- Barbershops in the Netherlands are something unique as are many other things. The Dutch brought back the old school style barbershop which has been since copied by many others around the world trying to do the same. Today we are going to one of the most famous barbershops in the Netherlands. It is called cut throat barbershop and it is in Amsterdam. I went in for the deluxe shave and trust me this was unlike any shave I ever had.
It is pricey at around 55-60 dollars US for the deluxe shave so in this video we will see if it's worth it or not. The whole process was quite something. I never knew you can do so many things just to have a better and smoother shave but I must say it works. I was happy with the result and how I felt after.

This barbershop is right beside the AEX (Amsterdam Exchange Index) stock market. I think a large part of their clientele consists of traders who work at the AEX, which is why they have that realtime stock quotes up there! Loved the video! Thanks!

The reason you see a stock monintor is because this barber shop is located in the building of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. Probably many well-earning stock traders use this barbershop.
What a luxurious experience. Men don’t often treat themselves (as women do with spas, manicures, pedicures) so it was nice seeing you have this experience. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I am a barber from the Netherlands, a shave is usually not that expensive usually it costs around €5 to €10 but in some barbershops like these you also pay for the experience

Absolutely worth it. I would cut at least 5 times. But 20 cents was good too. My barber did the same exact for 35 cents when I use to live in India. The white stone that they use is polished limestone. It tingles and removes the irritation from micro cuts. buy if I visit Netherlands, I would surely get it.

People forget it's not just about haircut and shave but the entire experience plus the location that determines the price.
Costly matter it seems, 46 Euros 🙄🙄 roughly around 4000 Indian rupees. Surely you can have 2 yrs shaving & hair cutting in India with head massage. Anyways good ambience, you look fresh & happy👍

Men used it for centuries as an antiseptic post shaving.
Funny how I've not seen a single barber carry it in the US.
Though, in the era of aftershave lotions, alums are very less used.

The white thing which the barbers in India use is ALUM. It is antiseptic and used after shave to close the open pores and cuts after shave.

If I make it to the Netherlands I'm definitely heading there. Top notch service and treatment. I personally shave with electric shavers/clippers but 5 years ago I started using razors as well.

iam a third generation amsterdammer, never heard of this place, and getting a shave for 50 euro.. you got to be insane!.
this is on the beursplein as far as i can tell, walk 3 blocks further into the centrum of amsterdam you will be on the redlight district, them ladies cost 50 euro for 20 minutes, this whole video was only 15 minutes....
PS you should not shave, you looked better with that " beard" you had.....

Highest I think was like 39 euro's, but then again, they took like an hour and a half to get some kind of a model in it (they were like pulling on my hair with a special kind of brush for about 45 minutes, an experience that was really sleep-inducing :P.)

The one we use in India it's Alum block not saltwater...it's antiseptic and treat razor burns

Few months ago I met a barder shop with an I think turkish owner, where the owner let me get free treatments for a photoshoot (Which was fun to do). And damn that experience was nice. So different then going to an expensive Dutch shop. It was like, took a half our or more. But it was worth it. It's just a whole experience. And even if it wasnt free, 10 euro's still nothing for a good shave :P
The thing he's talking about that Indian barbers use is - Alum aka "Fitkari" as it is called in India.
Proraso makes nice shave supplies. I have some of their cream and aftershave. Top notch stuff

some years ago i visited the "Historical Barber" in his "Shop" in the "Westernstadt im Harz"/Germany.
Was a good experience for about 8 €, worth every €-Cent.
I've never had a haircut over 20 euros and on average 15 euros.
And the haircuts are clean AF. Perfect fades. Get yourselves a Turkish or Moroccan barber.

He used a high quality shavette on you. Looks like a kamisori style feather razor or kai razor. Doesn't get sharper than that.
