Will Christians ever get that parroting the book gets nowhere?? I have yet to hear any Christian be as convincing and authentic as a baseball super-fan or serious classical music enthusiast where the passion simply bubbles out of them in a way that almost makes me want to go to a game or learn the violin. The Christian yammers out a sales program. Yes, cold-calling does get sales, but not anywhere near the persuasion when your friend is excited or inspired by their X hobby or interest. It almost makes me feel sorry for the Christian. They have no real experience to share so then end up sounding like that creator.
It does not matter in the least whether someone cares or not. If God is going to save them, the Bible WILL work. That is why I try to limit apologetics, and just get the atheist to read the Bible. Which they won't. I think they secretly fear it. If I lived in a muslim country, I would want to read their gibberish. If elsewhere, that book. They cannot both claim to be sincere, and also refuse to even study it.
I have been given similar advice before. I was told to "just pray" in response to my lack of Christianity as well as my general dislike of it. The advice made me laugh a lot, but it also frustrated me that no one has any good arguments.
As a former theist, I do remember once believing that everyone knew The Truth when they heard it. So he and others may think that by quoting scripture they will 'wake up' 'sleeping' spirits. But in reality, people know when they hear something they like, whether it's true or not. That's one possibility why they think this sort of blabbering works.
"The Bible says don't love the things of the world, for he who loves the things of the world does not have the love of the Father in him." Wait, didn't this "Father" supposedly create the things of the world? Are we not supposed to love His creation?
Bro it makes so much sense now! A flabberghast has flabbered your bladder, now you're flabberghasted! Obviously you have to ghast the flabber out of your bladder to be clean again. It's all written on the Globberglobe!
I'm sure the apologist lacks the awareness required to recognize the arrogance inherent in regurgitating his religion's holy book and dogmas and expecting anyone else to care. I'm sure he knows that _he_ wouldn't instantly convert if a Muslim did the same thing to him.
Why is he talking to non-believers like they believed? You forget that he also believes it's written on everyone's heart and that he's actually thinks that he is speaking to the choir? From his POV he is right and just needs to remind you, because it's you who's willingly walked from the right path that you internally know to be the right path and thus doesn't need to actually convince you.
That fairy tale book is (part of) the REASON I don't believe in God. So reading from it wil certainly NOT make me believe in him. Theists just don't get that.
"... those who do not believe" - With that little pause at the beginning, am I the only one who got some "those who shall not be named" vibes from it? 😂
Of course if you DO sincerely ask god to show you he's real, and nothing happens, it's because you weren't REALLY sincere! And if you think you're living a happy fulfilling life, you're not REALLY happy, you're just confused because you're living in darkness!! Gotta gaslight to evangelize.
As a former Muslim, that's the same thing that hit me. Why does God rely on inefficient methods of communication like needing to give "personal revelations" to one dude who can't provide any other evidence of divine communion and must use fragile and easily tempered "holy" books to give his message
Not according to the Bible. Baptism is only for Christians, not for the unsaved *becoming* Christians. Think of it like a honeymoon. A honeymoon is good AFTER marriage, but going on a honeymoon does not make one married.

If you make the blanket statement that using the Bible to prove the Bible is wrong, then I would ask you to prove math, but you cannot prove math. Prove to me that any author's non-fictional book is right or wrong, but you cannot quote from it.
But they have nothing else! Tell a Christian to prove God to you *without* using Bible and they will immediately flounder.

Babbling for Jesus.
Sad.
"The Bible says don't love the things of the world, for he who loves the things of the world does not have the love of the Father in him." Wait, didn't this "Father" supposedly create the things of the world? Are we not supposed to love His creation?
