I completely agreed with you. I feel like they totally killed it in this debut. And it's really an appropriate concept fir their age. They did it all and they showed their talents from their very start of career which I'm so proud of. Most people, reactors were not all satisfied because they have this high and impossible expectation like literally theyre kids and this is just their debut yet they expect them to be like BLACKPINK already just because theyre under the company. You are watching some whack reactors then... literally every reactor I've seen, and it's a lot, like at least 10-15 a day since release, has liked it for what it was, even if they may not have liked every single aspect of it, like the chorus for instance. And most were down right vibing with the song.

I love that you just vibed with the Girls! There is to much hate about this Debut, i love that there are people actually appriciating! YG was going the easy road because he knew it will would work. Was it predictable? YES.. was it Boring? NO! The Girls had fun, the choreo is great, i love the little easter eggs such as the numbers, their writings on the lockers etc. the Raps were Great, Asa got to cowrite the song!
Baby Monster has great vocals, great rap, and dance skills. As unexpected as it was, love this debut music video. It definitely shows their growth, highlights their skills, personality and synergy too. I think it's just YG that should invest more in creative directors and producers that will provide new innovation in songs and direction that doesn't come across as having similarities with other artists or such an overly strong YG identity.
I think the issue is that if you look at all YG artists they dont stick with one song type so its kinda hard. Like BB was all over the place same as 2ne1 and BP and iKon and Treasure too.

It was Asa (the second rapper) who got credit for some lyrics and composition. What I didnt like about that Final Evaluation series was that they diverted a lot of lot off attention away from Rami (Haram) Pharita and Asa can both sing and rap. If you watched the Intros all 3 did both. They pushed Ahyeon as ONLY all-rounder till the last song performance where Asa did her final performance.

Their "dance performance" comes out on the 4th, in two days. Edit: Asa wrote her own rap. No other member was credited with writing. If you watch their dance formations, there always seems to be a empty spot, like it's for Ahyeon.

Last Evaluation was shown to us Jan -April 2023 but was filmed mid-June through Mid September 2022 so what we saw of them in the spring was at least 14 months ago. That growth was not over 6 months it was over a year.
U can see in the mv making film that ruka is the main dancer, very attentive to details and led the dance performance.she's a pro on cam her facial expression is always on point.she did her rap part in just one shot and she looks so gorgeous.

I’m going to play devils advocate (in a way). I see a bright future for BM. BUTTTTT I kinda hate how they didn’t really give the group an identity for their debut. I feel like they gave too many BP vibes. And I know people will say “but it’s so YG”. I get that. But look at SM: every group has their own identity while still doing the “SM thing”. We all know what that means. I do agree that their growth since the pre-debut show is there. I can’t wait to see what they do in the future and I hope it’s soon and Ahyeon is back.
I really like this song, because it is "so YG". We got promised that BM would have the "YG DNA" and this delivered exactly that. For me it still managed to highlight their vocals, rapping and their individuality. But I get what you mean and can see the "devils advocate" perspective as well. Its dangerous to stay so close to Blackpink and the "YG formula". They also need their own identity beyond "YG" and "Mini Blackpink". I think, a B-Side (or second debut M/V) to showcase a different side, would've helped a lot. Now the pressure is on their first comeback.
I think most Yg groups debut with a Yg sounding song and further into their careers get more of their own identities. You could literally find similarities in all of their debut tracks, but now you can differentiate their styles.

@@makeitright3810 agreed. As somebody that grew up with 2nd Gen, i also remember how Blackpink started, but they at least had Whistle and promoted on music shows and variety tv at the beginning. I'm not really worried. I just can understand that some people are a bit disappointed how YG handles the BM debut, how safe they play it and how little we get. It really feels rushed or surprisingly disorganized (especially after the great pre debut marketing).
lemme just share that my bias is Chiquita BUT I couldn't recognize her face. And while watching the MV, the brown haired girl facial expressions really got me, just look at 3:22, so I asked for her name while giving the time stamps in the comment section of their MV, and gosh they said that was Chiquita. Sheesh she looks different. Anyways, she really stands out with her facial expressions even without me knowing that's her.
I just realized that some concepts of the individual parts use the same concepts that BP has used in their MVs. Maybe bcause they're under the same agency

I have been following all evaluations from day 1 and I was looking forward to their debut. I think all the girls are super talented in both singing and dancing and I think this song is a good debut. However, for me the stark white background in the beginning and the massive amount of complicated background changes which detracts from the group itself. I also thought the choreo could have been much cleaner, the girls can dance lets face it. There is nothing wrong with the girls at all but I hope in their comeback the company will do better by them. I also hope we see a rehearsal video. Also, I wish people would stop comparing them to Blackpink. They are Baby Monster and will make their name as Baby Monster.

