, I'm from L.A. in California. I've definitely been wanting an Apollo Solo, and while I have a Keylab from Arturia on the way, for travel purposes, I want a Minilab from them, some audio technica headphones, and a Strandberg Boden Metal 8, the Sarah Longfield edition. Great content as always! Thank you
Toby - Portland OR - my dream mobile recording setup is a MacBook and a UA Solo. Basically your hardware setup is what I would use if I were going to record a song on a beach somewhere.
Travis Buddingh from Johannesurg, South Africa! Dream setup is easily a Macbook Pro running Logic, Archetype Plini plugin, my Suhr, and then hopefully that Apollo for my interface
Jonathan Connell, from France. My dream rig is my headless nk guitar, it's light and sounds amazing even unplugged, really gets the creative juices going! PC user, so Reaper obviously, BIAS FX, GGD Drums and Djinn Bass... Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and some nice headphones and it's go!
Jonathan from Ypsilanti, MI. My dream mobile setup? A proper gaming laptop (which I'm rocking right now, if you count the cutting edge of 2017 as "proper") with a Thunderbolt port, and something from UA as the interface. Never used one, because as a Windows user, Thunderbolt is hard to come by. Anyway, pair that up with a decent mini midi controller (I use a Novation), and basically any guitar with an Evertune. 'Cause if I'm travelling, odds are I'm changing climates from cold, wet Michigan, and I don't want to mess with tuning stability when I want to write. Otherwise, I'd just leave the guitars at home. (edit): Oh yeah, and an SM57. I didn't list it, just like I didn't list cables, as it's gonna live in the same pocket, haha.
Dim, Worcester UK, Gibson Les Paul, Apollo, Any of the Neural DSP guitar sims, Superior Drummer, Logic Pro X, Macbook Pro 13.3 M1...thanks man great content
Will from Madison, Wi Dream setup is my mac with logic pro, toneforge plugin, Sennheiser HD600s and a dual port guitar/mic interface that can be powered off the laptop
I am Stefan W. from Austria. Currently I am studying Information Management. To clear my head between online courses I like to work on some Tracks I am recording for fun. My dream setup would be, a MacBook Pro, Apollo Twin, as DAW i use Reaper with Fortin Amp-Plugins. For Guitar I already have a mid range Ibanez but in the future i would like to try a 7 string headless with some bearknuckles in it. Hope you are doing great. Stay healthy and safe! Best of luck to you and your loved ones. Cheers
Derrick in Nebraska. My mobile rig is pretty similar. Really, I would just want a computer that's powerful enough to support any VST's I needed to get the job done. Really good tune. Reminds me of some old Satriani or Via. Especially with the 'Ohs' toward the end.
Ben - Austraila. Im in window shopping mode now for a simple mobile recording setup and yours is looking pretty good. Macbook pro, apollo solo, one of the various mini midi keyboards with a few assignable pads, etc paired with good set of headphones so i can only annoy myself would be the ducks nutz
Ian Mather, Australia. Definietly keen on the Apollo Solo or Twin interface for mobile recording, along with Audio Technica M50 headphones and the Neural DSP suite!
Hey Trey, Glen Carter her from Vic ,Australia, my dream mobile rig is almost the same as yours, Apollo interface -logic-with the iRig keys but with the iRig mini monitors
João Vítor from São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, Brazil: Macbook, Apollo Solo, Strandberg Per Nilsson 7 and 5 string Boden bass for their size and portability, Audio Technica M50x for recording vocals, Sennheiser HD 6XX for mixing and mastering, Launchkey 37 to control MIDI, GGD Invasion for drum sounds, Aurtiria V Collection 7 for my Prog Rock keys and Spitfire Symphonic Strings, Brass and Woodwinds for my Power Metal dreams.
Adrian from Canada here, my ultimate mobile setup would be Macbook Pro, Logic, Apollo interface, Neural DSP Plugs and Vandermeij guitar. A guy can dream right !?!
