I saw Bernie at Temple University in Phila. PA during the 2016 campaign--the line was several hours long to get in, and I ended up in an overflow hall that also filled, and Bernie came to talk to us first in McGonigle Hall before he went to the big arena in the Liacouras Center. People loved Bernie. That same year, Hillary came and less than a hundred people wanted to see her, so she ended up in a nice small building, Mitten Hall. No one that I knew wanted to go. It was almost like nothing happened. We were robbed by the DNC, and then the DNC's "favorite" won the primaries, and then Hillary lost to Trump. The DNC is making the same mistakes again, not caring what the people in the Democratic party want and need. They are just telling us things like inflation isn't as bad as it used to be, and Trump is terrible (so you have no choice, again).

I live in Australia so I have an outsider''s perspective. Politicians here talk about policy during campaigns. That means they say what they want to achieve and also how they will do it and fund their policies. I have been following this US election cycle with interest because Trump would be a disaster for the whole free, democratic world. I have heard more insults come out of his mouth than anything at all substantial. He is just so full of bullshit and misinformation.

    • @dao8805

I supported Bernie in 2016 and 2020 and agree with you that the DNC rigged the primaries both times. They did it again this time to RFK Jr by passing over 60 new rules to make it impossible for him to get the nomination. One of the rules was if he set foot in a primary state to campaign, any votes he got would automatically be awarded to Biden. So much for "democracy". The DNC and RNC are both corrupt private corporations with absolutely no duty to the public.
Kennedy made the gut-wrenching decision to leave the party of his father and uncle and run independent and I respect his courage.
He has been fighting for the public good for over 40 years and they all thought he was great until he decided to challenge their donor base and run for president. Then he suddenly became an anti-"v"er, a conspira- cee theorist, a GOP plant, a vote splitter and every other smear they could think of. The Dems accuse him of being a right winger and the Repubs accuse him of being a leftist.
Biden has denied RFK Jr's request for Secret Service protection FIVE times, despite documented death threats and his family history. It is the first time in the history of the Secret Service that protection has been denied a presidential candidate. Even Nikki Haley got it.
The truth is that RFK Jr. is the true traditional Dem, cut from the same cloth as his father and uncle and he wants to restore this country to the values of FDR, JFK, and RFK Sr. The DNC abandoned those values decades ago and turned their backs on the working class.
I will not vote for them again. They have exposed their own corruption and once you see it you can't un-see it.
We need to break the duopoly and take back control of our government. RFK Jr is our once-in-a-lifetime chance to do that. I'm tired of voting out of fear against the worse of the two evils. I am going to vote FOR the best candidate of my adult life.

@@johnnolang3734glad to see a fellow Aussie here. I share the opinion that Australians should pay attention to US politics, since as part of the US alliance system, we must be attentive to activity within the imperial core.
Bernie seems like one of the only sensible politicians in the entire country, and I'm sad that he fell so short in 2016 and 2020. It seems like no matter whether the US gets Trump or Biden, their foreign policy is set on a negative course - supporting Israel, antagonizing the global south, pressuring our Southeast Asian neighbours - and in the long run, both parties seem set on war with China.
I feel we as Australians must either push the US onto a better course, or escape and hope we don't get caught in the blast zone when everything falls apart.

It's deeply disturbing our leadership fails to accept that these things can be accomplished here if only we tax the wealthy and reduce some military spending. I want our military people to have the best, but defense contractors are sucking us dry like the pharmaceutical companies. Let's get corporate money out of lawmakers pockets , so they work for the people that elected them. Let's have free healthcare for all and put pharmaceutical companies in their place. Free higher education means citizens can get better jobs, can be better informed to participate in the political process, etc. so many countries are doing it better ,so why can't we try other programs working in other countries; we're Americans and we can do it better if we try. I am on the left and so obviously there's some of us who think corporate taxes are inefficient. Most countries don't derive a lot of tax revenue from corporate taxes, they derived it from income and VAT predominantly. A substantial portion of corporate taxes are externalised onto the consumer, it costs a lot to regulate and administrate it, it disincentivizes entrepreneurship and is really quite ineffective overall, like I stated previously it doesn't derive a substantial amount of tax revenue and it has many negative externalities.

Vat is regressive tax and should be moderate. Instead there should be much more steeper progressive tax in the US like in wealthy European countries.
Corporate tax is one of the most important part of governments tax revenue.....
Thats why the EU is trying to harmonize corporate tax among member states at around 20%, to prevent unfair competitive advantage and free riding (Ireland with their low corporate tax rate)
The price elasticity of corporate tax shows that its not passed mostly on customers. Competition and price sensitivity of customers keep this in check.
There is hardly negative externalities with corporate tax. I know you will say "its double taxation, etc" and other nonsense. It does not disrupt incentives, its efficient, it is massive tax revenue source.

