I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. I agree Jeff if they dialed back just a tiny bit on Pharita’s high notes so it fits better in the mix it would even out the overall mix. But I love that she gets to showcase and I think that’s why they put it so out there. The girls really sound great. Love it!

Yeah I felt that way when I first listened to SITM. Pharita’s voice is really nice especially the belting, but I feel like it was too loud in the track which the producers could’ve done more better in mixing or at least change the belting
The way label can make shine for Pharita's belting high notes could copy the way they did in DREAM pre-debut song. She sang harmony after and along with Ahyeon high notes, the powerful steady harmonization. Or YG could have compose song that has her speific powerful singing part just like in the christmas cover song.

RAMI/SHIN HARAM, AHYEON/JUNG AHYEON and RORA/LEE DAIN are my favorite members in BABYMONSTER. I really love their voices. They are so talented. They are so good at singing. Their vocals are superb. I love them so much. They have so much potential. They are great.

One thing to remember, with the nature of this song they all had to act and we all should understand how difficult acting is when you have to show sadness. Chiquita, being the maknae probably had the toughest time but pulled it off nicely.
You want a live performance and we just might get one tomorrow (Wednesday, 2/7). I received a "teaser" saying "Special Stage" midnight KST on 2/8. That means Wednesday at 7am on the west coast. Adjust time for your time zone accordingly.
I honestly can't wait to hear them sing this later on in their career. It's definitely up there with YG ballads 😍

You have great hearing. It is raw live vocals. Watch the Making of Sheesh documentary episode 1. It shows the producers getting the girls to sing again and again in the studio production booths until they get the vocal sounds they want for the mv. There was a lot of controversy whether it was heavily autotuned. So many deaf haters out there. With Baby Monster no need for autotune. They have studio ready vocals. Just record, add musical instruments and drop straight into the mv.
I'm so happy with their concepts..so appropriate for them.

so you are correct, and not. it is a comeback, but it is also the pre-release to the mini album. almost like a teaser in a sense.
And I, myself, am not trying to get to excited about this song, and the reason is this.
In April, the mini album will be like a full debute of BabyMonster with all 7 girls.
and in this album, they are RE-producing Batter Up and Stuck In the Middle with Ahyeon. So you can rest assured both songs will sound totally different.
Ahyeon voice will put a different twist to both songs, I am assuming/hoping???
But I still like both these songs the way they are now. I am keeping both original versions as I fear both of these versions will disappear once the OT7 versions are released.
I agree with you about Pharita high note level that a little bit too loud and as you said it's the work of sound mixing not Pharita herself. YG said that they will re-record the songs when Ahyeon's back in April. Hope they will balance the level of this part better. 😃

For me, this record took K-pop to a higher vocal level that I expected from them. Great musical setting that did not disturb the reception with thousands of artificial sounds masking the shortcomings of the performers. Very good English and great stage setting.
Some "music experts" may have missed shaking their asses and other such attractions, which has become the main attraction of many girl groups in K-pop, but probably none of the viewers on this channel, whom I greet by the way.
