Well, he got hit in the throat, so...I 'guess' that means he can't handle snaps or get plays off early or throw to an outlet receiver when they blitz. I'm with you - getting tired of folks defending this play and finding others to blame. He 'did' make 3 great throws in the game (the called-back TD and the 4th and 3rd-and-long conversions on the last drive), but as we know, it takes more than 3 good throws to win a game.
Exactly it's strange how he and many suddenly defend a player akin to Rodgers with none of the Prime Rodgers on field awareness. And Cowherd always talks about his QB being 'quarterbackial'. A.k.a QBs in the vein of Brock, Geno, Wilson, Dak, etc. Even if they don't have 'talent' like Caleb or Darnold(who took 7 years to start playing like a starter should).

@@TheFrenchPug that’s dumb. The last thing we need is another investment at receiver and there’s no obvious solution at QB. Build up the lines of scrimmage and build the infrastructure first
They just played super safe trusting in their defense and avoiding mistakes at all cost. Weather wasn't great and their defense was playing well but it was not fun to watch.
Wait a minute…. Every single person on sports talk shows said he(Caleb) was going to a ready made playoff team….. Now everyone is backpedaling quicker than Michael Jackson’s MoonWalk…
This idea that Caleb’s not a huge part of the problem is wild - when you watch the all 22 it clear that he doesn’t see the field as well as you should. He’s gotten great nfl pockets on a lot of drop backs, doesn’t see easy throws across his face (like kyler and Tua miss) on throws 15+ yards down the field he’s OBJECTIVELY HORRIBLE. He has shaky mechanics at best - plays kind of like Aaron and Kyler but doesn’t have any where near Aaron’s throwing ability or Kyler’s athleticism. Caleb can obviously play qb in the nfl but he’s never going to be a transformational talent like you guys all swore - he’s closer to 6’0 than 6’2 has below average athleticism for the nfl his arm is good not great and worst of all has poor body language and attitude. His floor is bad - his ceiling is top 12-20 qb in the nfl.
@@robe2504I giving a chance I was low on him this entire time. He does some good things just not consistently but he’s not talented enough to not do things the roght way at least most of the time
He's athletic and has his moments but he also throws some awful INTs. While I think he's better than Colin gives him credit for he's probably not good enough to be a foundational QB.
When I saw Caleb look to his left to dump it off on an open DJ Moore and then completely disregard it to throw to the RB with the defense sitting on their back at the line of scrimmage, I realized, this dude doesn't know what he's doing.
Literally know what play youre talking about. That game was awful. Im a chiefs fan, and joked with my bears friend, " damn this is what y'all have to watch, thats tough", Yikes lol. Dudes not that good tbh.
It’s okay to struggle as a Rookie QB, but he’s not showing any flashes of talent. When the game is early or tight he doesn’t play well. Stats are misleading because he doesn’t throw into tight windows and starts making plays when the game is out of reach and the coverage loosens up. A top defense with above average weapons is not a normal situation for a team drafting #1. Caleb has to shoulder a large percentage of his own issues.
I think he shows flashes of talent, just doesn't seem to have any idea of how to play QB, and is too busy pouting after every error to lead. Just look across at Sammy D. All business on the field. No panic, just calm, and urgent when required. No emotion until afterwards.
It's funny that he always talks about finding offensive minded coaches, but all of his top candidates and examples of culture changers are defense 1st coaches
@@robertbrown380Dan Campbell is not calling the offensive plays, his offensive coordinator is calling the plays. Soooo…..what does Dan Campbell have to say? Nothing he’s a defensive coach as he played defensive in the NFL. Hes not the reason the offense is good as it is

This is gaslighting at its finest. To sit there and not give Caleb any blame for his obvious shortcomings and awful play like we all didn’t watch the same exact game 😂 okay Collin 🤡
Colin, I usually agree with you but Caleb goes against things you say you need to be a good QB. Smart between the ears, be able to throw from the pocket, he runs into sacks and he has horrible body language and can’t read the room. After the year the Bears have had he decided to wear a Santa hat to the pre game interview. Sure coaching has been a mess but also look at the weapons he has. What would Bo Nix do with those weapons?
