How to make a Khan Academy style educational video

- In this video I demonstrate how to make a Khan Academy style video using Quicktime and Sketchbook. Both programs are free. This is a beginner tutorial for teachers to help with adding video to google classroom.
Hi Everyone, another company bought the rights to Sketchbook so it is no longer free. I would recommend Krita as an alternative. Also, if you are using Windows try using Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to capture your screen.

Screenshot app on my MacBook Pro 2020 is able to record entire screen in 2880x1800 resolution, but crashes when I record selected portion in 1280x720 resolution... It must be a bug in Screenshot app, since Screenflow app has no problem recording a part of the screen

@mr.H I have a question, what program are you using to DEMONSTRATE and record everything? I like how you can zoom in for a close up on the tools, I like how it does everything. I saw that you use quicktime for recording your screen but I cannot tell if you have another program or what program/tool allows you to zoom in and get a closer look at different areas of your screen...does that make sense? In order to write on a PC, you need a Pen tablet and software like Paint or Sketchbook

You can try OBS for screen recording on a PC.

I've used both Huion and Wacom. I usually get one the costs between $50 and $100.

Thats fine, its just not one of the standard sizes that youtube uses. The aspect ratio is still 16x9 so there won't be any cropping or black bars. You are good to go!

Yes! There is a iOS version of Sketchbook and there is also a screen recording option on the iPad.

How to make using iPad?
Go to your settings. Press control center. Add screen recording. Now you can record your screen. Sketchbook also works on iPad.

No, I use a wacom tablet: CTL-4100. Its much easier to use than a mouse.

Sir is it a mouse you use for the writing or do you have a light pen because it's just so clean and detail, a mouse can't certainly sketch that good
