It is so great to have someone who knows what they are talking about, do a tutorial without trying to be a comedian, and breaking things down so they are understandable. This is one of the best tutorials I have seen. You do a great job Max. Thanks for the education.
1. Open the group null 2. Resize skull. 3. Drag Skull layer to be a child of "track solid" object. 4. Right click and choose, "default values" from position tab of the "skull" object. If you want identical rotation values, right click and choose 'default values' of the 'rotation' values of the skull. No need to manually try to match location of the track solid. 5. Drag skull out if you want after this.
More Cinema 4D tutorials PLEASE!!! Anything with Element, creating 3D models, all that jazz I really want to learn. Ive been adding some 3D stuff into my videos thanks to your tutorials. Thank you so much! 🙏
This video is perfect for learning how to add 3d to video footage with cinema 4d. Thanks, Max! Other videos for this are over an hour long. Can't you add the C4D file to AE as a new layer instead of rendering several TIF files?
I don't know anything about AE and Cinema 4D but I want to get into 3D Modelling and Effects anytime soon. Is there a really big gap between those programs? I know that AE is more into video effects and Cinema4D more into 3D modelling but can AE do the same things as C4D? Do I need both programs to work as a professional? Right now I only use Vegas Pro 15 and don't even own Plug Ins like Sapphire (that's a little bit to expensive haha). I want to learn professional video editing by myself (maybe get some tips in an internship) but I don't want to do a vocational training.
I'd say they're pretty different animals. After Effects has 3D capacity, but that's not what it's designed for. To really boil it down, Premiere Pro is for editing a basic video. After Effects is for putting cool layers on top of that video. Cinema 4D is for 3D animation.
Hey bro could you make a breakdown tutorial on Smokepurpp's music video to his song Tic Tac? it has some very unique and fire VHS effects that i'd like to know how to make?
Thx for the tutorial man, but I'm super confused, at 0400, when you drag and drop the .obj file in, it loads into the project with the tracking, but when I do the same, it loads in and replaced the tracking .... how can I fix it please?
to me maxon cinema 4d exporter doesn't work. it tells me (Aegp plugin maxon c4d export ... 2d layers found, these will not be exported) can you help me please !. i use the after effect cc 2018 and C4d R19
that is fine its just telling you that only the 3d layers will be exported , all you want is the camera and the tracked solid. You can copy and paste them into a new comp and export that to c4d if you dont want to see that message.
bro you got amazing skills i love how you explane but please can you hide your body or at leas make it smaller cus we cant see lot of important things thank you
Why does mine always bug out? I always get a very good track (under 0.6 pixel average error) but as soon as I import to after effects, the whole scene just slides around completely irrelevant to my footage. I have tried everything, this weird issue is really making work on my short film close to impossible. I am adding this for anyone else who is having this issue. It turns out it was caused by a frame rate misalignment. Go into after effects and find the start and end frames, and make sure your camera animation keyframes inside cinema 4d line up exactly.
I have strange problem. When I export project to C4D then open it, there is no movement, in AE I can see my camera is tracked properly, but it Cinema it only shows me first frame thru whole timeline. It was working for my couple days before, so I just think I messed something up in preview (my 3d tracked camera is selected so no problem there) could you help m?
Ben Eddings probably not as blender isn’t integrated with after effects as well as cinema 4d is, thankfully that likely wouldn’t be an issue as blender has a fairly competent camera tracker built right in! 😎
can someone help me with how the aep file is actually linked to the c4d file? i export the file as c4d, add the pbj file (mind i did not save an aep file) - so how to i get it back to aep with obj if i only have a c4d file 😃sorrrry, very new to this
Had the same problem. What i did was i opened the obj file in c4d and saved a new project just with the obj. Opened the camera track and merged the projects, the camera track in .c4d and the obj in .c4d.
Hate to be a downer but his Cinema4D technique for adding 3D objects into real footage isn’t very good. There is a better way, you can set the background in C4D to be the actual video, so you can see how the object will look like directly from C4D rather than after manually reloading it each time in After Effect

What's your PC Configuration?
You seen my lone wolf Animation right? you think you kan show em how to integrate element 3d and c4d. in part 2?
Is it possible to make the skull stands behind his shoulder so the shoulder masks the small part of the skull? 10:00
There's no option to save it for me in the render settings.
How do I add shadows through this method. I can't seem to do it?

Thanks for the tutorial but i cant see the null in cinema4d like you do any reason for this to happen?
@@johnpublic1341 Thank You!!!
How come when I drag and drop an obj file it into my scene it opens it as a new project?
Cause it will open as a new project by default. Go to File tab and choos Merge to add an object to the exesting project

Why not use element 3d for this ?
Cinema 4d takes forever to render...
Would this workflow work similarly with blender?
Ben Eddings probably not as blender isn’t integrated with after effects as well as cinema 4d is, thankfully that likely wouldn’t be an issue as blender has a fairly competent camera tracker built right in! 😎
