The cowries were phenomenal today!!! And the limpets were beyond gorgeous! 😍😍😍 My favorite was the drupe. Just such an unusual shell. The cone shells were really cool too! Be careful with those waves. 🌊 Looked like you were getting pretty deep! 😳😳😳 Wonderful shelling day! Thank you Maddie!!! 🥰🥰🥰
G’day Pam 👋🏻 I certainly found some large ones out there today! The little Clandestine and Donkey were so lovely though ❤️ Oooh, you know, that Drupe was almost my favourite too! I loved the black on the long spines, it just looked a bit cooler than the other Drupes I’ve found 🤩 Haha, the water was starting to get a little high when I left; I like to get there a few hours before the lowest of low tide, but this time I came right only about 20 minutes before. It was an early start to the morning, so it ended up being like this 🤔 it was worth it to get that last big bonnet though! Thank you so much for joining me on the adventure 🥰👋🏻
G'day Lady Sylvia 👋🏻💖 Hehe, they can be incredibly colourful 🤩 the smaller ones are generally the nicest; they are less likely to go white when they dry 🤔 but the bigger ones can look nice with a bit of oil on them too. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G’day Cathy 👋🏻 I’m glad you liked the shells today 🐚❤️ I really should pick up more limpets more often; the small coloured ones are so lovely. Thank you so much for coming along with me today 🥰
G’day Heart ❤️ I’m glad you enjoyed the cowries as much as I did 🤗 truthfully, I haven’t been finding many (that I’ve found) since the storm, but I’ve been finding spectacular moon snails instead 🐌! Thank you for coming along with me 🥰 and thank you a second time; putting the names on screen takes a little extra time while editing, so it warms my heart to feel appreciated for it 🥰🐚 I’m thrilled you enjoyed the adventure 👋🏻
G’day Guadalupe 👋🏻 Thank you so much, those snake-head cowries were so plentiful and lovely this time; I might go weeks without finding ones as nice as that! Thank you so much for coming along with me again 🥰
G’day Kayle 👋🏻🤗 now that I think about it, only the really big Deer Cowries I find have that bright orange under them, the smaller and medium ones get worn away to a light brown colour 🤔 I wonder if I should try to polish this orange Deer Cowrie with sandpaper too, until it gleams 🤩🤣 Thank you so much for coming along with me, Kayle 🤗 I had a lovely day indeed 🥰
The limpets were beautiful. The cowries are beautiful. The rose bubble shell was awsome, seeing it moving is always just amazing. It reminds me of the ones moving without a shell. It is always so hard to pick a favorite one when they are all so unique and beautiful. Thank yuh ou Maddie. It was just a great day. I have never seen you with so many limpets. Thank you and have a great day.
G’day Toni 👋🏻🥰 I really should give some more attention to the little limpets that wash ashore; those two I mentioned specifically were quite nice ☺️ I put a 5 minute video on my Facebook page with out-takes from this video, I think there are 2 or 3 more little limpets in there too, near the end. I’m so glad you liked the little snail 🐌 as much as I did ❤️ this snail can’t fit into his shell, it makes me wonder why he even still has it 🤔🤣 Thank you so much for joining me again 🥰 I hope your days are getting better and better too ❤️🩹
I will check out your Facebook page it has been over a couple of weeks since I have been on there. I really do enjoy your videos. I watch beach bumming dad and swf plum beach I think is the name of the second one.
I put a few pictures on FB lately, and that video of cleaning up the Arabian I found in this video! Just a short fun one, I hope you like it too 🤩. Oh, I've heard of Beach Bumming Dad and Plum Island Cabin... Something like that anyway 🤣 SWF Beach Life is probably my favourite though!
G’day Florida Fam 👋🏻🤗 Thank you so much for watching 🥰 It was a lovely morning, I was quite happy to go shelling before all the rain set in this week 😅 the limpets were especially lovely, right!? Do you find many limpets when you go shelling?