@@coderamen666 I supported Bernie in 2016 and 2020 and saw how the DNC cheated him out of the nomination in spite of the fact that he was the one who was polling the strongest against Trump. Haven't you ever wondered why they did that?
It's because the DNC would rather risk us getting stuck with Trump than ever letting us have a candidate who will serve the people instead of their corporate donors. It is the same reason they forced RFK Jr out of the Dem party by passing over 60 new rules to make it impossible for him to get the nomination, including awarding any votes he got in a primary state where he campaigned in person to Biden. That is NOT democracy. It is corruption.
Both Bernie and RFK Jr are threats to the establishment. Bernie got in line and is selling blue Kool-Aid so they have backed off of him.
RFK Jr didn't get in line so they are smearing him with vicious lies, labels and distortions that are all patently untrue. Don't believe the msm; they take his words out of context and spin them to mean the opposite of what he says .
Hear him out in his own words, UNEDITIED, on independent media to see who he really is. You have absolutely nothing to loose.

@@user-wt5bf4rw7e that could be a factor. That said, Biden made his appointment recommendations to the Board of Directors & we all seriously need to get on to Chuck Schumer to get off his behind, get them finalized, and get DeJoy the HECK OUT OF USPS! HE SERIOUSLY tampered with the mail in Florida the past election and I'm already beginning to hear accounts of people having mail problems. I placed and Amazon order a few weeks ago and never have problems when it comes from the Amazon or UPS truck, but the one set to come USPS was entered into the system, track a few days, then NOTHING. Fortunately Amazon guarantees all their stuff, but if that's what's happening to some of Senator Sanders books, that could seriously hurt the campaign. My gosh I hope the people who usually vote by mail plan to vote IN PERSON with all the GOP hanky panky and all the damage DeJoy's done to USPS.

Make sure you go through your emails and click the link they send you to confirm the address where to book ships too. Sorry I can't be more specific where it comes from, but after not getting my book and digging for the confirmation in my email, THEN I stumbled on this thing, so even if DeJoy is up to no good at the USPS, It was a long time before I ever confirmed with them where to ship it.

RFK Jr is what is known as a Ratfkr. I'm old enough to know what that is. Others can google it, but essentially it's a right-winger playing politics in unethical and deceptive ways, including pretending to be something they're not. It's sad all the people he successfully suckers. A lot of people who trust him are in for some very rude awakenings if he actually successfully pulls off getting people to vote for him vs. Biden.

If I could name a POTUS, I'd vote for Mr. Sanders, Judge Carlos Moore or other people who are not on the list of nominees. so, dear Sir, you might want to rethink your statement because if Trump gets elected, it's over.

Stein is Trump in drag. She hurt Sanders in the Primaries against Hillary and she threw the election to Trump. There's nothing authentic, nor green about her. Her MANSION doesn't have Solar, so of course she has no solar powered car (and being RICH, unlike a lot of others, she can more than afford it). Again, she had the chance to HELP Sanders, instead the spoiled malignant narcissist had the opportunity of a lifetime to help us help Sanders, but Jill was all about Jill, and let's not forget her flights to party in Russia with the other Elitists. How can she con ANYONE when she is the very thing keeping "We the People" down? One way you learn to tell the real deal from the fake is direct action...but with some people, you don't need a particularly good radar with this one...she's exactly like all the other wealthy people who want everything to be about THEM so she buys the party. BTW, that's a lesson people need to learn FAST when they finally wake up and realize they are the ones who need to get in there and save themselves...When you're ACTIVE...you'll see all kinds of egomaniac trying to hijack groups and having little hissy fits when they don't get THEIR way because they're dealing with actual activist who can spot these people a mile away. Stein: TRUMP IN DRAG! Including her adoration & ENVY of Authoritarians like Putin.

I’m from Ireland & I love Bernie but over here a politician exactly like Bernie is normal. He’s not “far left” or “progressive”… only in America can this be so. I truly believe people in the US haven’t a clue what communism & socialism actually is. Politicians fire out these buzzwords about their competitors all the time when they are not even close to being any of those things. I laugh when I see your politicians do this. I also think it’s scandalous that people can go bankrupt because one of their family members become sick. How bad is this?!! The US is the richest nation in the world but it doesn’t treat their citizens as if they are. These are just things I’ve come to notice over years. It isn’t good! These things wouldn’t happen here. That’s one reason why Bernie is normal to us.