Jens Jørgen Gade Kaaberbøl from Denmark. Ideal setup would be a solo with a thunderbolt capable Windows laptop and a c214 condenser mic. Also a pair of audio technica headphones
Kyle Delveau from North Liberty Iowa. Dream mobile set-up would be a laptop, the apollo interface, and my Kiesel Vader bass 5 string. I use Reaper for my tracking and use FL Studio for any additional production that I may need. A keyboard would be nice but I'll leave that at home. Cheers!
Hi! I‘m Felix from Germany. My dream mobile setup whould be a Apollo Solo, MacBook, ik Multimedia mini speakers and my beloved Hapas 7-String! Keep up the good work!!
I'm Jeremy from Texas, and my dream set up is a small healdess guitar (probably a kiesel leia), a small roli seaboard, that exact audio interface, and portable mic of some sort to do vocals. That's it!
Kshitij, from india, my mobile setup. is just my laptop with reaper, usb powered interface scarlett 2i2 and just a closed back headphones, and obviously my guitar. that's it, 🤘 This actually sounds great dude, and the intro sounds like Guthrie govan
Hey there! I'm Michael from Bentonville, AR. My dream mobile setup would be my Macbook Pro with Logic Pro, my Akai MIDI controller, a 4x4 MIDI drum pad, and some sort of Universal Audio recording interface. I recently started learning about DAWs but I've only been able to mess with MIDI plugins because I can't afford a quality interface yet. Love your videos!
Billy Atlanta, GA My ideal mobile recording setup would be a Solo or similar interface, MacBook with Logic, and my Akai MPK Mini. Plus whichever guitar I have on hand, obviously.
Hi! My name is Dan. I'm from Voronezh/Moscow, Russia. Obviously the dream mobile recording setup should be compact. So I would pick a comfortable headless guitar like Strandberg boden or Skervesen shoggie. Pretty much any laptop with Reaper (of course I will switch to Luna if win this amazing interface)) and archetype Nolly plugin in it. Also a pare of a versatile and good sounding headphones like Austrian Audio Hi-X50/55. And the last but Definitely not least: compact audio interface. According to my small research this UAD will do it in the best way. Bdw I'm not sure, if someone mentioned that you would need a cables, haha? So here it is: - iRig Keys 2 mini - Skervesen shoggie - Ernie Ball instrumental cable (the toxic green one, of course) - this beautiful UAD Solo - Laptop - Archetype Nolly - Austrian Audio Hi-X55 headphones Hope I was on time with this comment. And hope to win this baby. Otherwise this setup will be just a dream, for some time at least)
Oli, Montreal Dream setup would be an Arturia Polybrute and a keylab 88, Abasi 6 string (all-white), herman miller embody chair, an Apollo and someone's liver to afford all that.
Cool video! It was fun seeing you write and record like this in real time. I've got an Apollo X4, I love the thing and I like the UAD world but damn, they're really lacking in amp simulation, especially for metal. The only viable solution is the Engl Savage 120, and even that sounds outdated and limited compared to the new top dogs at Neural DSP and Overloud TH-U for instance. Where's the UAD Rectifier? Where are the 5150, JCM 800/2000, and all the staples? Personally, I use the UAD ENGL Savage to record with the DSP but I use TH-U for the final track.
Hi guys. James from Akron Ohio. For sure Apollo Solo. Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster (it's so pretty). Korg Nanokeys Studio keyboard. EXdrummer, EZbass. Logic Pro X with all the plugins I can find. And a good set of AudioTechnica headphones.
My name is Chris Waters and I’m from Kentucky. My dream mobile recording setup would start with my Kiesel Solo S6. I’ve definitely been looking into the Apollo Solo, but with my current budget, it’d have to be something like a Scarlett 2i2. Any decently fast PC Laptop would be perfect and some Bose Companion 2 monitors.
Howdy I’m Tyler from NJ and my dream mobile rig would be as wireless as possible - wireless guitar transmitter, wireless midi keyboard, and if latency via bluetooth ever gets there, wireless headphones/portable monitors. I don’t have any specific model names because I’m not that picky and because there aren’t many options in terms of wireless recording. Cheers!
