Ive only followed the Netflix anime, with Doppo being my favorite character, but I'm surprised at how highly Yujiro respects him considering how often he loses. Even in the most recent arc in the anime, Katsumi one shot Doppo. Years ago, I asked another fan if Doppo ever makes a comeback snd they said he pretty much peaked at fighting Yujiro and beating Dorian, from there he pretty much becomes the Krillin of the fighters. Hopefully in the couple of years since, thats changed.
I have yet to see the Miyamoto Musashi arc, but what struck me is that there are 2 characters whom Yujiro Hanma has complete respect for and even some form of buddy-buddy comradery relationship with them. and they are Mohamad Ali Sr. and Biscuit Oliva. Yujiro defeated Ali. Sr's friends just to get the man's attention like some demented fan or stalker. but then we see later their conversation when talking about the 3-year hiatus Ali. Sr went as a punishment for refusing to go to war to Vietnam and I think this is the first "normal" conversation yujiro had with any person without usually threatening them. even the mangaka said that real-life Mohamad Ali had a huge positive impact on him and his growth. so much that he gave the most vile character in his franchise the same admiration and respect to the man himself. even when Ali. In the RaiTai tournament arc, we see some rare moments of Yujiro treating biscuit oliva like he is his basketball roommate giving him a playful back slap and face punch. it's pretty wild.
Ali Jr arc was about showing an opponent on the same path as Baki, balanced strength/spirit/technique aiming for the height of human capability, (where the other arcs are about Baki reaching the height in one category after another, IE: Oliva was the height of human physical strength) but Ali Jr's philosophy was flawed. It comes across as a one-sided beatdown vs Baki, but the bits with the other z-warriors busting Ali Jr up despite his injuries explains why it happened. He thought of it as a sport, and wasn't really ready to put it on the line anywhere /anytime. Which meant in the end, he wasn't really standing at the line with Baki after all. (and of course once Baki reaches human peak in all categories the following arcs are a repeat just in the super-human rankings, Pickle as peak super-human strength, Musashi skill, Nomi spirit, and Yujiro as the pinnacle of all.)
I think Strydum’s description of Gaia and comparing him to Yujiro wasn’t so much exaggeration but certainly a perception plot point that I see in two different ways: It can probably be perceived with it being very early in the series that Gaia was among the strongest characters shown at that point just so Baki can be scaled to Gaia if he was defined as near Yujiro’s level just to make them showing off Yujiro easily defeating Gaia be a statement that Baki definitely grew stronger at that point but Yujiro was still many leagues above, not necessarily making Gaia be seen as weaker just simply Yujiro is that much on another level when any fighter within the top 5 strongest at that point in the series still trails so far behind him. The other way to see what Strydum meant is likely the perception of Gaia and Yujiro as soldiers in regards in how they handle doing the job rather than pure combat skills which makes it more sensible that they can be seen as even as Yujiro has more capabilities but has a personality that wouldn’t like being ordered around and do things his way meanwhile Gaia is just capable enough to do what is needed and does what is asked of him making him more easier to work with. If I had to make up a scenario in which Yujiro and Gaia had the same mission to the same goal, it’d be like assigning them the task to take out a few specific targets within a building without bringing too much attention to themselves as possible. Gaia would carry out the job and do exactly that, meanwhile Yujiro would just barge right and just completely destroy everyone so that there wouldn’t be commotion as no one else would be alive to start one. They can both get the task done but thru their own methods.
I love the videos the rankings all that but one thing i wish you said was yuhiros greatest sign of respect for baki was when he stood in the kitchen and made (what some would say) imaginary miso soup with tofu But i call it spiritual miso soup with tofu that was a bit too salty and would have unalived yujiro Super great video
Yujiro was more of a guide to Baki's development. The people he admired, he did because they would expand their outlook on combat. Like reading a book that your father recommended you read for learning sake, but translate the pages for punches/kicks. The ultimate love is to lead by example and prepare your child to be fully protected and capable. Those who understood that and didnt slack off are the ones he would check in with. The ultimate peer mentor.
