SP and damage output are the biggest hurdles. It would take at least half the epilogue to afford something at a lower level with a similar Luicifer moveset and higher than normal stats, but giving Victory Cry to Pixie would probably fix the SP issue after the second area if I fuse it into something that can take more than one hit. If I was commentating over highlights I could get rid of the "no warping" and "one session" restrictions no problem. Because I want to show the full run I'd rather not include a bunch of fighting and returning to the dorm (or charming the bosses' lackeys), especially so early in the attempt.
If you wanted to get from 1F to 255F, not counting the time it takes to use the stairs, you'd only have 14 seconds per floor to get to the top of Tartarus.

So after looking on Reddit, doing some math, and adding to a comment I saw that did their own math, my conclusion is that Tartarus is about 900 meters tall, or about 2952.76 feet. That is easily taller than the tallest building in the world. Hell, that's taller than two Empire State Buildings stacked on top of each other. The temperature would drop 8.82 degrees Celsius (15.876 Fahrenheit) from where Makoto started, so I'm glad he's bringing a coat. At that height, you could witness songbirds migrating. Since each guardian floor has two staircases and there's 25 of them, you're not looking at 264 sets of stairs, you're looking at 289. If an average flight of stairs is 14.5 steps, that is *4191* steps to climb, on top of walking across each floor. Hope you got a StairMaster Aki!

There's a limit to that. By convention, the duration cap is 9 turns. So realistically you want to simply just use Heat Riser twice, do a charge skill, then attack. That or if you think it's not worth it to charge, use the attack twice.
As to reply, back in P4 they added kaja/heta riser extensors in where if you were to do double kaja or risers, theh would double the usable time, meaning more turns
I think an interesting idea for a run is you run through tartarus in one day but you have to start off with orpheus. If you want to use the compendium you have to reregister personas and only pull those. Basically pretend the compendium is empty again. Another idea for a run is you start with base equipment and you can only use the stuff you get from tartarus.
i'm pretty sure that the second half of this challenge would be impossible. without good personas and skill cards to use with them, it would literally be impossible to build a good persona
Impressive video, somehow I went this entire time never knowing that using stat buff moves consecutively actually adds their duration, I always figured it just resets the 3 turn timer
I think that change was made in either P5 or Royal. It was definitely a proper extension in Royal, and I'm pretty sure it was just a refresh to 3 turns in P4G.

@@firstnamelastname7244 The protagonist will always level up, and while Junpei and Yukari can be theoretically kept at level 1 by letting them get KOed during every fight , I don't think it's possible to do so for the tutorials. All other teammates join at well above level 1.
Imagine a persona 3 mode where you have 1 hour, if you don't make it back to the lobby before time's up you die because tartarus disappears with you in it. Timer doesn't stop in battles either
This was awesome to watch. Love little challenges like this. You should defo try this on NG either solo or full team, spam working for money and see what can be done maybe allow thebel upto 1st guardian if needed. Exp scaling is funky in the game and ironically being a lower level gives you insane exp yields that outweigh being higher meaning going into a full moon boss under can usually end you higher than you would be if starting slightly higher. Since you get Apsaras and Orpheus guaranteed at minimum you can still endlessly chain fusions upto your level between full moons. Recently finished my Solo/Orpheus Only/Mandatory Fights Only/Merciless run but this honestly seems like it could be more interesting
If teleporting back is allowed, then it's very doable thanks to elizabeth being there to refill your sp, otherwise it'd be quite the challenge on an NG

