Glad to see someone else is modifying this machine, I love mine but I have been looking for aftermarket options and there aren’t to many. You’ve already answered a lot of my questions as well as brought some aftermarket parts to my attention so thank you for that. Keep the videos coming!!! I’m super interested in the dynojet tuner and it’s capabilities for those bigger tires that we all want to run.
Thank you for that comment, these really are great machines. Hopefully with more attention to them like this the aftermarket will get on board too! Ride safe!
Awesome video I have the two seater model but in all black and I am also in southern Arizona I’ve done a couple things to mine. I happened to stumble across your video which was awesome because I’ve wanted to change the rims and go up to a 14 from the 12 inch rim, but I wanted to have a wider stance, but was unsure of which one to choose until I seen your video. I greatly appreciate it.
Great video , we just sold our Defender , ordered a 2022 Sport Max triple black and it came today , now to get it setup similar to this , I actually found these wheels before this video so I was glad to check this out to see how it will look on mine . I am having the dealer do the clutch right of the bat , and one guy at the dealer gave me some info on a tuner that adds 5 hp or so , more mid like you said and a bit more top end as well. I am in Southern Utah , and am going to make a review similar to yours , along with trail riding that we have in and around our area . Thanks again , very in depth and I am super stoked to have a twin to yours.
@@OdysseyOffroad THANK YOU , should be a good time for sure ! Will be our third Can Am , looking forward to excellent suspension and plenty of power . May even do the tuner you have in the other videos . Thanks again.
Awesome, your videos are super informative. We just picked up our 2021 maverick sport max this weekend Got some things to install on it but cant wait to get it in the dirt. Already we absolutely love it, then again we are coming from a honda pioneer 500 so it's a massive upgrade 😁 Again great videos, liked and subscribed
Thank you so much for the support. I'm glad you like the videos I try to provide as much information as possible that I don't see covered on other channels. 👍
Thats what i did. I have stock wheels and im going to throw a set of paddles on them. Although i plan on making this the family trail wagon and getting a 2 seater machine for ripping lol
Nice looking machine man! Looking to upgrade from my T4 to one of these. With the 32's what is the length? Not sure if this will fit on my trailer haha.
I just purchased 22 maverick Sport 1000. The previous owner put 32 and added clutch. I notice the rear tires have a bit butterfly affect. Should i adjust shocks or suggestions?
Off-road tires are not going to wear like street tires do if it's the same on both sides rotating regular is your only solution. These are meant to be used on the dirt so if the previous owner was using it on the street a lot going to see excessive wear
Yes I did it was super easy You do need a spring compressor for the rear however The factory springs need to be compressed they're too long to just dial up all of the preload and get the retaining ring off You do not need a spring compressor to install the new springs however
@@3cotasllc522 I did not have to take the panels off the front. There's no reason to remove the upper bolt on the front shock just crank the preload all the way up and remove the springs from the bottom just detach it from the upper arm only and take the tire off. The fronts are super easy.
This is a 60" wide machine. Some of the new Commander models are 64" wide. If it is a 60" wide model then yea its very similar but different spring and shock setups from what i know about them.
Did I hear correctly? You removed the anti-sway bars? What are the pros and cons? This is my 1st SxS. For me and my group, for our Ski Doos, it has been standard to remove them. Any and the more info is better. I have really enjoyed your videos. Very informative and objective. THANKS ! ! !
Hey Alan, thanks for checking out the videos! I had disconnected the front sway bar for a while but I ultimately put it back on. When you take it off you get much more real articulation the sway bars are meant to keep you flatter in corners. When you take them off you get much more body roll If you do take sway bars off you just want to take off the front and you'll have to be careful with high speed cornering. I ultimately decided to put it back on because the shocks were overextending and making a clunking sound without limit straps on the shocks I decided to put the sway bar back on.
@@OdysseyOffroad I also reviewed MyATVLife & Rocky Mt. Backcountry videos on the sway bar removal. These were also informative. And since one of these were on the narrower Mav Trail with good videos, I am leaning towards removing mine. So far we are riding more technical trails and not so much open fast road riding. Upgrading to 29" Big Horns this week ( I wanted to stick with stock widths, therefore did not go with the 30") and when there is not more snow in the mountains I am looking at the 30" Rip Saws for the summer and fall rides. Shock question for you: to gain 1" of clearance how many threads (inches) did you compress the springs. Do you recommend increasing the clearance by more than 1" via spring compression? And after the 29" tire upgrade I will be ordering the DynoPort tuner. Besides the improved mid-range and few HP your mentioned, it will be nice to have the ability to read the factory codes. I am sure I will think of more questions in the near future. Thanks again.
@@mttamer163800xp yes the dynojet allows you to read codes. I have a video on that too. Typically half inch ov preload will give approximately 1 inch in ride height.
Ya I agree with you it would be nice if it were a 64” machine, a little roomier cabin is always appreciated and they look better from the rear with wider suspension. Think I’m going to go with 30’s, don’t think I need 32’s but it looks way better with bigger tires. Is the dyno jet just a plug and play then u just change settings on how u want it to perform, and also is it hard on the machine, and I’m assuming it voids the warranty? Not familiar with them I’ve never had 1 on anything. Thanks for the video’s, much appreciated.
The dynojet is a flash tuner so it removes your stock turn and replaces it with a completely different tune it's pretty simple to do. There's nothing to adjust just a reflash. You can put it back to stock tune at any time.
@@ivaaqchristensen7798 its super easy , u just take the tuner plug it in to the diag port under the dash, turn on the key and it reads the ecu and copies the vin. then you plug it into your computer and download the correct tune from dynojets website and plug it bag into the machine and flash it. it copies your stock tune and re flashes with the new tune. it comes with directions and dynojet customer support is top notch!
@@OdysseyOffroad Ok so about 61. The rim I liked only came in 5-2 so I didn't have a choice. I might get spacers put on to get it out to 63-64. What do you think about that? I have a 2022 sport max btw.. and thanks for the great videos, they are very helpful.