Great topic! Which past Yujiro are we talking? The old grappler Baki when Baki first one the tournament? If we take that Yujiro it is still difficult because of his feat stopping and earthquake with one punch with no demon back. And that was a few years prior to that. Brand new Baki fans miscalculate his strength because of pickle. Pickle is either equal or a bit stronger than a BASE Yujiro with no demon back. Anytime the topic of them fighting that is always conveniently left out. It is very hard to say because we don’t know the upper limits of Yujiro using his demon back even back then. Anytime that was shown it was game over. Anyone who says pickle would still win is going off of pure head canon. With demon back it is VERY hard to have this discussion. If we take the demon back out the equation Musashi wins, pickle wins, Baki with his demon back, Kaku kaioh(MAYBE), and …think that’s about it
if we are talking young Yujiro up until prisoners arc, he would not only beat them up, but straight up kill them or severely injure them. He fractured Hanayama's right leg before crushing his skull after Hanayama and Baki had a grueling fight and were both barely conscious. He killed Yasha and crushed Gaia. He killed Doppo inside the ring (it was the slimmest of chances that Kureha was inside Tokio Dome and was willing to resurrect him with an unorthodox method). He incapacitated Amanai Yu and sent Baki to sleep with a tip of his finger. Young Yujiro was as savage as it gets.
I'm gonna argue against Yujiro being the "ultimate embodiment of martial arts". He hates using martial arts, even if he does know them and use them if he has to. He prefers raw strength,
its because he is already too op with raw strength alone, adding martial arts to mix is like adding fuel to the fire, he becomes so OP it would be no fun for him
yeah his way of showing love to his son is tough love really really really tough love also lets not forget this man walked into his sons home before baki and his girlfriend could get freaking and gave them his blessing to get freaky that moment i still laugh at
Shirakawa wasn't mentioned, but I think The Ogre would be mildly interested since Shirakawa's Ki technique beat Orochi's Karate in the underground tournament as a special match. Shirakawa also broke Olivia's wrist at the police HQ Judo facility. It's a shame that these two have not had more interactions. Even when Yujiro bitch-slapped Yanagi, he never acknowledged Shirakawa's presence. And Shirakawa has also been a major plot point for Baki's development. All in all, while the Ogre would most likely overwhelm Shirakawa, I might be too generous when I say that Yujiro might respect Shirakawa a little less than Emperor Kaku.
I disagree with Yujiro having any respect for emi akizawa. he literally picked her up to bear his child because she has the same sadistic streak as him to see other people suffer. hoping that his son would inherit both their ruthlessness and their sadistic nature. yujiro literally has no love or even respect for her as he said to Emi, and I literally quote here: "If you fail to raise baki as i told you, your life would be wasted as a middle-aged prostitute". he never even called her a "wife" nor they have some form of any official holly matrimony where they were legally called "Husband" and "Wife". yujiro just picked a woman and impregnated her because she is as demented and crazy as him. and when he killed her, he felt nothing. if he did it was only a fraction of the same body fat he has, and then he reverted straight back to his old self, being extremely ruthless and apathetic to others.
Muhammad Ali deserves true respect. He is the man who fights for the vulnerable and against racism and even invented his own fighting methods for that. And until Yogero understood that and respected it for him.
I know im boring, but admiration, is formed with two latin words ad: from below, and mira: looking, so when somebody have your admiration it means you looking up to them and i dont think that this character look up to anybody ❤
Yes right... And also Mohammed didn't care aboutYogero and whether he respects him or not,,,, because Mohammed is a wonderful man who invented his own fighting style for justice and against racism, and this is what no one else did, And Yogero understand this and respect it for that
something to mention: yujiro does respect katsumi as after the pickle fight, both doppo and yujiro sit in a bar to talk about katsumi, then yujiro compliments katsumi himself. Also about jack, in the latest baki rahen, yujiro does have like 75 percent respect
If I ever managed to create that Capcom/DC/ShonenJump AU I hope to create, I’ll like to make Batman Yujiro’s one and only true equal when I get to my interpretation of the Batman mythos, and it can go something like this: When Bruce leaves Gotham to travel the world in order to become Batman. He’s travels eventually lead him to meet Yujiro Hanma, and earns the right to become he’s disciple. Eventually their ideologies clash and they fight until Bruce achieves the unthinkable by beating The Ogre in a straight fight. Impressed by Bruce’s resolve Yujiro declares Bruce his one and only true equal. In order to keep infamy from overwhelming Bruce’s crusade as The Batman, Yujiro makes a solemn vow to never tell no one about ever meeting Bruce, in the eyes of the world Yujiro is the strongest creature on Earth, while in secret Batman is the “true” strongest creature on Earth. And if Bruce is ever in the process of training another Robin, Yujiro would be more than happy to train that Robin in the muscle and strength department. Batman = Edward Kenway Yujiro Hanma = Blackbeard I just love the idea of Batman humbling The Ogre into becoming a better person. 😉
I would imagine Yujiro would have a level of respect for Shibukawa. Shibukawa gave alot of strong fighters a toweling. He turn olivers wrist into a pretzel and mocked yanagi like he was nothing.
