Big Bro is from my old neighborhood ... he taught us back in the mid 80s ... and that’s exactly how he started us out ...walk and step with that jab...boxing is no joke...Great man and great family...Shout out to Mr. Bo Ennis!!
OG Ennis is my uncle age(62-68)he comes from the generation of men in our community who were protected our community from internal and external dangers. They were militant, disciplined and no-nonsense when it came to foolishness and anything that harmed the community. They were masters of pretty much all the combat sports( boxing, wrestling, Martial arts etc) so we automatically knew to give them respect because they was always trying to pass those things off to us as well as general life lessons. OG Ennis is a rare gem in the mainstream media, a lot of people don’t realize the excellence they’re witnessing.
I agree with the street fighter having a different mindset than the standard boxer. Ray Robinson was a fighter who when given the skills to box had became the baddest man in the world. Duran and Hopkins as well. As long as that fighter takes the opportunity and their talents seriously then they can achieve anything in the sport.
I love this dude man! His son is a beast, he plays around a bit in the ring. But he’s sharp…you can tell Bozy was excited about talking in this interview lol 😂
Wish this guy was my dad very solid dude was there for all his kids unlike most that just up and leave he helped pave the way for all of them to be successful black man, I knew jaron Ennis was next up the first fight I seen, and he’s a likable dude humble but hungry 🙏🏾 Hopefully I get to share the ring with him one day
These old Philly fighters teach + pass the torch 🔥🔦 on to the young up + coming generation. Bozey Ennis said * I'm a Teacher*. In Philly there's allways old, retired street fighter turned boxer guys that train daily on a regular basis + They all will Teach u
I know the area of Philly called the "Brickyard". And when I was growing up the names he mentioned were Legends. Eugene "Cyclone" Hart, Willie "The Worm" Monroe.... in the amateurs I loved Bobby "Boogaloo" Watts was one of my favorites
You can’t teach heart, but you can teach someone self defense... I’ll leave it at that, because it’s too many fighters to name that have the streets in their pedigree and just as many that don’t. Floyd is the biggest example of a non street guy that took it to the highest level. The basics are definitely the first thing any aspiring fighter should learn ie stepping correctly while punching, footwork, etc. vs just getting in the ring and going for what you know. All in all this brother knows what the heck he’s talking about. He just earned a fan frfr.
One reason i feel most fighters don't want to fight Boots other than his skills is that i saw Ennis get bunched in the jaw flush that would knockout most fighters. But it looked to me like it didn't faze Ennis an that can brake most ppls spirit. Ennis has an iron jaw. And he's hard to hit so i got lucky to see it happen.
It's only people in the comments who are keyboard warriors and never boxed or probably had a fight in their life that are talking about people are scared. However I do believe Fighters duck other fighters for fear of a loss on their record!
One think though I will say when I was in the Empire State Game finals and I had Charles Murray who was knocking out everyone I was watching him and was saying to myself shit I ain’t fighting him But soon as I knew I made it to the state Championship I was like hell yeah I want that State Championship
Dats not true about taking it to another level you got to be from streets. Errol from a decent family an dat shawn porter an Kell brook he took it to another level
Yeah those are good examples. Errol is from a decent neighborhood in Desoto but Desoto is right down the street from this area called Oak Cliff and people often fought and got into shit there. There was a lot of high schools that didn't like each other some of them Dallas high schools and some of them sub divisions of Dallas like Desoto or Duncanville. They would clique up and fight other dudes they didn't like or had a problem with being caught in their territory if it wasn't just drama. EJ used to get out there i hear and some of the younger guys i know from my neighborhood have stories of him or know him from fighting.

Do more interviews with him, he's very knowledgeable

Wow. He said he’s 65. Bruh looks like he’s in his 40s.
I'm in disbelief at that too. Damn! He's in good shape.
His face and body is mostly covered
Sugar Ray Leonard is the same way in his 60s. Still has his speed and looks. Wouldn't want to get hit by him.
He right about the street, hunger is always there
The only thing a boxer is scared of in the ring is getting tired, but pros found a way around it..
The way around fear of getn tired is called being in condition /shape. Allways do Ur roadwork
They're taking PEDs for it
Maaan I appreciate the wisdom Coach Ennis gave.
He’s a boxing genius and boots is the proof

I almost fell out my damn chair when he said he's 65. My goodness, he looks like he's in his mid 40s.
Love hearing him drop gems
I like wat Bozy said. If u don't like gettin hit, u will wrk 2 improve yur defense.
I would definitely love to be trained by him all the stuff he said at the end was so true about trainers
I know the area of Philly called the "Brickyard". And when I was growing up the names he mentioned were Legends. Eugene "Cyclone" Hart, Willie "The Worm" Monroe.... in the amateurs I loved Bobby "Boogaloo" Watts was one of my favorites

Good interview
Mr.Ennis well schooled on the boxing game
Once he gets his shot then he be in the contenders list. Call a spade a spade the young man has a lot of promise but is still a prospect.
He got it from Jimmy Ennis too. lol Jimmy was a tough guy around Brickyard.
