Persona 3 Portable - Secret Boss Elizabeth (No Commentary)

- Since I really like Persona 3 and my plans to LP it kinda fell through, I figured I might as well shows one of my favorite fights from the game. If people like it I might do another video where I explain how to prepare for it and do a live commentary of the fight.
Elizabeth can be fought on a New Game + file on the 10th floor of the optional Tartarus block Monad. Having Orpheus Telos is pretty much a must. You can fuse him if you have the Colorless Mask which is received from Igor after completing all social links. You want his stats to be maxed out as well. Part of that for me comes from the fact that I have my ultimate weapon equipped which boosts all stats by 10 although you could also boost his stats up to max without it. You should also be level 99 so your HP and SP are both at 999.
To get Orpheus Telos an easy way to go about it is to fuse Odin + Scathach + Nidhogger. You want Odin's Thunder Reign skill to be passed down. It will be your primary source of damage. This is the only skill you need to pass down. The other skills can be gotten from skills cards obtained from the following Personas:
Sharp Student (Zouchouten)
Will reduce the chances of Elizabeth getting critical hits on us.
Mind Charge (Atropos)
Makes Thunder Reign do 2x damage after charging. (Some sources claim 2.5 like it is in most other MegaTen games but in Persona 3 it should only be 2x)
Salvation (Vishnu)
Used to fully heal as well as remove the poison status that Nebiros can inflict.
High Counter (Siegfried)
Used to counter Elizabeth's physical attacks at a 50% chance.
Elec Amp (Odin)
Elec Boost (Take-mikazuchi)
Used to boost the damage of Thunder Reign.
Unshaken Will (Asura)
Nullifies all status ailments except for poison.
To get these skill cards the skill Growth 3 is recommended and can be obtained as a skill card from Jatayu.
As far as equipment goes, any weapon will do. If you do want the ultimate weapon you can fuse either Lucifer for the male MC or Kartikeya for the female MC with any nihil item dropped from gold shadows. The Armor of Light can be gotten from Messiah as a heart item at a random chance. It's not required but it does have the best defense in the game and also reduces magic damage. Lastly you absolutely want the Divine Pillar as it reduces all damage taken by half. It can be obtained as a heart item from Alilat.
You also need a few items, most importantly a bunch of Infinity and one Armageddon. Infinity x 10 can be gotten from the Fortune & Strength door in Vision Quest, as can Armageddon from the Hanged Man door. Do note though that you need to let the Hanged Man prime a Maya and cause an explosion, otherwise you will get a Victory Cry skill card instead. You also want a few Homunculus to protect against instant death.
I also use a Persona that applies all buffs at the start of the fight. You don't need this but every little bit helps.
Now as for the fight itself... Elizabeth cycles through different Personas in a set order. With the exception of Masakado she will attack twice and use either that Persona's skills or a physical attack.
Surt - Fire
Jack Frost - Ice
Thor - Electricity
Cu Chulainn - Wind
Metatron - Light
Alice - Dark
Nebiros - Status ailments
Masakado - Megidolaon
After she has used a Persona its elemental affinities apply. Note that even if you don't see a Persona because she physically attacks twice she has switched to it anyway.
Surt, Jack Frost and Cu Chulainn are all susceptible to Thunder Reign and you usually want to Mind Charge before using it. Thor and Metatron can be hit with physical attacks though you should only do it if you don't need to heal or use Mind Charge that turn. Alice and Masakado are pretty much immune to all damage. Nebiros won't pose a problem since Unshaken Will makes us immune to pretty much anything it can do. However, after she uses Nebiros you MUST use Infinity as Masakado will use Megidolaon. Elizabeth's Megidolaon is special in that it always does 9999 damage which will instantly kill you. After Masakado she cycles back to Surt.
A few rules of engagement:
1. You can NEVER block the element Elizabeth is about to use. Doing so will cause her 9999 damage Megidolaon instead. Orpheus Telos comes in handy here as it is strong against everything but doesn't block anything.
2. Elizabeth has 20000 HP If you push her under 10000 HP she will fully heal.
3. If you push her under 4000-5000 HP she will spam Megidolaon every turn (this is why we need Armageddon).
4. After 10 cycles she will start spamming Megidolaon so this is the hard turn limit.
5. You can't spam Armageddon from the start. Doing so will cause her to spam Megidolaon.
The goal is to get her as close to 10000 HP as possible. After which she need to push herself under 10000 by getting countered. This counter needs to be the second attack because otherwise her second move will be healing herself anyway. When she gets below 10000 the fight can be ended by using Armageddon.
Hope you enjoyed this - Ігри
I'm not sure guys, but think that she has chosen.