Emi did not stop yujiro to save baki thats not right, she was jelous of baki and wanted yujiro to attack her instead, she hated baki and yujiro did not like this, be cause she isn't as strong as baki is. So emi trained and make baki a fighter as a gift for yujiro.
I think yujiro does respect nome as he managed to survive a full on punch from him and stay standing. also his sidekick forced yujiro to use defensive shaori and after the fight he said he was willing to play with him again.

I love the videos the rankings all that but one thing i wish you said was yuhiros greatest sign of respect for baki was when he stood in the kitchen and made (what some would say) imaginary miso soup with tofu
But i call it spiritual miso soup with tofu that was a bit too salty and would have unalived yujiro
Super great video
Yujiro was more of a guide to Baki's development. The people he admired, he did because they would expand their outlook on combat.
Like reading a book that your father recommended you read for learning sake, but translate the pages for punches/kicks.
The ultimate love is to lead by example and prepare your child to be fully protected and capable.
Those who understood that and didnt slack off are the ones he would check in with. The ultimate peer mentor.
Im praising your work for this videos. Keep em up! Love your content! Can't wait to see more of Jack.
Oh, I got a good one. Could most of the fighters at their current peak, could they defeat past yujiro before the pickle arc to the mussaci arc?
If we take the demon back out the equation Musashi wins, pickle wins, Baki with his demon back, Kaku kaioh(MAYBE), and …think that’s about it
@@Supreme0757 is probably grappler yujiro to the tournament before the persion arc.
if we are talking young Yujiro up until prisoners arc, he would not only beat them up, but straight up kill them or severely injure them.
@@cnh2132 great points
Baki and Musashi have the most and right under them pickle, Kaku, Doppo, and oliva and everything and everyone after that is little to zero respect
Hanayama?
@@ironrevenger9386 We do but idk how much Yujiro does
@@Supreme0757 88% is pretty good. Considering Hanayama’s growing strength it could increase
Muhammad Ali?
Awesome video! Subscribing 😎
A video on the real strenght of Kaku Kaioh could be cool
I'm gonna argue against Yujiro being the "ultimate embodiment of martial arts". He hates using martial arts, even if he does know them and use them if he has to. He prefers raw strength,
its because he is already too op with raw strength alone, adding martial arts to mix is like adding fuel to the fire, he becomes so OP it would be no fun for him
And lost to Pickle in terms of Pure Raw Strength
It's because martial arts are there to help the weak fight against the strong. Yujiro is the strong one, he doesn't need martial arts
Yujiro respects the old poison man
Hmm
I like the stone ocean theme playing in the background
Can't wait till they release baki vs kengan ashura
yeah his way of showing love to his son is tough love really really really tough love also lets not forget this man walked into his sons home before baki and his girlfriend could get freaking and gave them his blessing to get freaky that moment i still laugh at
Isekai Retsu coming back to Earth is gonna be lit
There are some people that Quin left out for example Jack Hanma, and biscut oliva but this video seems acurate
I'm starting to think pickle is some sort of ancestor to yujro and baki. Pickle has the same demon back as yujiro and baki
I think he just has a very muscular back.
What level of respect did Yujiro give those tranquilizer darts!?🤳🏽🤔
I know im boring, but admiration, is formed with two latin words ad: from below, and mira: looking, so when somebody have your admiration it means you looking up to them and i dont think that this character look up to anybody ❤
Where did you get that picture of yujiro from in your thumbnail ?
Muhammad Ali is the person Yujiro Respects the most
Yes right... And also Mohammed didn't care aboutYogero and whether he respects him or not,,,, because Mohammed is a wonderful man who invented his own fighting style for justice and against racism, and this is what no one else did, And Yogero understand this and respect it for that
There was a anime before the Netflix one?
