My friends had the exact same machine last year . In less than a year they put on nearly 3000 kms riding with us with zero issues . They actually sold it though this spring to buy a Maverick Sport X RC 2 seater . I have always been a Yamaha guy but I actually went out 2 months ago and drove 7 1/2 hours to Quebec and bought a Maverick Sport X XC and so far i have just shy of 1000 kms on it and love it !

    Long term review.
I have a 2005 Arctic Cat 400 4x4 automatic and when the odometer stopped working after 10 years I had just over 12,000 Km on it. I did not bother fixing it, so I have no idea what it currently has for Km’s.This has been the best machine and the guys I ride with can’t believe that I still ride it, and are also amazed what it can do.
I have changed the belt once, lots of breaks, 3 front axle seals on the same side, 2 CV boots, lots of wheel bearings, shock bushings, A-arm bushing, and a few batteries.
I snorkelled the air in and out for the belt, but the air intake for the engine is still stock. Clutch is still stock, and nothing has been changed on the clutch (still the stock rollers etc…). I have taken it apart several times to ensure it’s clean, and I have an air filter on the the air in for the belt to help keep dust out.
I have had to remove the spark plug several times to pump water out of the engine. Put the spark plug back in, start it up, and keep riding. But I would change the oil as soon as I got home. Engine still runs, and sounds perfect.
Also used to plow snow in the winter.
You can watch a video on my channel of me pulling a trailer load of wood out through a swamp. “I thought is was going to be an easy day” is the name of the video.
I’m not saying that Arctic Cat is the best or anything like that, but this machine has left me with no regrets.
Biggest problem I have right now is I bent the frame. Did the best I could to get it straight, but it is still steering funny. Then my son (20 years old) took it out for a rip down the road with the snow plow on and couldn’t hold the handle bars, due to messed up steering because of the bent frame, and he did a flip when the corner of the plow dug into the ground, and it landed on the right rear tire. Bent and broke upper and lower A-arms, rim, bearing carrier, and plow (my son only got minor scraps, nothing serious, he was luckily). After replacing all of this (minus the plow) the right rear wheel is not running perfectly straight.
Looking for a new frame but they are not available! Found a used frame, but seller has no ownership, so…… I’m not taking the chance.
I live in Ontario, Canada. If any one has a matching machine that they want to sell? Running or not, I would be interested.
If not, looks like it might be time to buy a new side by side, but not sure what to get.
Thank for this review, I love your educational videos.

The machine sounds like new with a nice V-Twin rumble and I can't wait to see how the test ride goes. Bought this in '19 and have it all decked out and very happy with it. Only issue was the 'drive train rattle' that is pretty well known (and happened very early on) that was fixed with a set screw. I would like more ground clearance (I'm now on 30s), that's about it. Agreed with most of the commentary in this video in terms of power. Most of the Maverick/Trail/2dr accessories fit on this, too, though you need to make sure before purchase. Great walkaround, love to see these on well-used vehicles.

Good walk around review. We get plenty of Can Ams coming through the shop mostly because the local dealer sucks and most won't ever go back. When they're right, you can't touch them, amazing machines. Repairs are complicated because of the design and the parts are expensive and hard to come by in the states. We've got a Renegade X that has a problem connected with the factory anti theft device, we can't connect to it without the factory computer to read the code, the next dealer gave us such a high estimate the customer doesn't want to spend big bucks for the parts and labor to maybe fix it. 2 years worth of dust collects on one of the most amazing machines I've ever ridden. We ride customers Can Ams and own most everything else.

Great review, I always like that you pick at the little things because a door may seem simple, but for every time you drive it, you'll use that door twice. And your right, for a limo of a SxS, bigger tires would have seemed to make sense, better clearance, better ride too. Not to mention so many sub 28" tires make the SXS's look like the wheels came from a lawn mower lol. Put some manly tires on there please.

I have a 2020 max. Bought it the weekend after memorial day 2020. It now has 2200 miles on it. As a family of 4, and sometimes the dog, we have enjoyed every second of riding. Even took it from our home in WI out to the black hills of SD this year in July. Regular maintenance only. Need to start looking for a new set of tires as we do travel a fair amount of miles on pavement. I mean, why not? Can ride right from our house 17 miles to some of our states finest sxs trails. Love the review. Disagree with passenger grab handle because the seat is adjustable

@@dirttraxtv i know they are not in the same same category. Teryx is small in length and smaller in engine wise. I which they made a 1000cc version

How is the ride quality through chop?? 90% of the trails I ride are choppy terribly choppy. I haven't seen a groomed trail in years. I'm thinking about trading in my 19 RZR XP 4 1000 for this

These are good machines but the shocks are a bit too soft. Something I'd definitely upgrade.

Have to say my 2021 has had some issues. 2 rear axles so far. ( Made in China). Propeller shaft rattle fixed twice by the dealer and still rattles. Can am doesn't care anymore as it's out of warranty. And the rear springs keep sagging I have adjusted them 7 times then got fed up and bought some from bandit utv. I have the tablet holder and it's great for phones or tablets. The grab handle doesn't need to be adjustable as the seat moves forward and back my 7 year old can reach it and I can reach it im 5 foot 10. Great gas mileage I can go 195kms before the tank is dry. The gas gauge is inaccurate to say the least. I have 1700kms on it now. And have spare rear axles ready to go . I was advised by the dealer there absolute junk. Doors were poorly aligned from the factory as well. The propeller shaft noise is a issue on x3 as well. Sounds like coins in a can rattling around between 5 and 25 kmph. Machine does drive and handle excellent. Burns about 300ml of oil every 500kms . Suspension squeeked alot . Buy some super glide off amazon. The grease fittings on the front sway bar is garbage there mounted to the bushing and pop out easily . I have used a new rzrxp4 for a week and I would buy the can am . The rzr was a rattle box and the door on the rear fly open randomly even after making sure there latched and the rzr belt slipped alot on hilly terrain even in low. The can am has had no issues with the belt at all. Oh and it doesn't come with the tool to change the belt thats$40 extra . 🙄

How is 1600 miles on a machine alot in a year? i put 2500 on my rs1 in less than a year and i already have 600 miles on my 21 turbo s that i got 2 months ago. For the price of these units if they cant hold up without repair for 1600 miles thats a bit of an issue. All i did on the rs1 was oil and diff fluid changes and one set of pads. I also changed the belt at 2000 miles just to be safe never had an issue and the belt looked fine.

I can’t justify buying one of these 30,000-$40,000 side by sides when i can pretty much get the same performance out of a modified small suv, 4runner Xterra Pathfinder etc for a third of the price or less. Or am i wrong?