According to the description, you can get Orpheus Telos by fusing Odin, Scathach and Nidhoggr. But for some reason, that fusion is impossible to perform in my game. Thankfully, I also had Thor in my possession, and replacing Nidhoggr with him actually did result in Orpheus Telos, and from that point onward I was able to follow the description step by step all the way until I beat Elizabeth.
Just felt the need to comment this in case someone else decides to use the description as a guide and runs into the same issue.
Interesting. I've never run into that before. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll pin your comment.
triple fusions are wonky bc you not only need to have the right personas they also need to be at the appropriate levels. take your fusion for this: odin scathach thor. scathach needs to be the highest level persona in the fusion, odin in the middle, and thor at the lowest level. Maybe thats the reason: your personas were at the wrong levels
Have you max out all Social Links? Igor gives you the recipe to fuse Orpheus Telos once you do.
@@SonicTheCutehog Of course I maxed all social links. I did manage to fuse him with a different recipe afterall, and it wouldn't be possible otherwise. The comment right above yours explains what my problem was.

Thank you for this.
You may not have planned for this being a good guide for the PS4 port but you've helped me a lot
My high counters refuse to work, that luck you had towards the end was very lucky indeed.
I've fought a lot of bosses across many different series, and I have to say, aside from fromsoft games, persona absolutely nails it in terms of absolutely terrible boss design. Not all of them, of course, but there's always that one. All I've learned is that the way to beat her is "do this, specifically, or you will fail".
Fromsoft are literally nothing like this what? I’ve never seen someone be so confidently wrong. Are there bad bosses? Sure yeah…but a vast majority of the boss in Fromsoft games are well designed. You are either bad, or cannot handle having to change your gameplay.
@@DameDo414 no. They're pixel-perfect needle threading garbage designed for neckbeards who live and breathe the game. As a grown adult, I do not have the time or patience to spend days dying to a boss which can change or entirely glitch it's tactics to two-shot me in half the time it takes me to press the dodge button. So cry more, I guess
@@obievergreen3771 “live and breathe the game” I have a job and place of my own what? They aren’t glitchy (outside of DS2, but that game is just bad). You can play casually and beat them fine. You’re just bad at them and that’s fine, but to call them bad games isn’t true…especially since you’re the only person who seems think they’re all glitch filled. Getting two shot is also *literally* a player issue. Build sucks
@@DameDo414 I am far from the only person who thinks that. And trust me, I looked up build video after build video, followed them to a T, levelled up like crazy and it made zero difference. They're objectively bad games for people with low standards and too much free time. For reference, elden ring is so terribly designed that what I thought was a game breaking glitch was actually intentional. But sure, they're great games that are definitely worth the money and definitely aren't just lazy clones of each other with the same indefensible design flaws throughout.

If you are following guides for builds and looking up boss information AND build information, STILL losing? I think you just be shit at the game champ. I’d love to know what’s so horribly designed instead of just throwing out opinions though.
I find it weird that Orpheus telos doesn’t change with gender but normal Orpheus does. Must be an oversight

You're lucky, my High Counter not even working, plus every 5 turns, she threw a tantrum by attacking with Megidolaon every single time I fought her, Welp, for me apparently is impossible, plus it looks like she had grudge on me
iirc the 5 turn megidolaon is scripted, you need to use a fusion spell (item in P3P) that makes you immune (several times) cuz in the megidolaon turn she uses them twice.
... Did you use Amagedon early?
@@SayuAriana I even barely attacking, every battle I started with buffs for that 1 turn, after 1 turn ends, she went insane and throwing every Megidolaon she had idk why, that time as I remember, I think that time I brought Cybele and Norn, Chi You... and spells I had nothing near Armageddon not even Megidolaon... that time my luck was pretty bad, and never got goodies from fusions.

