- How to activate mirrors folding with remote control in Volkswagen Golf MK7 using OBDeleven diagnostic interface. By default this feature can be disabled or set to fold mirrors each time you lock the car. In this video I changed adaptation values to make mirrors fold when I press nad hold lock button the on key fob. This way I can prevent premature damage of the mirrors electric motors and I don't have to disable the function in winter from the infotainment screen.
Coding procedure:
Module: 09 (Central Electronics)
Security Access → Code: 31347
Adaptation → Channel: Access Control 2 - Funk Spiegelanklappen
New value: active

On the infotainment display go to Car → Setup → Mirrors & Wipers and enable "Fold away after parking" option.

To anyone having problems, either not working after battery change, or not working after activation, you need to re-learn the min-max values of the windows. You open them to max and to min till you hear a click for all windows.
thank you for this. Don't understand why this happened but it did. I put my folding mirrors on coded and worked for a day or so then stopped. This has fixed it. Also fixed the sunroof and windows opening by keychain also.

Hi. Is there another security code that can be used to do this? I teied to use it but it would not work. I do have the comfort window up/down option activated, does that interfere with this mirror operation since both are activated by holding the button down? Thank you very much Sir!

I recoded the mirror adjustment with OBDeleven so that the exterior mirror only folds out again after the ignition is on.
I did the following steps:
Control unit: 09 Electronic central electrics
Access Permission: 31347
Adjustment
Name: mirror adjustment
Values: signaling_mirror folding:
Old value: active
New value: not active
Immediately after coding it works perfectly.
But I noticed that if the car is left overnight, for example, the mirror folds out again as soon as the door is opened.
Is there a solution to this? Thank you.
I want my mirrors to fold out when I unlock my car. Now it folds out when I start my car. What do I do?
General electric > adaptation > spiegelverstellung > Signaliserung_Spiegelanklappung. Change from Not Active to Active.
@@GerardCorbier I have my mirrors to open when I unlock the car ... But I just wanted to open the mirrors when I start the ignition .. I have already changed the coding and what happens is that when opening the car the mirrors open and close ... And then, when they ignite, they open again ... Do you know how to disable mirrors from opening when unlocking the car ?!

Will this also work for the Golf VI (MK6)?
This procedure is for MQB cars (MK7, Skoda Octavia 3, Seat Leon 3). I believe that You can activate that in MK6 but most likely in different way.
Hi will be much better if the folding mirrors they going to normal when you put key in ignition to on or start not when you open the door or unlocking the car!
There's a coding for that but I still need to figure it out.

@@GerardCorbier Hi I have obdeleven pro with ios I don’t see it those terms in german. If I am going to 09 central electrics security code adaptation is showing channel 01 is showing live data value then 1-3 or 1-4 different options

Do you have power folding mirrors? And is the option ticked in the car settings menu on the infotainment system?

If you don't have fold option on the know, then you don't have power folding mirrors.
Hi thank you for showing this in obd eleven. Quick question. What position is your mirror switch in during lock and un lock? I just did this mod to my car and have been un able to get the key fob to gold mirrors.
I have it set to R (passengers side), so the mirror dips when I'm in reverse.
Remote folding should work in all position (L, R, 0, heating).

Często bywa tak, że wychodzę z auta, otwieram bagażnik, kluczykiem zamykam drzwi, lusterka się składają, chowam kluczyk do kieszeni, grzebię w bagażniku wyjmując rzeczy, zamykam bagażnik, auto jest wówczas całe zamknięte ale nagle uświadamiam sobie, że coś zostawiłem w samochodzie więc otwieram z kluczyka a lusterka się znowu otwierają. Wolałbym więc aby otwierały się po włączeniu zapłonu, wówczas wykonywały by mniej pracy. Da się tak?
Da się, ale nie zawsze. Chciałem to u siebie aktywować, ale w moim (2016) nie działało poprawnie. Kiedyś to jeszcze raz sprawdzę.

Dude....the video isnt clear, your too far away from the screen and you skipped over loads of information assuming that we knew what you was talking about.. As soon as you started talking about OBD11 i was lost you just skipped over the steps without explaining what your doing.
To be honest it's partially intentional. Let me explain why.
OBDeleven is a diagnostic tool that let you change dealer-level settings. You can mess up your car within 30 seconds if you use it without proper knowledge. This video contains essential information for anyone that know how to use OBDeleven and understands the risks. I made tens of videos like that showing how-to's for the most interesting features. I'm not going to explain basic in each video, because I simply don't have time to do it 50 times.
BUT I'm planning to make a series of videos with tutorials for OBDeleven beginners so everyone can learn how to use it and know the risks before following coding instructions found on internet.

How can I know whether my Golf VII is equipped with power folding mirrors? I am afraid to try and fold them manually. I didn't see a function in the car menu which would enable the mirrors to fold automatically.
You should have 5th option on the mirror adjustment knob (L, 0, R, defrost, fold).