i’m a month and a half away to the end, but i’m gonna wait on the night of March 24 cuz there will be a full moon (irl). TECHNICALLY it will be on the 25th but at 3 am EST. anyway, i am doing this on the night of a full moon on merciless difficulty (this was actually my NG+). i did this last month (on the 24th). i did this to get the definitive experience. if you beat the game on the night of a full moon IRL, then welcome to the club.
It pains me that I only have access to 2 battle themes from Persona 4 simply because I didn’t buy the game the moment it was available for pre order😔. The Almighty is a fantastic track, but I would’ve loved to have I’ll Face Myself over Revelations: Mitsuo. And no Reach Out To The Truth and especially no The Fog hurts my soul. But at least I can still enjoy the complete tonal whiplash of traversing Tartarus knowing that an old couple and a child died for this run to be possible with the very cheerful theme of Junes playing at full volume.
Am I crazy or was there unique Fukka dialogue if you do this and she navs tje first gusrdian encounter? Also i forgot, p3didnt force time limits for exploring? So thats why persona 4 and 5 get so pissy with deadlines.
Eh, it is a double-edged sword. P3 has forced boss fights on certain days so unless you are very good, not training can get you destroyed by these bosses with no way to beat them without losing days of progress. P4 and P5 meanwhile attach the EXP grinding location and objective together so you are more likely to be getting EXP before the boss. Well, P5 also has Mementos but there are still fights in the Palaces with basic enemies.
It's definitely insane considering you have first unlocked all the floors and do all the normal stuff before doing this challenge. Thanks for the entertainment!!!

Ken's right about it being impossible. You'd have to scale multiple floors in SECONDS to get to the top of Tartarus before the Dark Hour ends.

I don't think it's possible in the original or FES, but I think it is possible in the PSP version
It's definitely possible in the PS2 games. No one gets tired on the final day.

@@firstnamelastname7244 The protagonist will always level up, and while Junpei and Yukari can be theoretically kept at level 1 by letting them get KOed during every fight , I don't think it's possible to do so for the tutorials. All other teammates join at well above level 1.

Imagine a persona 3 mode where you have 1 hour, if you don't make it back to the lobby before time's up you die because tartarus disappears with you in it. Timer doesn't stop in battles either

This was awesome to watch. Love little challenges like this. You should defo try this on NG either solo or full team, spam working for money and see what can be done maybe allow thebel upto 1st guardian if needed. Exp scaling is funky in the game and ironically being a lower level gives you insane exp yields that outweigh being higher meaning going into a full moon boss under can usually end you higher than you would be if starting slightly higher. Since you get Apsaras and Orpheus guaranteed at minimum you can still endlessly chain fusions upto your level between full moons. Recently finished my Solo/Orpheus Only/Mandatory Fights Only/Merciless run but this honestly seems like it could be more interesting
If teleporting back is allowed, then it's very doable thanks to elizabeth being there to refill your sp, otherwise it'd be quite the challenge on an NG

Right? It would have been dead simple for them to put in all of it. Shoot, even add a little side menu that's a representation of Makoto's MP3 Player and let you make a playlist. They could have done so much more with this feature. This is a pretty lazy implementation.

i’m a month and a half away to the end, but i’m gonna wait on the night of March 24 cuz there will be a full moon (irl). TECHNICALLY it will be on the 25th but at 3 am EST. anyway, i am doing this on the night of a full moon on merciless difficulty (this was actually my NG+). i did this last month (on the 24th). i did this to get the definitive experience. if you beat the game on the night of a full moon IRL, then welcome to the club.

It pains me that I only have access to 2 battle themes from Persona 4 simply because I didn’t buy the game the moment it was available for pre order😔. The Almighty is a fantastic track, but I would’ve loved to have I’ll Face Myself over Revelations: Mitsuo. And no Reach Out To The Truth and especially no The Fog hurts my soul. But at least I can still enjoy the complete tonal whiplash of traversing Tartarus knowing that an old couple and a child died for this run to be possible with the very cheerful theme of Junes playing at full volume.

Also i forgot, p3didnt force time limits for exploring? So thats why persona 4 and 5 get so pissy with deadlines.
Eh, it is a double-edged sword. P3 has forced boss fights on certain days so unless you are very good, not training can get you destroyed by these bosses with no way to beat them without losing days of progress.
P4 and P5 meanwhile attach the EXP grinding location and objective together so you are more likely to be getting EXP before the boss. Well, P5 also has Mementos but there are still fights in the Palaces with basic enemies.
It's definitely insane considering you have first unlocked all the floors and do all the normal stuff before doing this challenge. Thanks for the entertainment!!!