6:30 I'm old enough to remember Colin Cowherd and others praising the Rome pick. Before the season started, they said the offensive line was great. Now, the WR pick was bad because they had a bad o line. Notice Colin didn't say the line was bad when Fields was getting beat up.
Caleb does have all the talent in them world, the biggest question is does he have the mental toughness to be a pro. There is a large body of evidence going back to college saying maybe not.
I used to love the NBA. I love basketball. The most well rounded NBA team I've ever seen was the 2004 Detroit Pistons. They were fun to watch and played great defense. After 2004 the NBA said, no more defense, and LeBron and Dewayne Wade were free to carry the ball uncontested all the way to the rim. The game has never been the same.
I don’t like seeing guys fail, but it does bring a little smile to my face that when the bengals had a joint practice with the bears this season and I had to hear bears fans tell me how much better Caleb Williams is than Joe Burrow.
I just never bought into the idea that defense in sports is a bad thing. All three major sports have gone overboard at one point or another to force more offense. Having NBA teams scoring 130-150 points regularly does not get me excited, because in order to make it happen, the defenses have been neutered. In the 1980's you had highly skilled teams like the Lakers and the Celtics who played well on both ends of the floor. These endless shootouts today are mind numbingly boring. I don't mind a high scoring game, but you have to take the shackles off the defense and give them a chance.
No he didn't. He compared one of their stat lines to show that caleb hasn't been awful individually. Thats all he did he didn't compare them as quarterbacks or football players as a whole.
I stop the video once he said that madness…of course he has more than Patrick because he’s always playing from behind all the time but that doesn’t mean he’s playing good because of a couple of 300 yard games…you can say the same thing for jameis 😂
Collin loves Caleb because he's from USC and looked good against kids that over half aren't going to the NFL and is running around for 10-15 seconds. Thats not gonna cut it in the NFL everyone is good.
And because he was scared to throw past the line of scrimmage. I watched them do a play against the Vikings were a receiver orbits around the QB after motion. At first it looked exactly like how Greenbay uses Reed. Then I realised after the snap I couldnt see the guy. They Bears designed the play to pass 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage with the motion guy barely jogging.
Colin if the Bears want a true culture change then bring in Pete Carroll. Period. End of story. Drop the mic. Have him bring in a protege. Give him three years to achieve greatness while grooming a successor. Then turn it over and retire at 75. Boom!
Caleb is in one of the worst franchises in the NFL. This is on the Bears, they are going to ruin him like they ruined Fields and just like the Panthers are trying to ruin Bryce Young. If his time with the Bears doesn’t work out then he should be given multiple chances to redeem himself just like Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff and the like. It’s funny how all these players get 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances yet folks are ready to write Caleb off after one season. Like be for real. And to be clear, I have no dog in this fight, my team is in the AFC but we gotta call a thing a thing…
The media will do anything other than give an honest assessment of Caleb Williams. It’s ok to say he’s not that good right now. Will he be good in the future? That’s a conversation for another day.
The Super Bowl generational QB according to Colin is holding the ball way too long trying to read the field. His O line can’t hold off the rush for 6 seconds every play. 6:00
Caleb sucks. Everyone admits it but the media. They glaze him like they owe him money. He is the king of garbage time stats. He had tons of weapons and no one else gets to use o line as an excuse. He had two time outs and needed-5 yards and couldn’t get it.
what do you mean Geno Smith cant play? you had the Seahawks as one of your dark horse teams to win a division this year. you also said years ago that Matt Stafford would never win a superbowl. stop using Geno to make Caleb look better. But hey you do work in the media, so you gotta make somebody else look bad so you can push that narrative you and your kid Nick Wright were wrong about.
Bears would have won more games this year with Fields. Everyone spent the offseason touting the amazing moves of the Bears and predicting a playoff berth. Y’all played yourselves.
Colin continues to promote Caleb Williams. I don't see it. I see a B rookie quarterback struggling against the tide on a perennially dysfunctional franchise.
Two things can be true at once for Seattle (since no one will in mainstream will talk about them objectively). Geno smith has been a revelation and relevancy preserver for the Seahawks. The fact they traded Russ and remained competitive for the past three years is truly remarkable, however the reality of that is, you’re stuck in NFL Purgatory, consistently picking between 13-20 in the first round where all the blue chip players ( o line specifically where they struggle the most) is gone. Also what’s available in the QB market? Unless they give up the farm to get ward or sanders they’re stuck with Geno, or at best trade for darnold if they even can, and that’s if Minnesota chooses to keep them. They need o line bad, and probably a new OC. We’ll see about Mike Macdonald. As for the bears, it’s clear they should’ve traded for o line in the draft and gotten a culture changer at HC. Those are some objective thoughts.
