    I am looking for any of your videos that deal with Level 5-6 hair that turns orange/brassy with highlights.. I need a good toner. Thinking of Shades EQ 8vb & 8 N to tone? Use Finola no orange shampoo? Can you recommend any video or comments. Love your videos, they are fantastic!

      I have the same problem!

    • @carriea.7716
      @carriea.7716 3 роки тому +1

      @@janalively1773 Well I am still waiting for a cure all.. but this is what I have found.. I toned my whole head with 10.1, it worked pretty good, (and it blended my regrowth like a smudge) a week later I weaved in some 6 & 6.1 on the orangeish parts, making soft low lights... My hair is looking pretty good. The highlighted parts are cooler now and I have some dimension with the level 6 & 6.1 which also cooled me down overall and got rid of more brass. Next time I am going to balayage and use express lifting foils (I think my bleach is drying out too soon)... and get to the lightest color yellow I can get without breaking my fine hair.. I always have a sneaky orange undertone which kicks back up when toning. This time, I will tone with shades EQ 9N and 9V and I think I have a winner! Good luck... I have stubborn undercover orange no matter what I do. I have to burn the crap out of my hair to get rid of it and I am not willing to do that. So just have to deal with it using toner.. and occasional blue shampoo to keep it under control. Hope that helps! (if 9v still doesn't cool me down, I will use 9VB).

    • @trishya4749
      @trishya4749 3 роки тому +1

      Might want to consider double toning if you can’t get it light enough with the bleach (previously box coloured hair sometimes doesn’t lift enough) first corrective tone, then add the tone you want. You can only go as far as your hair is able to go. 8P , 8VB shades eq would work great. 🙂 and then 8n after. I find this way you get a more even result and you’re not mixing a bunch of colours in 1 toner that will be muddy.

    • @ShannonVanFleet
      @ShannonVanFleet 4 роки тому +2

      It’s not recommended by Redken to use Shades with anything besides processing solution or mix color lines, but it’s not like it’s going to make the hair explode if you do. Just make sure you understand WHY you’re doing it and when and you will most likely be safe 👍🏻

    • @ashleyalopez
      @ashleyalopez  4 роки тому +2

      Erika Lawless lol it’s a dry cut that’s just cutting off anything that’s dead not taking off “inches” wet hair can lay down the hair split ends and it’s hard to see when wet. So that’s why I did it dry.