No one in YG will continue BP's legacy. BM is already flopping on kcharts. Blackpink was able to rise to the top bcos the songs they put out when they debuted in 2016-17 were something new. Now it's all the same and that includes BM. Maybe this formula of music works with BP now as established artists but to compete with 4th/5th gen you need something new. BM will fail and YG will go bankrupt once BP members leave the company, which is most likely what will happen.

But I guess YG will never ever change it. That's their trademark. It is not the trending music now but for me i like to see Babymonster bringing balance to kpop music in this new generation. Bigbang's music back in the day was considered new for kpop, same with 2ne1 and PSY's music, which btw is totally different from BB and 2ne1. Gdragon's music was different as well. DDDD by BLackpink was new and fresh back in 2018, now it has become old bcos they kept repeating the same structure every comeback. The whole badass, hip-hop thing isnt cutting it anymore bcos that genre of music isnt exclusive to YG anymore, other groups have tried it and sometimes with better execution. The real problem is that YG has become lazy and refuses to evolve !!!!!! I wish people would stop giving excuses like "being true to their style or brand". It's not a brand anymore. I think the reason why they released it in nov instead of sept is because of ahyeons health issue and they had to use this music as a backup. Ig they wanted to wait until ahyeon is back to health but then it will take too long. thus they had to release the rest for the girls first as to dampen fans rage. We have the same thoughts actually. If Ahyeon participated in their debut, for sure they will put a moment where she will sing a high note. Nonetheless, this is still a good debut.
The song is good..but I just wish YG gave them their own individual sound instead of making it sound just like a typical Blackpink song. This sound doesn't stand out to me, even though there vocals were good. I thought it was going to a be different sound more like r&b etc, I guess not. Hopefully the next song will differentiate themselves from BP more 😊

The reason I heard that they are postponing their music shows is due to they are waiting to AhYeon to rejoin. YG doesn't want to start promoting BabyMonster without the OT7.

I’m going to play devils advocate (in a way). I see a bright future for BM. BUTTTTT I kinda hate how they didn’t really give the group an identity for their debut. I feel like they gave too many BP vibes. And I know people will say “but it’s so YG”. I get that. But look at SM: every group has their own identity while still doing the “SM thing”. We all know what that means.
I do agree that their growth since the pre-debut show is there. I can’t wait to see what they do in the future and I hope it’s soon and Ahyeon is back.
I really like this song, because it is "so YG". We got promised that BM would have the "YG DNA" and this delivered exactly that. For me it still managed to highlight their vocals, rapping and their individuality. But I get what you mean and can see the "devils advocate" perspective as well. Its dangerous to stay so close to Blackpink and the "YG formula". They also need their own identity beyond "YG" and "Mini Blackpink". I think, a B-Side (or second debut M/V) to showcase a different side, would've helped a lot. Now the pressure is on their first comeback.

I think most Yg groups debut with a Yg sounding song and further into their careers get more of their own identities. You could literally find similarities in all of their debut tracks, but now you can differentiate their styles.

@@makeitright3810 agreed. As somebody that grew up with 2nd Gen, i also remember how Blackpink started, but they at least had Whistle and promoted on music shows and variety tv at the beginning. I'm not really worried. I just can understand that some people are a bit disappointed how YG handles the BM debut, how safe they play it and how little we get. It really feels rushed or surprisingly disorganized (especially after the great pre debut marketing).

lemme just share that my bias is Chiquita BUT I couldn't recognize her face. And while watching the MV, the brown haired girl facial expressions really got me, just look at 3:22, so I asked for her name while giving the time stamps in the comment section of their MV, and gosh they said that was Chiquita. Sheesh she looks different. Anyways, she really stands out with her facial expressions even without me knowing that's her.
I just realized that some concepts of the individual parts use the same concepts that BP has used in their MVs. Maybe bcause they're under the same agency

