Why are wildfires getting worse? - video explainer www.theguardian.com/world/video/2021/aug/20/the-climate-science-behind-wildfires-why-are-they-getting-worse-video-explainer
Floods and earthquakes are much more frequent all over the world, my friend, he is right. How many floods drown provinces and cities around the world each year, and how many earthquakes hit places all over the world each year. Volcanoes are easily avoided and an explosion doesn't often occur, but floods and earthquakes hit many many many times each year. He is right.
The climate crisis has become worse recently due to people. But we just know that climate change is happening and we let climate change continue to happen. Global warming is worsening, creating a climate crisis, and I think we need to take this seriously.
The recent floods in Germany and Belgium were not caused by climate change, but by the design of the rivers, since the water has no place to go in times of high water levels. The solution is not stopping climate change (which we probably won't we able to anyway), but to give the rivers more room. The floodings that are caused by heavy rainfall are also not caused by climate change, but by poor design (and maintenance) of our sewers and by too much concrete and asphalt in the city's. Costal flooding might be partially caused by climate change, but the sea levels have been rising steadily voor about 200 years now, so that's nothing new. Fortunately the sea level rises very slowly, so we have enough time to adapt.
When was the last major change that could have caused this sudden increase in flooding? No doubt construction is a factor but that is IN ADDITION TO significantly higher rainfall. Blaming construction does not make climate change insignificant. There is increased flooding on plains where there is no construction. There just isn't the population to draw attention.
@@lrvogt1257 What sudden increase in flooding? In the region of Germany/Belgium /The Netherlands, rainfall has steadily increased by about 10% in 100 years, so that's an increase of about 0,1% annually. Do you really call that significant? What evidence do you have for your assumption that rainfall will decrease if we lower our co2-emmisions? In short: don't you think adaptation would be a lot more efficient than mitigation?

As fan of Moore's earlier work, I have to say that was a truly dreadful film and a gross misrepresentation of the renewables industry. Outdated technology and half-truths portrayed a completely false picture of the situation at the time.
Floods are getting worse? Li Bing built the Dujiangyan River Control System for irrigation and flood control around 256BC. There were no gasoline cars back then.
Humans have been bulding on flood plains since the advent of farming. Floodplains have the most fertile soil. Yes, we should stop building on floodplains, but that's the reason for the incresing floods.
A new climate model shows that much of southern California will be underwater in the future as a result of uninhibited climate change. These stark images have had a profound effect on public opinion, causing a huge spike in support for climate change.
@@crown9413 Still, in middle America, there is a newfound vigor for helping climate change, with everyone trying to do their part. And if someone doesn’t have the time or ability to add to climate change, they can now buy carbon credits - money that goes toward people cutting down trees to help add more carbon to the air.
Like Obama did? He bought a multimillion dollar sea-side mansion in Martha's Vinyard. He must not be too concerned about drastically rising sea levels.
We are controlling the climate...Just not in a purposeful or conscious way. We need to allow it to go back to a natural state. We've increased CO2 by half in a very short time and CO2 keeps infrared from escaping to space. The more we produce the hotter it gets. That's just physics.

It's too late to do anything, nature ... WILL ... run her course, nevermind what humans think and or THINK WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.
Doing nothing will only make everything get much worse much faster. We need all the time we can get to try to mitigate the damage.
