Well it seems like the format revolves around life gain vs spend so if someone makes enough land drops slams it and hits you the next turn and you haven't gained any life or drawn any removal your luck is just bad.
Since the deck is shared and the decklist is known to players, I generally don’t like the tutors because when you cast it, you could theoretically know every card in your opponents hand… I removed the mystical tutor from my version of dandan to prevent this from happening
The reason why soo many formats come out of MTG is because the game base design is very well thought out with depth based on a resource system.... Lacking all of the above leads to YGO
This isn't so much a new format as it is another deck in the shared-library format. I've been advocating for calling this format as a whole Tower, but I'm not getting a lot of takers.
Id love to see gameplay. It does not sound particularly interesting. Like normal magic but you start at a lower life total. What made dandan so special was the intense topdeck manipulation. In chefchef the fact that the deck is shared seems to not really be a gameplay feature but rather for convenience
Honestly this sounds kinda stupid. I play magic because there is endless possibilities i can do with cards and that my opponent cand do as well. You can play this format with a regular deck of poker cards. This game has basically been invented a million different ways with poker cards as well.
This is just part of the infinite possibility that magic holds. That you have a deck you can pull out and play a completely different sort of magic is great and does not take away from other ways of playing. No one is saying play this and nothing else.
It’s a format based on the Dan Dan format, which was popular enough to spike the price for the namesake card, Dan Dan. It’s not even multiplayer, it’s a 1v1 format. The fact you dismiss it so easily and so incorrectly could genuinely be considered a talent.
@@Mrpokemon718 you realize theres a million games like this that you can play with poker cards right.... Used to play games like this in afghan over 10 years ago. Yall are just desperate. Its kinda sad honestly.
"Everything is DanDan" is the new "Everything is Kicker".
Maybe 20 years from now we will see Chef Chef format cards being released. In any case, I’m a big fan of this concept so far!
Chef Chef Horizons 6 will be lit
In 20 years Mtg will be about 19 years dead lol
@@stigmurder99I doubt it. For every whine about where they're doing, there's a line of people giving out their money.
I love the idea of formats where you win by doing something flavorful besides winning normally, this is a really cool concept!
Flavorful huh
I love the idea of themed 80 card shared decks...
I love when I get in early enough that I can purchase the deck list before it becomes no longer budget for the next few weeks lol
The year is 2028. Wizards will print cards straight into their most successful format Chef Chef in the upcoming mega set Chef Chef Horizons!
Always get custom printed proxies for custom, non-competitive formats. There's literally no reason to buy official cards for Dan Dan or Chef Chef
Am I missing something? It feels like whoever draws and plays Old Fritterfang first will almost instantly win unless the opponent has removal.

This looks like a fun fan made game format to play with friends around the kitchen table…definitely adds some depth to the term “kitchen table magic”!
"Well don't just stand there, you doughnut, bloody stab him then get the lamb sauce!"

Or, with just some of these lacking, heartstone
Another format cool you should also look at Pilot format involves vehicles and it really fun
This looks super fun. It’s an oddly fitting magic game for Halloween as well.
The true dockside
I'd like to rename this to "Too Many Cooks" or "Ramsey's Magic Nightmare"
How many copies of each card?

"Wizard's Tower" is kind of a known format. Shared deck, and usually they do no lands but then any card gets played face down as a multi land
Maybe throw in Fangren Marauder
Do you share the same graveyard? Think there is a fair bit more gameplay if so
Yeah, 1 library and 1 graveyard for both players just like in Dan Dan
@@silbernerritter5834 sweet. I think some tasty graveyard stuff might be pretty good to look at. Can't wait to give this cube a try
The trauma responses from Commander keep being hilarious.
huh?

Not a fan of tutors in shared deck formats.
You can discern the cards in your opponent's hand
Like for so many things in my life I’m here an hour late.
yum
FIRST 28 MINUTES!!!
So i have to make a new Deck for this Format? Nope will not happen.
yo
FIRST 7 MINUTES
Nah
FIRST 5 seconds

How is this anything like commander? Do you know how to play commander?
@@rossdemarco922 I honestly didn't even watch the video. Everything these days is Commander related so I just presumed.