It doesn’t matter if u have arm talent if u cannot process fast enough or read a defense or have no accuracy. He has to learn to play the QB position from the pocket which means get rid of the ball in 2-2.5 seconds or quick hot route in a blitz. half his sacks is because he thinks he can out run them or runs into sacks. Everything is so hard for him and nothing is easy.

He is tough in many ways yet soft otherwise. Running for his life, he makes good throws, sitting pocket and time to think, he sucks. Dandy.
how is he a diva?
I seriously don’t see it with Caleb man. I don’t see all the “talent”
He makes a couple off platform throws a game and he is the best thing since slice bread 🥪...I bet he doesn't get more than 7 wins next season
A guy like that needs to sit behind a qb for a couple of years like what the Packers do.
He makes some great plays that show sparks of talent, but he's not consistent and he takes sacks he shouldn't
Seahawks never scored enough to go into a prevent defense, so we saw how Caleb has really played all year.
Lol, you are right. No garbage time stats this week. When the announcers said the Bears hadnt led in score since week 12, that tells you all you need to know
Good point!
Same thing when he played the patriots 😂😂 garbage time merchant
Seattle playing like they want a draft pick not a superbowl ring
We need a QB and a franchise receiver in Seattle. Smith is awesome, but he's small. We need a guy like Jefferson on the Vikings, Kupp / Rams, Chase / Browns, etc. And 1 or 2 Offensive Lineman.
That Super Bowl ring is Washington’s this year dokt he surprised
@@TheFrenchPug that’s dumb. The last thing we need is another investment at receiver and there’s no obvious solution at QB. Build up the lines of scrimmage and build the infrastructure first
@@TheFrenchPugI agree with you on the qb part. But we have JSN he is absolutely just fine.
They just played super safe trusting in their defense and avoiding mistakes at all cost. To a fault imo, hard to argue a win but letting the clock run end of quarter and to 2 min warning just screams that you don't have faith in your offense.
And realistically it may be 15-25.
This is completely right
Watched every game he played at USC waiting to see Sam Darnold II. All I ever saw was painted nails, lots of scrambling, and crying on the bench.
Can he though? He can't do the basics. Doesn't understand what a 2 minute drill is. Looked worse than Rattler.
@@robe2504I giving a chance I was low on him this entire time. He does some good things just not consistently but he’s not talented enough to not do things the roght way at least most of the time
Colin's eyes are red asf. He had to smoke a bowl to get through this game
Lmao 😂😂
Or he just woke up from a nap 😂
The guy cannot read defenses or pick up a blitz to save his life, 😂
Yo know nothing about football
327 yards for the punter that Caleb Williams texted and said “you aren’t gonna be punting much this year” LMAO😂😂😂
Geno Smith has thrown for over 300 yards 5 times this season. Is that remarkable?
He's athletic and has his moments but he also throws some awful INTs. While I think he's better than Colin gives him credit for he's probably not good enough to be a foundational QB.
All of Geno’s yards don’t mean shit when it doesn’t equal touchdowns.
When I saw Caleb look to his left to dump it off on an open DJ Moore and then completely disregard it to throw to the RB with the defense sitting on their back at the line of scrimmage, I realized, this dude doesn't know what he's doing.
Literally know what play youre talking about. That game was awful. Im a chiefs fan, and joked with my bears friend, "
damn this is what y'all have to watch, thats tough", Yikes lol. Dudes not that good tbh.
I wish I had someone in my life that would defend me as hard as Uncle Colin is fighting to defend Caleb.
Didn’t Colin say he was a talent that could overcome a bad situation ?
Bears fan here. Never wanted us to draft Caleb. Would’ve much rather kept fields and drafted an offensive line
Fields who?
Justin Fields.
@@GoCubs2016 Actually, Fields is faster and sees better (but both so slow on their reads)
@@alfredramirez6402agreed, I guess I would’ve rather drafted Oline vs spending our 2 first picks on a mediocre qb and wr
So no problems with Caleb???
