Nick Lowe composed that song. But Elvis and his attractions do it so much punchy !! Elvis the real one !! Awesome, gigantic song writer and singer !!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Elvis is one of those guys who is Too Cool..... "Alison"... "Miracle Man"... "Watching The Detectives".... "Red Shoes"..."Welcome To The Working Week"... "I'm Not Angry"..."Waiting For The End Of The World"... "Blame It On Cain"........
Classic song. Thank you for doing it and nice job. Elvis Costello “Pump it Up” is a barn burner. You will wonder how he can still walk today after seeing his footwork! His version of “Penny Lane” at the White House in a tribute to Paul McCartney was a nice part of a great evening. I learned some things about what makes Elvis tick that I still like to this day.
You found an iconic song and iconic artist. The song was written 50 years ago in 1974 by Nick Lowe (rabbit hole) and first performed then with his band Brinsley Schwarz. Later in 1979 Elvis Costello (rabbit hole) recorded the song with Nick Lowe producing it. It has been covered by many artists including Bruce Springsteen (rabbit hole) and I believe most recently by Sharon Van Etten (rabbit hole). She recorded a video during “lockdown” with protocols in place. It was a bluesy downbeat take on the song, unlike most other covers being upbeat and bouncy. There was an Easter Egg in her video, a cameo by Nick Lowe. I think this is one of the more special songs having a 50th Anniversary. It’s as relevant today as it was 50 years ago, maybe even more. Great reaction, you got it. Oh Elvis’ cover was the biggest hit of all of them.
I saw Elvis ROCK the place twice. He has a very unique sound and BRILLIANT lyrics. I first suggested ... :Alison'.... And... "Miracle Man" last year. Glad to see you get around to this awesome artist.
Elvis Costello has had a lot of great songs over his long career...Accidents Will Happen, Radio Radio, Veronica, God Give Me Strength, Allison, Pump It Up, all great.
I too like Nock Lowe's original of this song. Elvis Costello is also a great songwriter. I recommend Nick Lowe's 1970s Rockpile, collaborations with Dave Edmunds another fabulous British writer and singer who grew up listening to American 50s music. Writes and sings songs so American sounding and his cover of the "Ronette's "Bay, I Need Your Loving" is a lot like having Ronnie Spector back with us.Eddy Money in the in the eighties had her guest star on one of her songs belting out"Just like Ronnie said 'Be my little baby.'" Sorry for going on and on but investigating any artis I named would be fun and rewarding."
Sweet! From his 1977 debut on, Elvis Costello released a new album every year for eleven years. That level of song writing production is insane. When you're ready for more from him, check out "Radio, Radio", "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes", "Accidents Will Happen", "I Hope You're Happy Now", along with so many others.
Elvis Costello is a legend. He's written a ton of beautiful, and very catchy songs. Here's some I cna think of: Watching the Detectives, Oliver's Army, Alison, I Don't Want to go to Chelsea, Accidents Will Happen. There's so many more. Have fun. Love that you are a young man looking at this older music. This old lady really enjoys your reactions (I'm a massive Beatles fan!). 🙌🏽 ❤
Some new "Not Familiar With" artist.... Men At Work - "Down Under"...... Simon And Garfunkel - "Bridge Over Troubled Water".... Grand Funk Railroad - "I'm Your Captain"
Good Day JM, I just watched your first Livestream again. You have NEVER gone to a concert. If you hang out with me you'll go to 6-8 every year.. Since 1966 I have seen nearly everybody worth seeing in over 300 shows. I wonder what size screen do you watch videos on?

Nicke Lowe told Elvis to punch it up (faster tempo). I am ALL over anything Nick Lowe, Elvis, Dave Edmunds, etc.!

That driving rhythm underscores just how much this question bears asking. My kids have grown up hearing this.
A Gen X anthem for sure. ❤
I’m a boomer and love it. We have similarities!
his album My Aim is True is still in my rotation today!
His first first three albums are killer! I love most of his but those are insane.

Elvis Costello is a good one. His music & creation are of his own.
The drummer for The Attractions, Pete Thomas, is the real hero of this and many other Elvis Costello songs.
They were so rockin'
Good reaction and analysis of the song. Elvis Costello collaborated with Paul McCartney and I would recommend the songs Veronica and My Brave Face. 😎

The song was written by Nick Lowe who is someone you might want to check out as well! So It Goes would be a great start! A booming masterpiece!
❤
Oliver’s Army needs to be on your radar for next react. Nice job!
An amazing Nick Lowe song.
Some new "Not Familiar With" artist.... Men At Work - "Down Under"...... Simon And Garfunkel - "Bridge Over Troubled Water".... Grand Funk Railroad - "I'm Your Captain"
