I'll be the first to tell you, being a Philadelphia sports fan is one of the greatest things ever. You won't find a group of more passionate fans. I've been to many mlb stadiums in my life but there is something about citizens bank park and the environment. The Phillies and Eagles are a huge part of our everyday lives

one thing you will find is that Philly has probably the most "European" fans in the US... extremely passionate, rude, annoying, but also knowledgeable. Most Americans hate Philly fans but for me they are the best pro sports fans in the country.

i just want all of you to know, you will never… i mean NEVER, understand how loud Philly is in october. you literally cannot think or even pretend to hear what the person next to you is saying. if you love baseball, i just have to say when the phillies are in the postseason, it will be worth going and seeing that atmosphere!

i saw ur nfl video where u say u prefer underdog teams, the phillies may be good right now but in American history they are the have the worst win loss ratio of all time, as they are one of the oldest sports franchises in American history. They do have two world series championships but they were multiple decades apart from one another and the last one that we won was in 2008. Last season was our first time back into the playoffs in 11 years and it was a cinderella run all the way to the world series. we nearly won as well. if you like our uniforms you should look up the powder blue uniforms they used to wear so nice.
We Phillies fans are some of the most passionate but also loud and obnoxious, but it’s one of the best environments in sports especially in the playoffs, you need to be a Phillies fan and watch them this October (playoff time)

Atlanta Braves, NY Mets & Philadelphia Phillies all hate each others fans. Mets & Phillies are really close to each other & both fans fill each others stadium. Washington Nationals is close to Philly too (Philly is in between DC & NYC). They are also in our division but we’re originally The Montreal Expos.

5:31 the umpire behind the plate is deciding to call the pitch a ball or strike. In this case, the pitch was clearly a ball, and the umpire called it a strike to end the game. A more "automated" strike zone is slowly being worked on, but situations like this is what keeps the game human, being based on human judgement. Watching an ejections compilation would be fun.
Watch some JT Realmuto highlights. He's the best catcher in baseball and is just a joy to watch.

Finally got to watch this! This video is okay but doesn’t do the Phillies or the postseason games any justice. The NLCS, Game 5 - that sent the Phillies to the World Series (Pennant winner) - was down pouring!! I would react to that game alone. Phillies are the oldest one city, one name team (founded in 1883). Only won the World Series 2x (1980 & 2008). Phillies sold out 5 consecutive seasons in the early 2010s.

Phillies, Eagles (NFL), Sixers (NBA) & Flyers (NHL) all play next to each other. The Eagles owner, players & coach were at a lot of the Phillies postseason games (Sixers & Flyers schedule wouldn’t allow them to go to as many playoff games.) The Eagles were undefeated at that time (you saw the Super Bowl 🙇♀️) & the city was losing their minds having both teams killing it! The major league soccer team (MLS), The Union also made it to their championship but lost to LA the same day the Phillies lost in the World Series.
Philly sports fans (all 4 major teams) are always voted the best AND the worst almost every year. It’s actually pretty funny.

It is NOT “any movement” creates a third strike. What you’re seeing are balls being called strikes that are out of the strike zone. It’s just umpire error … there was a time that all umpires sort of had their own strike zone. Some would have lower zones or higher zones and almost all of them would call pitches an inch, two or three outside strikes if it was where the catcher set up to receive the pitch. But with the technology now that charts what should be “balls” called “strikes” there’s now MUCH more strike zone conformity, home plate umpire to home plate umpire. Still, though, mistakes are made and those “mistakes” led you the wrong direction on the rules.
In the old days, players and teams did not even demand strike zone conformity. All they asked was each home plate umpire call his zone, whatever it was, consistently.
The game has come a long ways.

Phillies are the ultimate underdog team. Haven’t made the playoffs since 2011, came up in a late season push and showed what we were made of. Now we have the best record in the national league and are poised to be a great team for years to come

Wild card has been around since 95 but they’ve expanded the amount of wild card spots and they’re the best 3 teams that don’t win a division along with the division winners making it 6 teams per league. StL is St. Louis

Wildcard is basically the hardest path to a championship. You’re a low seeded team-a team at the lower end of the playoff table.
If your looking for a historically bad franchise that’s been around. Since 1880 and only has won 2 World Series then this is the team for you.( there used to be two teams in Philly, the Phillies and the athetics. And the A’s were much better but they left. Plus we’re the best and most energetic fans in baseball. Look up the Bryson stott stadium sound grand slam. It’s music to the ears.
If you want to support the AL, consider the yankees, though our fans can definitely be annoying or too loud. The thing is that everyone believes the Yankees are too overrated, but they are just good! For the NL I would consider Milwaukee Brewers.
As for 5:30 ish the dude struck out bc the umpire ruled that the ball was in the zone which is a strike (Although it actually wasn’t, but that’s what the umpire/ref behind the catcher said with that hand gesture and big grunt) It was the third strike so he struck out to end the game. You can get strikes if you swing and miss at a pitch and also if you don’t swing at a pitch but it was in the zone (that little floating box)

This is an explanation of the Wild Card: So in both leagues there are 3 divisions for a total of 6 divisions. Within in each league the division winner automatically make the playoffs and are seeded 1-3. The problem with this is that there are some teams who have a better record than some of the division winners but just barely lost their division. So a “Wild Card” system was made. The first one was implemented for the 1995 season, the second in 2012, and just recently they added a third one in 2022, which is why the Phillies run was so great, they wouldn’t of even made the playoffs a year prior. So, in conclusion, the three best teams who don’t win the division are awarded a playoff berth through this Wild Card system. (And btw the champions of the two leagues, which is determined through the playoffs, face off in the final round, the World Series, a best-of-seven series which is the championship)

You should really consider being a Padres fan. They were terrible for a long time and now have a good team and loyal fans who supported them through good and bad. We also have some of the most unique jerseys in baseball, stemming from the culture of San Diego and the city's support of the military. We also are the biggest rivals of the Dodgers. Something you can say that's unique about our fanbase is there are few really obnoxious fans. There are a lot from teams like the Phillies, Dodgers, Yankees, and Red Sox.
