  • Join us as we share the trials and tribulations of how we restored our 35+ year old well on our property.
We have been wanting to get this well working for months. Before we purchased the property, the barn area was so overgrown that we didn't even know there was a well here. So it was a pleasant surprise to think that we could have water out there.
After many weeks of trial and error, watch to see if our water dreams come true ;-)
Having water on the property opens up a whole world of possibilities now - such as planting gardens, camping at the land and even having animals out there, if we wanted.

Not a better feeling than when an inexperienced DIYer’s hard work is successful! Well done.

This definitely gives me hope that we will get our old well pumping on the land we’re about to buy. Thanks for sharing.

We just discovered a water well on our property that the previous owner did not know about. It appears the cattle that were on the property trampled the electrical box. Should we have a professional check it out? I fear they won't tell us the truth about it working or not in order to get business.

Hm that’s tough. We would check it out ourselves first and decide if it needs a professional

We found a metal pipe (with no top) sticking out of the back of our property and never knew what it was. Looks like it is a well pipe (yayyyyy!!) Now to make sure the line is clear and get a hand pump put on.

Bravo - perseverance pays off - and a little bit of smarts too :) I'm just starting down this journey to reactivate an old well and don't know what I'm doing. Thankfully I have a good neighbor with a bit of knowledge. That clay soil you've got there looks rocky and not fun to dig. I hope the rest of your property is easier :)

Congratulations 🎉 I just found out that I have a well under my house & the people that lived here before, used the water for watering their garden🤗 I can’t wait to see about using it again for that purpose & for drinking water for the chickens & my little dogs. I don’t trust the county water & I was going to start using a Berkey water filtration system, so I could also use the well water as my drinking water. God is good 🤗
