Couldn’t agree more, an amazing performance. I only discovered the show a month or so ago. Don’t know how I missed this when it first came out. Plus side is I could watch four seasons over the course of a few weeks.

I promise you they are on set for filming , it just takes too long for them to get in and out of costume and makeup, so they sit in it all day until they are needed...this is a time killer, for sure. A welcomed time killer, but a time killer nontheless. :)

Best show on Netflix. Stronger writing and pacing than Game of Thrones. Storyline that is epic and rooted in real history. Emotional and each character that is introduced is their own person, fun, interesting, and tragic.
I think GOT is better but they are both great. I certainly don’t think the last kingdom has better writing than GOT in its first 5 seasons. And the only show on Netflix that I think is better is peaky blinders.
Finan had a lot more (great) lines in season 4 and I believe that will be consistent in season 5 since they're engaging a thing between him and Eadith... But Sihtric definitely needs more lines! He is always fiscally present and does great action scenes, but not that much talking ):

Honestly I think one of the reasons why they get little to no negativity from the fans is that there is nothing to be negative about. I mean... The show is consistently awesome. The actors are all great and they seem like really nice people. The writing is amazing. There is just nothing to be pissed off about. I simply don't remember ever getting really annoyed by anything while watching The Last Kingdom. Not that I would suddenly stop being supportive of the cast if I did get annoyed, but... anyway, I just don't.

What show were you watching? TLK is one of the worst shows when it comes to historical and period accuracy. The producers were simply lazy. The show could have been amazing, but we got GOT-redux.

In the epilogue of each of Bernard's books he explains how the series isn't historically perfect but contains undertones of how England came to be. I’m a big fan of the show, but an even bigger fan of the character Uhtred. I just love, love the talent of the actor who brings Uhtred to life. I enjoy Finan and Sigtric’s relationship to Uhtred. They are not only loyal to him but their loyalty is that of an unspoken brotherhood. This is weird/funny but I pretend that I’m a made up character in the show to help me walk for exercise. I use the courage and tenacity of Uhtred. I just love his walk. But I do it in a feminine way of course. 😂 😂 The choreographer or whoever it is who teaches you all of the moves for fighting with those weapons, does an amazing job! Your fight scenes are so epic! When I look at some other medieval shows, the actors’ skills in some of their fight scenes aren’t as artistic.
agreed. In the Last Kingdom Battle scenes - I can actually figure out who is fighting who and what is going on - in many similar shows and movies, the battles are nothing but a hot mess of sword swinging and blood..
The fight/stunt coordinator is Levente Lezsák who also was stunt coordinator for S1 on The Terror. Fun fact: Ian Hart who plays Father Beocca was also in The Terror

"maybe finan will get a girlfriend" i would love love love to see more finan and eadith action in the next season. as soon as eadith said "his name is finan right?" and he looked over at her i screamed that they should be together. it feels like they are beginning to have something and it would be amazing if the writers built on that. it would be nice to see finan have someone other than his Bros to care about. Bros are great but sometimes you need someone else to keep you grounded. uhtred has his children and aethelflaed and the memory of gisela, osferth has god, sihtric has his wife and his son, but finan has no one to worry about at home or to worry about him while he is on these adventures.
These three are the best. Alfred came alive to me. But these three and baby monk , jelled so well that I felt they were family. The best series I have ever watched. Thank you to the whole cast for entertaining us so well, miss you all, well done. 👍❤️

It is 2024, and I happen to stumble onto The Last Kingdom series in the library. Took home and watched it over the weekend, where I seriously needed downtime, and loved it. So much so that I went online and bought all of the series in a blue-ray pack; 1 thru 5, plus the last one after series 5. Well done. Great job to all.
They might be not an A list actor but they have a wonderful chemistry together. I geniouly believe that Finan and Silthric are loyal too Uthred. That's what makes this show good.
i like loyal characters too, when Sithric "left" and "betrayed" Uthred, damn was i so mad at him. but when he came back, lmao. as if i never got angry in the first place. I really like their characters both in the show and as actors.

