Yeah even based off what he said it didn't make sense. If the show is during 19 BBY and she died in 20 BBY, how is she there if it's not a flashback lol. but yeah you're correct because S1 is happening concurrent to RoTS and in S2 there's a 1 year time jump. And it sounds like there's another time jump in this season because Hunter says "she's been waiting for us for a long time"
@@xyrotsSeason 1 and the first 6 episodes of season two take place between 19 and 18 BBY, the rest of season 2 is during 18 bby so I'm betting that season three will take place between 18 and 17 BBY
I mean, she was dead looong before TBB show even premiered, to be honest here lol. If I remember all of this off the top of my head right, her death was on Christophsis, near the end of the war. While Cody and other clones mortar-shelled the droid outpost nearby to provide a distraction for Obi-Wan and Anakin to safely and quickly reach them, Dooku, Vos and Ventress were having their duel and Ventress ended up sacrificing her life to save Vos and she was officially pronounced dead and laid to rest back on Dathomir--all before the end of the war and before the clones had officially turned against the entire Jedi Order. TBB starts with just a tiny bit of the Clone War and then Order 66 had already commenced just minutes after. The incident on Christophsis involving Ventress and Vos happened several months before all that.
I'm betting a pre Dark Deciple flashback... Or possibly clone? Regardless I can't wait to see her again. Ventress was one of my favorite Clone Wars characters and I was always upset that, though at least we got the story via the amazing book, it was never produced as an episode ark.

If you didn't realize, but it showed teth in the trailer where the temple was on fire and the very first clone wars animation was the movie and teth was one of the first planets we got to see,we're going back to our roots
I literally just watched this and was wondering where your reaction was.......and all I can say is HOLY HELL THIS IS GOING TO BE A MASSIVELY FUN FINAL SEASON!!!!!!
Last I checked, Dark Disciple took place just before the end of the Clone Wars and it resulted in Ventress’ death. No see, what we have here, is a RETCON! They’re retconning her death and I’m so happy about that.
I feel like I should mention, 19 BBY is a year _AFTER_ 20 BBY, not before. Years in BBY are negatives, like years in BCE. Also, Dark Disciple actually took place in 19 BBY, and Bad Batch season 2 was in 18 BBY, so it still takes place a year after Dark Disciple.
This series is what I’m most excited for! The work and attention to detail is outstanding! Jennifer Corbett knows her Star Wars! I am so excited for this!
The fact Ahsoka ended with Thrawn and the Night Mothers heading to Dathomir. Also, the cargo "appeared" to be coffins and zombie troopers being resurrected, it all suggested that Night Sisters would be resurrected, and maybe that included Ventress. I presumed Dave Filoni would resurrect Ventress if Ahsoka was going that way, maybe Bad Batch might lay the foundation for it and straight up do it. I really have no idea what will happen, but I'm excited to see where it all goes.
Some people need to understand that BBY is negative years because it means “Before the Battle of Yavin”, which is the battle from “A New Hope”. Since Dark Disciple takes place in 20 BBY and “The Bad Batch” takes place in 19 BBY, this makes sense.
Guys, don't worry about "is it a retcon". On the star wars website, on the page for the trailer, they explicitly state that Ventress' appearance here will not retcon the end of Dark Disciple.
A couple of things that I noticed in the trailer: Rex is no longer wearing his pauldron, and while I didn’t see if he was also lacking his Kama, I think this may be the start of his progression to how Rex appeared in Star Wars: Rebels, where he no longer has both his pauldron and kama. Also, Wolffe’s story of how he ends up being with Rex and Gregor may finally be answered in season three. Lastly, I barely saw any inclusion of Echo, so does that give a foreboding hint that this may be the last time we’ll ever see Echo in a Star Wars series? After all, Echo was not with Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor in Rebels, so that makes me considerably nervous about Echo’s fate.
@@55CRAVECASEThey should’ve taken more time in previous seasons to show what these others clones have been going through. Cody also better be a regular
After her death her body was laid to rest in the waters of her village on Dathomir, waters that I bet were imbued with Nightsister Magick. I bet that is the reason for her survival
That's a bit of an over-exaggeration, but I see what you mean lol. But there's plenty of build up all throughout, I just wish there were less of those meandering moments in select episodes and more of the plot, among other exciting, grander elements to the entire galaxy at hand. Crazy why they decide to screw around instead at times. Im glad rex and wolf and greggor will be in it as well, maybe a clue as to how they end up on together in rebels. So excited about ventress as well. Also, that cheeky shot of cross's sniper in that shot with hunter talking. Im so excited about everything. But that masked guy in the black armour is hurting my head. Ive got it down to a few people, tech, cross or a/the first inquisitor.
I think you have your dates mixed up. 20BBY, when Dark Discipple takes place, is still during the clone wars because Dooku is massively involved in it. Bad batch is after the end of the clone wars which was 19bby, so Ventress did in fact return through some means, possibly a reesurrection since she was laid to rest in the dathomirian waters of the nightsisters
You were super close. The Wookiepedia officially marks Dark Disciple at 19BBY and TBB is also 19BBY. Dark Disciple took place just months before the end of the war. Other than that, yep. It's been at least 2 if not over 2 years since her supposed "death" now in TBB S3.
Like I've been saying on twitter, Ventress was buried in a magic lake and she's a Nightsister to boot so I'm leaning heavily on resurrection. Let's GO!
Not to mention the fact they even had Zombie Nightsisters in that one episode, Massacre. Interesting to see that Ventress herself appears to not be a zombie, however, lol. Then again, Maul was sort of resurrected as well, as in his mind was fully put back together via the dark magix, so I can probably see that for Ventress as well + some revival potions if she indeed died back on Christophsis, that is. Overall, this is incredibly fascinating and I'm very curious how they're going to explain all of this.
Really not that long to wait and I can’t wait for this it looks soooo freaking good!!! Ventress is back I’m so happy, but also really sad that’s it the final time 😢