Baby monster gonna release dance performance on Dec 4 0kst
I have been following all evaluations from day 1 and I was looking forward to their debut. I think all the girls are super talented in both singing and dancing and I think this song is a good debut. However, for me the stark white background in the beginning and the massive amount of complicated background changes which detracts from the group itself. I also thought the choreo could have been much cleaner, the girls can dance lets face it. There is nothing wrong with the girls at all but I hope in their comeback the company will do better by them. I also hope we see a rehearsal video. Also, I wish people would stop comparing them to Blackpink. They are Baby Monster and will make their name as Baby Monster.

Haters gonna hate but baemon will continue YG/Bp legacy. Only few and 4th/5th gen can sing and rap like that. And Only baemon can slay this kind of song in 4th/5th gen. No one in YG will continue BP's legacy. BM is already flopping on kcharts. Blackpink was able to rise to the top bcos the songs they put out when they debuted in 2016-17 were something new. Now it's all the same and that includes BM. Maybe this formula of music works with BP now as established artists but to compete with 4th/5th gen you need something new. BM will fail and YG will go bankrupt once BP members leave the company, which is most likely what will happen.

People come and go in YG and their old ways of promoting their artists and their marketing strategies scks. They've been thru a lot and still on a bad situation right now.
I know people nowadays like soft, healing, freshy songs. Kpop started to be known ww bec of Psy, Bigbang, 2ne1 with YG songs. Many groups copied their bad ass heavy music style and now ppl get tired listening to this kind of songs. I get it. Even Blackpink received hate for having same sound. But I guess YG will never ever change it. That's their trademark. It is not the trending music now but for me i like to see Babymonster bringing balance to kpop music in this new generation.
And regarding YG becoming bankrupt, stocks falling, it's been happening already even before Baemon's debut
But let's wait and see. Baemon will show up that talent, stage presence, energy and good live performances. Popularity fades but talent never betrays.

Bigbang's music back in the day was considered new for kpop, same with 2ne1 and PSY's music, which btw is totally different from BB and 2ne1. Gdragon's music was different as well.
DDDD by BLackpink was new and fresh back in 2018, now it has become old bcos they kept repeating the same structure every comeback.
The whole badass, hip-hop thing isnt cutting it anymore bcos that genre of music isnt exclusive to YG anymore, other groups have tried it and sometimes with better execution.
The real problem is that YG has become lazy and refuses to evolve !!!!!! I wish people would stop giving excuses like "being true to their style or brand". It's not a brand anymore. Even brand need something new at some point.
And i really wanna like BM but they're not bringing anything to 4th gen nor 5th gen... they're basically doing the same thing BP are doing but with new faces and younger versions.
And yes YG has been in a downfall since 2019 but now its even worse bcos BP IS LEAVING !!!!! I don't think kpop stans understand what that means for a company that has been depending of their comebacks to pay for other groups' comebacks and tours. They dont have anything left but Blackpink.

I think the reason why they released it in nov instead of sept is because of ahyeons health issue and they had to use this music as a backup. Ig they wanted to wait until ahyeon is back to health but then it will take too long. thus they had to release the rest for the girls first as to dampen fans rage. Theres no way yg wouldnt promote new groups at inkigayo and whatnot i think they still want to wait for ahyeon

We have the same thoughts actually. If Ahyeon participated in their debut, for sure they will put a moment where she will sing a high note. Nonetheless, this is still a good debut.
The song is good..but I just wish YG gave them their own individual sound instead of making it sound just like a typical Blackpink song. This sound doesn't stand out to me, even though there vocals were good. I thought it was going to a be different sound more like r&b etc, I guess not. Hopefully the next song will differentiate themselves from BP more 😊
But YG had said before that this would be a hiphop group. I don’t know why you and other people expect them to sing rnb.

Man I so agree with you it's a good song but a bridge with high belt was amiss and Ahyeon would really have brought it. I was so expecting this coming out of their solos and I felt they were held back. Maybe that part got cut after Ahyeon quit suddenly and they had to re-record a section of the song?