I think the fanbase might get that positivity from the very cast. I mean, it's amazing to watch how much chemistry they have, and how light the whole cast is on the backstage through every season! I've followed "The last kingdom" since season 1, playing and replaying every episode until the next season happened. My favorite series EVER!!! I never wanted the series to end, but it did, then we had " SEVEN KINGS". I have watched all five seasons and the movie so many times I can't count. My husband and I love love love the show. All of the characters are so Interesting and we look forward to future seasons. I think its great how personable these guys are. Hubby and I followed TLK from the first season and every time a season ends, there is always that “painful” waiting for the next! I so love these guys characters. We can’t wait for season 5!
I love to surround myself with beautiful people and these 3 gentlemen are exactly that! I can totally see myself hanging out with these guys around a campfire and having a few drinks, just shootin' the sh*t.....so refreshing to see actors who are great friends on and off set, are humble and REALLY ENJOY their work! It is 2024, and I happen to stumble onto The Last Kingdom series in the library. Took home and watched it over the weekend, where I seriously needed downtime, and loved it. So much so that I went online and bought all of the series in a blue-ray pack; 1 thru 5, plus the last one after series 5.

They might be not an A list actor but they have a wonderful chemistry together. I geniouly believe that Finan and Silthric are loyal too Uthred. That's what makes this show good.
i like loyal characters too, when Sithric "left" and "betrayed" Uthred, damn was i so mad at him. but when he came back, lmao. as if i never got angry in the first place. I really like their characters both in the show and as actors.

I think the fanbase might get that positivity from the very cast. I mean, it's amazing to watch how much chemistry they have, and how light the whole cast is on the backstage through every season! That transcends the screen and makes us feel as positive as they are. At least, that's how I feel about it.

Mark's Scottish accent is so thick that I'm really amazed of how good and genuine the Dub accent of Finnan sounds. Also, he's the only one trying to be serious while the other two are just ejits XD

I've followed "The last kingdom" since season 1, playing and replaying every episode until the next season happened. My favorite series EVER!!! I never wanted the series to end, but it did, then we had " SEVEN KINGS". I have watched all five seasons and the movie so many times I can't count. I suppose that if it ever leaves Netflix, I'll have to buy it outright. Thank you, Alexander, Mark, Arnas, and so many others. What a wonderful gift you've given me

My husband and I love love love the show. All of the characters are so Interesting and we look forward to future seasons. I think its great how personable these guys are. All the actors are always so great to watch in interviews. They seem like they all truly put their hearts into their characters and the show. Hands down the best I've seen in a while

Just finished season four last night. One of my favorite shows of all time. I'm so thankful that there are still shows with noble characters worth rooting for.

Hubby and I followed TLK from the first season and every time a season ends, there is always that “painful” waiting for the next! I so love these guys characters. We can’t wait for season 5!

I can totally see myself hanging out with these guys around a campfire and having a few drinks, just shootin' the sh*t.....so refreshing to see actors who are great friends on and off set, are humble and REALLY ENJOY their work! I got hooked to this show instantly and was so happy when Netflix picked it up. It was just for two seasons then. One of the best shows out there.
I love this show. I started watching this year. My only regret is I didn't discover this show sooner. Also I watched all for seasons in about two weeks. Again for me best show of the year.

I love this show and cast. The funny thing is that this show has gotten me thru some difficult times! I've been sober now since the first season but I will always remember fondly on watching this show while I was sitting in Rehab! It has gotten me thru some difficult days of detoxing! Great times with my other sober house mates , it was the first time I had enjoyed a show sober in more than 10 yrs! Love it ❤️

Idk where the advertisement is for this series, but yall need it. A friend recommended it to me because I love Viking stuff, but had never heard of this series until last week. But holy hell I've binged it up to season 3 already. You three, and Ian Are just way too funny and awesome in your roles.

Best cure for forgetting about the pandemic is watching episodes of The Last Kingdom. Watching this podcast is a continuation of the "feel good" feeling that I get from watching these actors interact together. Today, I'm writing from Minneapolis MN (USA) where the riots have been occurring and, I'll tell you, I need these moments of enjoyment.
This is the greatest thing I've ever watched, loved the show. I've watched all the seasons except the last one twice. Hope you guys do more of this.
