Zlata Chochieva is in the very top league of pianists actively performing today. She has all the technique one could possibly wish but the technical prowess is never on display for its own sake, but rather to facilitate her ever-present connection with the music and her tremendous fantasy. Everything she plays has meaning, purpose and when appropriate, drive and intensity. I also highly recommend her Rachmaninov Etudes Tableaux.
Had never heard of Ms. Chochieva until today, as I was browsing youtube... I have the Pollini, Ashkenazy, Anievas, Arrau, Ohlsson, and a few others, and will not attempt to do a comparison, but what I *can* say is that these are lovely interpretations. The technique lacks nothing, and the musicianship is tasteful and compelling. Bought the CD so as to be able to enjoy the etudes in the best sound, as well as to support this artist.
Amazing performance with such finesse, dignity and absolute technique to make me forget about any other recordings! I regret I found her only today. This must be known everywhere!
43:17 - 44:34 - Well done! The last two pages of the 7th etude op.25 have always been my favorite part of all Chopin etudes (at least in terms of beauty and emotional impact). She does a great job in this etude!
ZLATA´S INTERVIEW ON MAKING "MUSIC" SHOULD BE LISTENED TO BY EVERYONE. ONE OF THE VERY FEW PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND THIS IDEA OF MUSICAL COMMUNICATION. ZLATA HAS AN AMAZING EDUCATION WHETHER SHE LEARNED IT FROM A FORTUNATE TEACHER OR SHE WAS SELF INTUITIVE, I DON´T KNOW, BUT SHE ARRIVED AT THE SUMMIT OF MUSICAL INTERPRETATION BASES ON NATURAL LINES.
What I can infer is that you are deaf. This is not a good recording. She has great technique but her interpretation is not deep nor with the elegance an sofistication that Chopin's music requires.
Discovered one hour ago. Amazing phrasing, amazing technique, superb musical intelligence. Maybe the best inner voices I've heard in 25#1. Did immediately buy the CD
Que aula de fraseado límpido!!!! Clareza e pureza de intenções. Gratidão Zlata pelas pérolas musicais e pelo grande caminho que está abrindo para as novas gerações !!!!!
Merci , thanks for this tip. Indeed the cd is worth to buy it !!! although, if somebody does not like every Etude, but only some; but these very much, as I do. My personal favorite ones of these compositions are : (in a range refering to 'familar' keys) op. 25.7, c sharp minor op. 10.3, E Major op. 25.4, a minor op. 25.11, a minor op. 10.1, C Major op. 10.9, f minor op. 10.12, c minor op. 25.12, c minor and as encore : again op.10.1 C Major
I do not subscribe because I do nor quite know what the sub fee is, and can a sub help us to listen to things not otherwise available to listen to.?I hate to see the name of the uploader before or instead of the composer.
I bought Artur Rubinstein's Chopin Collection and it is superb. However I noticed that none of Chopin's Etudes were on it! I saw this CD on ebay and promptly bought it as it has all of them. However I had not listened to her interpretations so I decided to look them up. She does an amazing job! Already happy with the purchase even though it hasn't arrived yet. This lady is extremely gifted and talented!
Amadeus Radio -- Her "Revolutionary" etude....Who ever heard such meticulous grace....perfection....really rivals Fialkowska......[Greetings from San Agustinillo]
@@Highinsight7 I fully agree! A magnificent set. I heard her dash off Op.10 No.5 09:23 as an encore in concert once, it had so much freedom, abandonment and joie de vivre. It was like hearing it for the first time. She's so good.
@@sfd373- What nickname do you mean? I was talking about the term "double thirds" which doesn't make sense. It's either "thirds" or "doubles". "Double thirds" would only make sense if both hands would play thirds simultaneously, which is certainly not the case in op.25 no.6.
These pieces were amongst the first examples of 'classical' music I ever listened to and came to know quite well, although I never became enormously fond of Chopin. However... I can't tear myself away from this.
Grandiose.....Reference level.....one of the greatest recorded Chopin Etudes....lineage Backhaus, Cortot😅, Cherkassky, Peraiha.....😊....far more musical than M.P......guess who that is.....😅
@Haven Lewis: This chick can play!! However, on the Rubinstein collection ( s' ), Artur was afraid of some technical stuff; didn't practice seriously for a time. And when Horowitz showed up, and snubbed him, according to an agreement they had to meet up,( he, Artur showed up and Horowitz wasn't there ). He said, " after that, I clenched my fist and got to work ". Rubinstein had no reason to fear anything technically in the entire spectrum of classical music. I've heard him play virtually everything he wanted to perform. I wish he wasn't so Romantically oriented so that modernistically, he'd have been drawn to Prokofiev's concerto no. 2, in g minor. Amongst other things. Had he practiced, like he should have. He would have matched Horowitz's performance of Rachmaninoff's 3rd concerto. Believe me!!! Rubinstein had those big hands, able to stretch a 12th. And he was left handed. He avoided Stravinsky's " Petrouchka as well. He could have eaten it up, leaps and all ( third MTV.so difficult to pin down evenly. For me, only Pollini gets through it smoothly. Even Weissenberg didn't hold on to the tempo in his recording. At least.
excellent technique developed by long exercises, little sensuality - which too honed technique kills. a bit dissonant for me - a pianist with Slavic roots is trying to surprise with dry Western techniques. a drop of soul in the performance and all Chopin's works will play differently, for example, as in Daniil Trifonov or Alexander Malofeev.
I ordered this CD today after hearing how good it was. Awesome job.

This one of the best and most inspiring performances there are.

아름다운 피아노 연주곡 잘 들었습니다~감사합니다~🎵🎹🌿🍀☘🌹🌹☘🍀🌿❤❤
Where the f did this Zlata come from all of a sudden? This is incredible playing. The attention to detail and nuance. The color, the lines.
For me she lives up to her name Zlata. She's the golden girl of the piano 🌷

How do I find that interview?
caps lock violation
I can't stop listening, it's beautifully played...
The 7 people that don;t like this are either deaf or simply dislike Chopin's music. What else can I infer?
At the very least, that tastes are not universal. Not even yours. ;)

Rubinstein said he wasn't good enough to play them (words to that effect).
Eats alive all the robots at the Chopin Competition.

As I've stated before for me Zlata gives the best account of these demanding masterpieces since the glory days of the young Ashkenazy.
BETTER! --- More HEART!
39:13 - her double thirds 😍
it's wonderful!!! but... goodness... so were the rest of them...

@@sfd373 agree...
Since all thirds are considered doubles, you may want to leave out the word "double" in "double thirds". 🤓

Un poco demasiado rápido para mi gusto!
Her and Louis lortie are the greatest masters of these etudes.
You've got the last two titles mixed up
Prematurely cut the etude op 25 no. 5. Hopefully the CD doesn’t have this problem.

Mainstream traditional textbook reading.
Very clean technically but completely
lacking any memorable expression.