Name: Scott Where I'm from: England Dream Mobile Recording setup: Guitar: My Schecter KM7 because it never goes out of tune (ever) Interface: Apollo Solo (Obviously!) DAW: Studio One VSTs: Helix Native and Archetype Plini IRs: ML SoundLab Mikko Drums: GGD or Superior Drummer Monitors: Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones Laptop: Dell XPS 13
Alexander Carlin from Long Island, New York Honestly, dream traveling rig would probably be my MacBook Pro, my Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 or any UA interface, Luna especially after seeing how easy this is to use compared to pro tools, an AKAI Professional MPK Mini MKIII, and a Kiesel Zeus 7 headless with Fishman Fluence pickups.
Gerardo J. Morales from Puerto Rico and my dream mobile recording setup is the Focus rite Scarlett 2i2, Logic Pro for DAW, any Kiesel (headless) or Strandberg and an Apple Mac.
I'm Mattia Macchidani from Italy! My dream setup for travelling (even though it's almost in my hands) is: my Focusrite Scarlett solo, my Kiesel Vador 7 trem, my Audio technica ath-m50x and (the next purchase) an Akai MPK mini MK3.
Dominique Veilleux from Montreal Canada, i am actually using my fractal fm3 as recording interface with my laptop and cubase 5, that s it thats all . I would love so much to be able to do it with this amazing unit !!! Thank you !
Sam Frost United Kingdom Computer: MacBook Pro Interface: universal audio solo (of corse ;)) Midi controller: something small with a pitch wheel, m audio maby? Guitar: something headless for easy transport, preferably a stranburge
Cory York, UK My ideal mobile recording setup would be Metallicas 'Tuning room' shipping container. I just need the funds and the staff to do it. Side note. It's cute you think musicians are going to be travelling the world any time soon to perform live music
David from Denmark For a more compact travel rig I would probably go with a light-weight headless guitar like a strandberg boden7, apollo twin, one the smaller mac book pros and some closed back headphones
I'm Clem van der Walt. All the way from Sunny South Africa! Cape Town, South Africa. Roli Seaboard Block. UAD Apollo X Twin Duo. Sony WH1000XM4 (Sony Wireless XM1000's Revision 4), I got the Rev 3's, they great. Strandberg 7-string, lefty. Black.
Tyler Philadelphia, PA Scarlett 18i20, .strandberg* Boden Prog 7, Axe FX III, AKG K701 open back headphones Love the video and song! Thanks for the Pro Tools comparison too, Luna seems like what I've been looking for! \m/
Robert Scuta, from Ireland, dream mobile recording setup: MacBook Pro running Logic Pro X with UAD Apollo Solo interface, MPK Mini keyboard, Beyerdynamic DT990 as headphones, and guitar straight to interface or DI Box ❤️
I’m Jacob from Cincinnati
My dream mobile rig would be a new laptop, UAD interface, and a Neural DSP plugin (probably Archetype: Nolly)!

Apollo Solo, Strandberg Boden 8, Akai MPK Mini, Beyerdynmaic DT 770 headphones, Shure Beta 87A mic, and maybe some Talent . . .
I’m Pierce from Long Beach California, I almost have my dream mobile setup, that Apollo interface would be better monitors and that Apollo interface!
Cheers!
Lucas from Indiana! My dream setup would be a light headless guitar, a MacBook Pro, an HX Stomp and a good interface to run everything through.

Honestly, dream traveling rig would probably be my MacBook Pro, my Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 or any UA interface, Luna especially after seeing how easy this is to use compared to pro tools, an AKAI Professional MPK Mini MKIII, and a Kiesel Zeus 7 headless with Fishman Fluence pickups.
Gerardo J. Morales from Puerto Rico and my dream mobile recording setup is the Focus rite Scarlett 2i2, Logic Pro for DAW, any Kiesel (headless) or Strandberg and an Apple Mac.
