Beautiful install , very clean . Great to have 100 watts . I'm watching from BC , Canada🇨🇦 , Our last boat was a 28 footer . Over the years in BC many online owners talk about taking out their 5.7 and replacing with electric buying conversion kits . I'm looking to go ALMOST 99% off grid , mind you Having a bit of fuel to have generator would be wise imo. I'm looking to have a hybrid sort of .

Little by little inching into that goal. The conversion kits are getting crazier and crazier, so many cool stuff coming out

Nice build. Will pay itself off quickly by not running the generator as often.
I'd be a little concerned about someone hurting themselves on the corners of that panel though.

Thank you bud! I keep adding to this one 3-D printing list 😅 added ( round corners for the solar panel )

I'll make the whole roof hold 1kW worth of panels, 3-5kW worth of batteries(You could just also get a power station, ecoflow) , MPPT charge controller and a 2kW(continuous) sine wave inverter. I'd bring a microwave and minifridge. Heck with that amount of power storage I'll bring any electronics I can bring.

Wow, that would be enough even to run the TV and everything right? because when I want to run the air conditioning and TV I turned on the generator.. hopefully a bigger boat soon that I can do all of this 😅

@@Cruisingthesouth The TV definitely. The AC, depends on how much power it uses I'd say on that size of a boat it uses around 200-300W but I might be wrong. If it is then you'll be good running it overnight.

If it has rust it is not aluminum. Possibly tin .. more than likely cheap metal. Find a friend that has 3d printer and ask him to make you some brackets. Make sure the material is coated with u.v. protectant.

That’s a very good approach now that you mentioned I do have a friend that messes with 3-D printer. I may ask him to redo those pieces for me. Thank you bud! 🙂

Very nice, Though I'm more of the nerd side of things. I would not be able to only sit with 100 watts haha. I would be pumping out as much as I could fit on the boat.

😂😂😂 I think it’s a boater thing lol on the back of our mind, There is always that little voice “where can I fit another solar panel

I know right.. thanks bud! I’m actually very happy how it came out and how it looks because even my neighbor had mentioned that it was probably going to look weird, that he doesn’t see boats like mine with solar panels but this solar panel fit just right and I actually love the way it looks. I almost didn’t do it because of his comment 😅

@@Cruisingthesouth I live in Miami, I studied pure electronics when I was in Cuba and still do it here, I have worked in boats like yours so, yes, you did a pretty clean job, I actually prefer 2 panels and always in the very top where nobody can see it, and your anchor light with a light sensor so it will turn on automatically…. But of course that’s up your you.
Wish some day shake hands with you brother.

Great idea for the anchor light sensor, now I want to rig up something like that 😄 I live in Fort Lauderdale but I’m always going down to Miami, either down there or up here I’m sure we can link up somehow. Past couple of weeks I passed by coming back from Islamorada on the boat, last weekend, I went up to Hillsboro Inlet and dove some reefs around that area, but I kind of wanna go back to Miami again.

What's the point of all that when you are wasting hundreds of kg of petrol to power your boat...? Just get a battey, charge it with an alternator and stop trying to show that you care about pollution.