Great to see Kosho getting a good showing
something to mention: yujiro does respect katsumi as after the pickle fight, both doppo and yujiro sit in a bar to talk about katsumi, then yujiro compliments katsumi himself.
Also about jack, in the latest baki rahen, yujiro does have like 75 percent respect
Nice
I' really love this anime you know*
Yujiro felt disgust towards Jack when they first met. He knew Baki would win.
I did like the respect Yujiro had for Ali senior
If I ever managed to create that Capcom/DC/ShonenJump AU I hope to create, I’ll like to make Batman Yujiro’s one and only true equal when I get to my interpretation of the Batman mythos, and it can go something like this:
When Bruce leaves Gotham to travel the world in order to become Batman.
Batman = Edward Kenway
Yujiro Hanma = Blackbeard
I just love the idea of Batman humbling The Ogre into becoming a better person. 😉
this sounds cool, good luck to you
Yujiro would smoke Batman
1:46 That "contract" is similar to Toguro and his minions Karasu & Bui, in _Yu Yu Hakusho._ They were recruited against their will.
I would imagine Yujiro would have a level of respect for Shibukawa. Shibukawa gave alot of strong fighters a toweling. He turn olivers wrist into a pretzel and mocked yanagi like he was nothing.
6:27
Yujiro vs Shanks
Battle of the Emperors of the sea
I can imagine if I earn yujiro hanma respect that will be cool
Guvara would be at least a solid 70. Remember when he said when he attacked Busch about wanting to fight him
Emi did not stop yujiro to save baki thats not right, she was jelous of baki and wanted yujiro to attack her instead, she hated baki and yujiro did not like this, be cause she isn't as strong as baki is. So emi trained and make baki a fighter as a gift for yujiro.
Hanma blood is so strong that the embryo already starts out as a male 101% of the time
lol the way the narrator says “Hanma”
well actually yujiro despiced jack for using juice
No he didn’t. Yujiro knows it immediately after jacks first fight and just says “Interesting!”
I thought he didn't like him simply for the fact that he wasn't in his league.
I don't think he really cared what means he used to gain that strength.
I bet he would’ve respected Presidents like George Washington or Abraham Lincoln since they were strong willed fighters.
No mention of Shibukawa?
bro my bro jack hanma needs some respect.
I think yujiro does respect nome as he managed to survive a full on punch from him and stay standing. also his sidekick forced yujiro to use defensive shaori and after the fight he said he was willing to play with him again.
Still waiting for other of Yujiro's children, he said he said he had spread his seeds all over the world.
I wonder what's his level of respect for Ohma or Kuroki now that they've met.
This just makes me wonder why TV Tropes listed Yujiro as The Scrappy when he clearly has enough fans to be divisive at worst
Yuijiro deep down loves Motobe, he is just a tsundere
Forgot busquit Oliva Mr America. He was definitely respected by the Orge
Yo what's the song at the end of this video ???
London Black: Real Friends
Imagine the second strongest man on the worlds name is biscuit.
Kawaii
You do not want to piss off yujiro
There is 2 people no Not people. Straight up ENTITIES Kengen Ashura people don't wanna meet. *Pickle and Yuijiro* If they meet em.... they better pray that pickle ain't hungry and Yuijiro is in a good mood
Funny how the son had a serious face when doing it while the farther was smiling calmly
Now which one is scarier the farther who beat us with a calm face or the don who had serious face
Yujiro doesn't give a crap about Jack lol he considers Baki his only kid
Amanai would be a great character to see again.
Yeah, but did you see what Yujiro did to him? Dude lost his scalp! 😳
@@edwardgaines6561 So? Haniyama and Dopo lost most of their faces.

Yeah

Day 1 of requesting a visiting to garoudean.
What is the name of the music in the video
Outro? London Black: Real Friends
Yujiro Hanma is basically All Might if he went evil in his prime XDXD
More like All Migth with 0% heroism
Id put gaia higher since yujiro didnt expose him in pickles cell, not that high but a bit higher
About gaia if they fought in the jungle Gaia would surely put up a good fight because Gaia is an expert at gorilla warfare
Yujiro then 👿👹
Yujiro now 🗿
101% respect for yuchiro hanma
Where was Oliver!
HOW ABOUT THE ONLY BARTENDER IN THE SERIES?
The way they did Ali jr was straight bullshit
Aint no way Yujiro became a Yonko 💀
