- As huge fans of the original Jurassic Park movie, we dedicated a portion of our vacation in Hawaii to visiting some of the original locations for the film. Needless to say, the experience was amazing!

Actually they left the entire thing up when filming was the done but the actual pad was destroyed during a storm
Now eventually you do plan to have dinosaurs on your dinosaur tour, right?

I agree, in the film the gates look closer to the mountains and the actual gradient of the road is straight and much wider than here?

@@_kommandant_3055 I'm not sure how you or anyone would this unless you placed them there. I heard also that the concrete poles represented pretty much exactly where the gate substrates were in kaui, and in the middle of nowhere!

Just Ctrl+F and type in gates. It'll show you the actual location. The location of those posts are not the real gate location because the geography is incorrect

Hate to dissapoint you but that is not actually where the original gates were in the film ( dont listen to the tour guides or what you may have read) the original gates were actually situated about 500m further down the road, then around another 100m was where the t rex paddock was filmed. What you may think are reminants of the old gates actually had nothing to do with the film. You may have inadvertantly drove through the orginal location anyway but the real location for the gates is not in your video. Nice vid tho.

How does you going there make it incorrect? Did those mountains on the other side of the gate in the film somehow move about 100 miles back afterwards or something?

Jurrasic Park is a German WW2 base, you can see it from the helipad from the thumbnail
It seems like they would have found someway to keep the entrance sign up.. Really just because it's such an iconic movie. I get that it's in an extremely rural area though. Did it just rot away?

The waterfall looks incredible! And there used to be a helipad there? The producers left it there after filming?
If I'm understanding it right, it got destroyed _during_ the filming. An actual, real hurricane really did hit the island while they were filming the movie and destroyed many of the sets. The girl and boy from the movie have talked in interviews about sitting in the dark telling ghost stories with Steven Spielberg while the cast and crew were all hunkered down in the hotel waiting it out. Some of the storm shots you see in the movie were shots of the actual hurricane as it was blowing in. Then there's the joke about Richard Attenborough sleeping through the whole thing because he was in WWII, so the hurricane didn't rattle him at all. Lol.
So they kind of just put the storm in the movie? No wonder why the storm was so well done in the movie, cause it was the real deal.
Even in the novel the storm was part of the story. It was by sheer, crazy coincidence that a hurricane just happened to hit while they were filming the movie.
Wasn't part of Jurassic Park also filmed in Costa Rica?