Talent is important. Brains are more important.
Dude said Geno Smith is just a ham and egger ?.. 😂😂😂
What a great analogy.
Never heard that expression before and have no idea what that means
Props to Colin for somehow coming up with a "reaction" show on this crappy game lol
True
It’s okay to struggle as a Rookie QB, but he’s not showing any flashes of talent. When the game is early or tight he doesn’t play well. Stats are misleading because he doesn’t throw into tight windows and starts making plays when the game is out of reach and the coverage loosens up. A top defense with above average weapons is not a normal situation for a team drafting #1. Caleb has to shoulder a large percentage of his own issues.
This is exactly right. Talent is easy to spot quickly. Caleb is inaccurate, much less dynamic than advertised, and holds the ball forever
Dan Campbell would like a word
@@robertbrown380Dan Campbell is not calling the offensive plays, his offensive coordinator is calling the plays. Soooo…..what does Dan Campbell have to say? Nothing he’s a defensive coach as he played defensive in the NFL. Hes not the reason the offense is good as it is
I thought Dan Campbell was a tight end?
@ you are right I thought he was a DE but he was a blocking TE with less than a 1,000yds receiving he whole career. Well my first statement I stand by besides him being a defensive player🤣, what a dumbass 🤣
@tomjones42083 how did you not know he was a tight end 😅
I’m so glad the bears picked Caleb. Now we have Jayden and will be Super Bowl contenders for the next 10-15 years
The fact that Caleb Williams is struggling should not be a shock to anyone. Bears haven't had a good QB since Sid Luckman.
Lol 😂
RIP Bob Avellini
Jim McMahon was good
Smoky jay had a few good season in him
Chicago is where Quarterback careers go to die. Change my mind. A decades long tradition.
More punts than points is wild
This game was if I may say NOT fantastic!
Lol
😂😂
Lmao. On his official YOO-TOOB channel no less
This is gaslighting at its finest. To sit there and not give Caleb any blame for his obvious shortcomings and awful play like we all didn’t watch the same exact game 😂 okay Collin 🤡
Colin was WRONG on Caleb? IMPOSSIBLE! Cowherd is NEVER wrong! At least he never ADMITS he is. Genius, just ask him.
In fact he always said Bears OL is pretty decent whenever he trashed Fields
Caleb does have all the talent in them world, the biggest question is does he have the mental toughness to be a pro. There is a large body of evidence going back to college saying maybe not.
That USC game at Notre Dame told me that Caleb is closer to Zach Wilson than Patrick Mahomes. Wouldn’t live up to the hype he was given
If you paint your nails, I'm gonna doubt your mental toughness.
Not just toughness, does he have the basic acuity? Taking 40 seconds a snap after the 2 min warning?
It's funny this is the take but beginning of the season the entire media said no number 1 team going to a better situation
It's been so bad last few decades
They should eliminate the three point shot, and start calling steps again
I don’t like seeing guys fail, but it does bring a little smile to my face that when the bengals had a joint practice with the bears this season and I had to hear bears fans tell me how much better Caleb Williams is than Joe Burrow.
Poles failed. He is the number one issue.
Waldron didn’t rehab Geno. Canales is the one resurrected his career, and then he did the same with baker last season.
And his work with Bryce is starting to show through.
I don’t understand why nobody is talking about Lincoln Riley going to the Bears
At the 1:30 mark, did Colin compare Caleb to Patrick Mahommes????!
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Brock Purdy has played better than Caleb Williams
Praying the McCaskey’s sell the team
Collin loves Caleb because he's from USC and looked good against kids that over half aren't going to the NFL and is running around for 10-15 seconds. Thats not gonna cut it in the NFL everyone is good.
Caleb had not thrown an interception because he prefers to hold on to the ball and get sacked.
Thank you…that int streak needs an asterisk with all those sacks. Dude’s afraid to throw it to all those WRs that Colin was excited about
And because he was scared to throw past the line of scrimmage.
Like, how the hell is the defense supposed to intercept passes that never go downfield
How does holding onto the ball correlate with interceptions.
plus he misses throws so bad even the defensive backs can't reach the ball.