What a great day for shelling! I agree with the comment about watching for those waves. Speaking from experience don’t turn your back to them because they love to wipe you out. LOL Loved all the shells today but my favorite was the cat cowry. I love the zebra shell, I thought you were saying ‘debra’ for the longest time. Yes, you put it on the screen and I still missed it. Hope you have a great rest of the week. I look forward to your next shelling episode.
G'day Penny 👋🏻 it was a fantastic day! Even if the Arabians are a bit old, the super calicified one still polished up pretty good 😊👍🏻 I'm always watching for the waves, don't worry 🌊 actually, the coast has been issued with a hazardous wind and surf warning for the last few days, along with storms and rain, so I'll have to be extra careful 😅 the next video might be a bit soggy! Hahaha the "Debra" Volute made me laugh; it's funny how we pronounce some words so differently! Thanks for coming along with me Penny, I hope you have a fantastic rest of your week too 🥰
Hi Maddie, A great video. I love seeing the live animals awesome. I love all the limpets and really all of the shells and the cat cowry because I love cats and have had a lot of them in my life. I will email later more to say. XXOO AND HUGS TRUDY
G’day Trudy 👋🏻🥰 I’m glad you enjoyed the live bubble snail 🐌 he always seems to get a lot of love when he makes an appearance ❤️🐌 he’s just too beautiful! Oooh I’m pleased you liked the limpets too, a few of them were quite spectacular 🤩 I will be sure to reply to you more soon. Thank you so much for watching, Trudy 🥰
G'day Gary 👋🏻🏖️ My goodness, thank you so much for the compliment ☺️ it's sure takes time and effort to add the names in, but I hope it makes the videos better for it 🐚 Thanks for watching 🥰
@SandCoffeeRocks oh yes, i have not found another sheller who provides Latin and common shell names, this is very helpful as it gives more detail. Your effort has made each video a very professional production and great camera quality as well. 👍
Good day Maddie, another awesome shelling day. My favorite was the live bubble snail. They are just gorgeous! Then those two gorgeous limpets at the end. That donkey is definitely beautiful. Maddie what's the difference between a checkered bonnet and and I think you called it a banded bonnet. Just curious, they look so much alike. Thank you again for sharing. I really enjoyed our shelling trip today. Have a wonderful week
G’day Roberta 👋🏻🥰 I was so happy to see the little bubble snail too, he’s such a lovely little creature 🐌 I’m so glad you liked all the shells, and those two limpets were especially lovely ❤️ Oh that’s a good question! The Checkered and Banded Bonnets have pretty much a same/similar in shape and colours, but the different is their pattern. While both have square patterns, the Checkered Bonnet is more like floating yellow/brown squares on a white shell. A Banded Bonnet has square yellow/brown patterns that slightly cross each other more like tartan or plaid, and on a more cream coloured shell. I don’t know if this explanation help just by reading it… later today, I would like to put the two bonnets side-by-side for a picture, then add it to my Facebook to have the differences shown better, or maybe point it out in the next video where I find both types of shell 🤔 not everyone will know the differences just because I say a name… considering when I started, I also didn’t know how to tell them apart either 🤣 This was a wonderful question, thank you Roberta! It will give me the chance to make my videos next time more information 🥳 Thank you so much for joining me again today 🥰
Oh my gosh, it could be indeed! Google images is having a hard time showing me the shell as it doesn’t seem to widespread on the internet, but a NSW shell website is quite informative. The one I found it certainly worn away, but the shape looks right for a Tudivasum rasilistoma. A Spineless Whelk, huh! Thank you so much, Adrian 🐚❤️ you’ve once again helped me out a tonne, I had no idea what this one was at all!

Gorgeous cowries...appreciate when you print the names of each shell on the screen. Thanks for taking us with you.😊

Shell at 6.33 minute mark looks like Tudivasum rasilistoma
