I've lived two full days at Longwa village split half in Mon District, state of Nagaland in India and the other half In Myanmar - Sagaing District. I know how it may feel going in and out between two countries. Anyway, I could share my article on Longwa if you wish to read which was published on a Northeast India travel magazine.
It all had to do with what prince/noble owned which land, and how these lands ended up being inherited by Belgium and the Netherlands. Just glad both countries decided to take a more-or-less "meh..." approach to their border control here.
Those meaty snacks arent typically Dutch but also Belgian except perhaps the Bitterballen. All other stuff is what you will find typically also in a Fritkot. Theres a better way to eat that meatball btw. Cut it almost in 2, friy it, then mayonaise in it, on top of that fresh cut onions and on top ketchup. That croquette is filled with what is almost vol-au-vent without the big chunks. If you go to the Belgian costline you will find those croquettes but filled with something similar but instead of meat, Grey North Sea schrimps are used, you have to try it, it is simply awesome. A third version is filled with cheese. Also quite good.