Colin if the Bears want a true culture change then bring in Pete Carroll. Period. End of story. Drop the mic. Have him bring in a protege. Give him three years to achieve greatness while grooming a successor. Then turn it over and retire at 75. Boom!
Who would have ever thunk Caleb Williams would be a bigger bust than JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf?
The NIL deal gave it away for me...especially when dealing with USC
Didn't even know there was football on tonight, basically the garbage bowl😂😂
Absolutely no mention of Seattle having pure Swiss cheese for an O-Line for 3 straight seasons lmao yup it’s all Geno’s fault… good lord Colin.
I thought fields was the problem?
Yea he was
@travisoshea won more games with fields
@@travisoshea it’s looking farther and farther from the truth sir the bears are making him look like a rockstar after this season
@ hahaha wow
@ he’s going to be great. I mean didn’t he just break a bunch of bear QB rookie records.
WOW.... After all the blame Justin Fields got... After all the additions made to the team....
The media will do anything other than give an honest assessment of Caleb Williams. It’s ok to say he’s not that good right now.
Will he be good in the future? That’s a conversation for another day.
Caleb throws for 300 yards bc they have to throw every down since they play every single game trailing superior teams
The Super Bowl generational QB according to Colin is holding the ball way too long trying to read the field. His O line can’t hold off the rush for 6 seconds every play. 6:00
Thursday night football SUUUUUUCCKKKKSSSS !!!!@!!!
Fr it’s unwatchable
"nobody could have succeeded with this team this season" its wild how nobody said this during hard knocks
Caleb sucks. Everyone admits it but the media. They glaze him like they owe him money. He is the king of garbage time stats.
He had tons of weapons and no one else gets to use o line as an excuse. He had two time outs and needed-5 yards and couldn’t get it.
his stats aren't even that great, he's like 30th in QBR, 20th in passer rating, 20th in yards per game, most sacks, most poor passes,
And nearly 2 minutes and 4 downs and the STs unit didn't even get on the field again!
what do you mean Geno Smith cant play? you had the Seahawks as one of your dark horse teams to win a division this year. you also said years ago that Matt Stafford would never win a superbowl. stop using Geno to make Caleb look better.
Fields way more serviceable than Caleb....and could turnout like Sam D.
Colin continues to promote Caleb Williams. I don't see it. I see a B rookie quarterback struggling against the tide on a perennially dysfunctional franchise.
I'm with you. Sick of Colin promoting Caleb. Cannot read defenses! Let's just say it; he's not very smart.
@@samc231That's right. Can't handle the blitz either.
People will say Kirk Cousins is awful while saying Caleb Williams is good. Not serious people
Calebs Attitude makes it hard to watch the games. What a Debbie downer.
He takes to long to throw the ball if I was a bears fan he’d drive me crazy 🤪 🏈 💯💪🏽
So play calling has nothing to do with the game right? Have you watched the all 22 on bears games?
Not watching boring NFL games is king.
Yo what did collin just call geno @ the 2:00 mark??? Collin just bored seeing how far he can go before getting canceled 😂😂😂
Haman*gger?? Im so confused
Ham and egger = just a guy, average, nothing special, etc.
Ham and egger is a journeyman .
Colin in September: This is the perfect situation for Caleb to be successful.
Colin in December: No one could have succeeded here.
Wha a terrible game
I warned everyone about Caleb and going to the Bears. He's a primadonna. Paints his nails for God's sake.
You don’t deserve any pay for talking about this
Colin praised all the moves the Bears made at the beginning of the season. Especially when they picked Odunze.
The Bears remind me of the Jets but with a better QB,
Better?..Sure
Why doesn’t Dan Quinn get shouted out more for what he has done in Washington?
Caleb is a bust . I hate to say it, i wanted it to work, but he just doesn't have it
When you have zero clue what you are talking about
After one season behind a terrible o line??
Seems caleb assumed he could run around like mahomes in his first year and make magical plays. Mahomes is 1 of 1
He needs some coaching.
You probably also said CJ Stroud was the best QB in the NFL last year. 🥴
“Ryan Poles,… I don’t think he’s done a terrible job.”🤣 WTF?! Geese these guys get paid to talk not to make sense.🤦🏽♂️
“Nobody could have succeeded here” weren’t we told for months this was the best situation for a rookie qb
