Yes can confirm. As a German I was always sad about my boring bread while my Vietnamese friend had a whole box of rice and fried meat/egg/veggies. I asked if I could try some cause she couldn't finish it all. This went on for a few days until the box was almost bursting with food. Turned out her mom noticed my friend had been sharing food so she cooked two portions 😢

An average student in my school will have a 2-tower lunch box, include rice, protein (both meat and tofu), vegie soup, a carton of milk or bottle of water and at least 1 kind of fruit, a spoon and chopsticks. Rarely anyone have sweets for their lunch, we don't usually eat them after meal