I'm trying Elizabeth now....for...the 5th time and its a pain in the ass xP What Personas do you have in your team?
Just Orpheus Telos. That's all you really need.
How come Armageddon worked above 10,000 hp?
Late i know, but with the double high counter Eli was pushed below 10k hp, I guess he forgot to add the second hc damage
How many Personas does Liz have in her personal stock between both phases 1 and 2? She uses so many I lost count, lmao
8 if you do things right. She has one for every element and then one for ailments and one for Megidolaon. If she gets to heal she'll also use Pixie.
Its still 10141 why you able to killed her with armaggedon when it only hits 9999 ? Thats weird
It's actually just a calculator I used on the side. It doesn't update in real time.
What happens is that If you push her below 10,000 she will heal herself (only the first time), but this guy was very lucky, because she got countered in her last turn, so she was below 10,000 and she couldn't heal herself because she already used her turn, if this person would have done any other thing, then Elizabeth would have healed herself the next turn, but at that point this person realized about it and just used armageddon
Yup. This is exactly why my Orpheus Telos has High Counter.
Being forced to rely on a chance based reflect is bad boss design
Yep, that’s persona series is dogshit when it comes to bosses. You don’t see this in mainline smt games.
I think it needs to be said that this is not the intended design to beat this fight. Not forced at all.
It's supposed to be beaten by halving their health once, let them heal, and then halve their health once again. And then using Armageddon. First heal is guaranteed to happen when reducing their health by half. And the next time they will heal will be under 30% (6,000 HP) after the first heal. More than enough buffer to be able to cast Armageddon. So it is reliable.
The strategy employed here is called "High Counter skip" for a reason. Very unreliable (20% repel rate on second hit) but it does make the fight faster.
@raphaelcoprada4637 In this game High Counter actually has a 50% chance. It wasn't changed to 20% until Persona 4. You can indeed just let the boss heal. Which is what I usually do if High Counter fails.
@@Heufneutje that is false. Been checked by many people already.
It is 10/15/20% for the entire counter line of skills in all versions of P3, like the later games. Apparently that old source was bogus in some cases.
Saw a guy test it out on FES and P3P and yeah, it was roughly leaning to 20% there.
Anyways more accurate sources have already started to show the correct values nowadays. Like megaten fusion tools, for example. Pretty much a decade old myth that's recently debunked.
Interesting. The Megaten wiki still has it listed as 50% which is generally my source for these kinds of things.
why did they make this so aggravating to do lol its not even challenging
Thanks for the video though im close to getting it!
How did you got infinity x10 in door?
I always got pearl
I'm not sure actually. I couldn't find out what determines it. Supposedly it has something to do with not letting anyone in the party die and not getting any negative effects on the Fortune wheel. But even that doesn't always seem to work.
11:56 0 XP? Thanks atlus and sega!
Does it have to be thunder reign? I couldn't get mine, so I have niflheim on my telos, is that okay?
Pretty much any one of the tier 4 magic should work. You just need to get the different boost and amp skills for it and use it when she has a different Persona equipped. So in your case you would want to use Niflheim right after she uses Surt.
Why orpheus telos looks like MeMC
Because Orpheus Telos only has one form.

@Heufneutje, Hello and I have a question on a certain skill that I want to use but first I want your opinion on it. Ok say i'm doing your method and I use all the same skills your using beside sharp student and say I decide to replace it with magic skill up. Now will I be doing more damage on her by doing so or am I pushing it to much because I don't want to drop her HP where she will be healing so is sharp student really needed or no?
Yes i'm playing this on the portable version.
I'd say so yeah. I've died a number of times to crits even with Sharp Student.
Ok good and that's why I don't use that skill much because it hardly works for me at times so I was curious if the skill up waa better instead since that thunder reign does alot of damage in the first place especially when you use mind charge so yeah i'll test it out and see how it goes before saving it to my compendium.
I appreciate you writing back in time. :)
@@FrostyMikeGamingisn't it impossible to get magic skill up. on Orpheus telos ?
One question, I have already passed the game and started a new game, but I did not use the file from the first game and therefore I do not have the level or the objects and persons from the first game, can I fight the boss or not? Doesn't that game count as "New game Plus"?
I think the NG+ limitation might only be in FES. In Portable I believe you only need to do the Reaper quest and reach the top floor of Tartarus. The internet seems to not be very clear on this but I'm pretty sure on my last playthrough on PC I was able to fight her without being on NG+

How am I suppossed to win this? He always heals ABOVE 10,000, I've never seen boss design this shitty,
It's all in the description. You need High Counter. It is possible to do without High Counter since she only heals the first time she goes below 10000. It'll just take longer. I also have another video with commentary where I go into detail on preparing for the fight.
P3P Beth is too easy due to skill cards, so you can, if you want, make an ultimate setup easily.
Now try the same in P3F, and I'll laugh at how miserably you will fail
