Random but Yujiro reminds me of an episode off a cartoon I’ve seen. I think it’s Fairly Odd parents. There was an episode where Timmy wished to be the strongest on the beach and multiple times bigger and stronger guys kept coming and he just magically kept getting bigger and stronger once another guy took his first step on the beach. That’s like Yujiro the stronger other characters get he’s just automatically stronger just because 😂
I think it has a lot to do with how Baki surprised him so many times during their fight. Using the cockroach tackle completely caught him off guard. Baki being able to knock Yujiro unconscious for a brief instant by striking during the window between thought and action. Baki making the little metal figure while being nunchucked into a car. The most enjoyable parts of the battle for Yujiro were the parts his godlike perception couldn't anticipate. Now that he knows his sons are capable of things beyond his sight, I think he wants to give Jack a chance to surprise him too.
Perfectly said, Baki earned his respect and Jack is next. But neither of them could actually ever beat him, cause he gets even stronger at a quicker rate. It’s like trying to catch infinity 😂
Yujiros arc is very clearly about him learning to appreciate individual strenghts over general power and combat prowess. And I think the most recent interactions he had with Jack being a good proof of that.

I’m not Japanese, but I have lived there for a few years in my early 20’s. That being said, I’ve got Musashi tattoo’d on my hand, I’ve read his book multiple times and his real life lore is actually mythical in status, he’s the greatest sword fighter ever to exist and he did things that should be impossible. It makes complete sense they wouldn’t disrespect him like that.
Musashi is a goat so it makes sense, it’s not like Baki haven’t done this before with other historical figures I just feel like it could have been handled better.
I think Yujiro actually is kinder, but considering how brutal he was - it's just hard for baki universe outsiders to see. For example, I think that if Grandpa called him compassionate 10 years ago - he would get graped with no warning
The way I see it is this. The other fighters are getting more and more powerful. Yujiro never had a peer before honestly. Now he has some people who aren't on his level but possibly on the same plane as him, including his son. He acknowledges these fighters where before he'd brush them off. They might not yet deserve his respect but they at least warrant his acknowledgement. On top of that He's been spending time with baki and the others meaning maybe they're starting to have an effect on him
Why does it feel like the author has a hard on for Yujiro, like so much that he cannot let the newer protagonist ever beat him, be it Baki or Jack. Like everyone gets built up to at the very best be recognized by him rather than beat him.
Well, when the entire point of a character is to be the strongest your options when introducing new strong characters are to either remove the previous strongest from the show or keep them as the strongest, it's a pretty simple set of choices
because thats yujiros design? hes the strongest creature.. every new enemy, character, etc all strive to finally go up against yujiro. its what readers want. im honestly confused.. there are so many strong fighters that we get to see with excellent back and forths, having them finally reach yujiro at the end of the arc and get their salad tossed is the entire point of his character. i really wish i could explain how absolutely dumb you are without youtube blocking me.

i think im not the only one in the baki fandom who already hated yujiro enough to consider him a worthy villain for the story, so having a revelation that he just r*pes people for fun rather than to breed children to fight him was completely unnecessary and sort of out of place for the story the mangaka was supposedly trying to tell.

How i see it, Yujiro already conquered battle tactics, combat and power a long time ago. Now that he already stablished he's the apex, he grew bored of it and decided to face a challenge so difficult, he has been avoiding it ever since his first son born; Being an actually decent father. His power doesn't only come from his muscles, but also from his formidable intelligence, which carries him to the unavoidable conclusion that the only improvement he's capable of accomplishing is growing from the inside.