I think its same time. If you look at the unfinished scene with Asajj and the other bounty hunters is on Pantora. A small tower on the unfinished scene somebody hanging out from the tower...... yes the same tower Omega in BB season 1 hangs out from....
I can definitely get behind this retcon. All for more Ventress. EDIT: Pretty sure Dark Disciple takes place before Bad Batch, because a major element of the book is trying to assassinate Dooku, and Bad Batch starts with Order 66.
It's not during DD. DD occurred during the Clone Wars and BB occurs after TCW is over, as Dooku, the guy who "killed" her is dead. My theories: 1) It's a flashback. Maybe they meet Quinlan or something. 2) Like Legends, she maybe went into a healing meditation that made it seem like she was dead, and then returned. There's no way they would completely change an entire story like that anyway, just because they change a few details covered in the comics or novels - especially when those details can be explained away, like Kanan remembering things wrong due to years of alcoholism when he has flashbacks to Kaller in the comics, etc.
I want AZ-3 back. I hated how he was barely in season 2 instead of being part of the team. But now they have no excuse. He went with them as they escaped the Empire and his primary objective is to ensure Omega's safety. He has to be with them as they search for her.

Ventress alive and kicking. Fennec drinking. Bane looking cool. Phee being cool. Wolffe turning up. Omega piloting, obviously out of prison. Sneak shots suggesting Crosshair out of prison. The two characters (well, apart from Tech) it notably doesn't show much of are Echo - he's oddly absent in much of the trailer, shots of the Batch mostly show Hunter and Wrecker - and Emerie Karr. The two characters (well, apart from Tech) it notably doesn't show much of are Echo - he's oddly absent in much of the trailer, shots of the Batch mostly show Hunter and Wrecker - and Emerie Karr. The S2 finale suggested she'll be important for the plot, but we only get one brief face shot of her.
This is going to be awesome!!! Love your reactions, man. They match mine. Hahaha
Hopefully we see Wolfe remove his inhibitor chip this season and join with Rex and Greggor
Wolff is back!!!
2:14 is Wolfe I think
Tech will be a dark trooper, I can feeeel it!😭
I will celebrate if we get to see a Victory Star Destroyer
Ventress should be dead. Dooku is already dead and he kills her. 20BBY is before 19BBY, remember.
AHHHHH I SCREAMED WHEN VENTRESS APPEARED!!!
Exciting trailer!
